Description: SCP-XXXX is a semi-humanoid creature standing just under 60cm its skin is grey and it is typically a gaunt frame, with a large stomach SCP-XXXX is always grinning. Interviews with SCP-XXX are possible but not recommended as it is only active after five minutes when the door is closed and locked, and will largely only tell jokes, or mock interviewer, though some useful information has been attained. SCP-XXXX has been shown to adapt in its anomalies, some distortion of electrical devices, though this is not shown in early tests has manifested in SCP-XXXX. the laughter effect caused by SCP-XXXX has been shown to very given how long the subject has been exposed to SCP-XXXX

+ Discovery

SCP-XXXX was originally discovered when a D class personnel went missing, the room D-8465 was housed in was enveloped in darkness. "HAHA" was written repeatedly on strips of paper attached to the walls throughout the room with what was later discovered to be blood matching D-8465. The lights were dimmed leaving a small circle large enough to completely cover one person. room was officially labeled SCP-XXXX on 1956/██/██. testing involving two D class personnel locked in the room for three hours resulted in uncontrollable laughter for the next three weeks.

Test A - Date████/██/██

Subject: D-2184 D-9856
Procedure: Subjects were locked into SCP-XXXX for three hours given handled cameras.
Results: After six (6) Minutes SCP-XXXX can be seen in the far end of the room, smiling at subjects. After eight (8) minutes the circle of light widens to cover both subjects. Whispers are heard and SCP-XXXX is seen to be speaking, Both subjects begin to chuckle, nodding in agreement. Audio is distorted and cuts out. After an hour Both subjects seem relaxed and are conversing openly with SCP-XXXX after two (2) hours subjects begin to laugh and continue to do so, despite obvious signs of discomfort. At three hours the subjects are removed from the room, SCP-XXXX attempts to stop their removal and security is involved, causing ██ casualties, subjects escaped as SCP-XXXX was unwilling to leave the room.
Analysis: The laughter of subjects continued for three weeks, causing respiratory irregularities for █ days after laughter was controlled. interviews of subjects were unsuccessful as both subjects confirmed that SCP-XXXX continuously made jokes and seemed friendly to both subjects. Subjects have exhibited suicidal behavior after this encounter, and neither has attempted to any humorous actions since exposure. Though both have requested re-exposure to the anomaly. SCP-XXXX has shown a change in anomalous properties and further testing is discouraged.

Test B - Date ████/██/██

Subject: D-2486
Procedure: D-2486 was placed into SCP-XXXX at 1230pm and remained there with wireless recording equipment including a wireless handheld camera, and mres of subjects choosing, for seven (7) days.
Results: after five (5) minutes whispers are heard on the camera's microphone though they are too quiet to hear clearly. SCP-XXXX is able to be made out in the darkness, though no detail can be made out. after three hours SCP-XXXX can be heard saying "Isn't it funny?" to which subject replied to the affirmative and began to chuckle. fifteen (15) minutes after this the recordings video begins to display light distortion. The chuckling persists for three hours at which point subject begins to cry and the audio of the recording begins to cut out. SCP-XXXX can be seen in the far corner smiling at the subject. At approximately 3am the subject begins to fall asleep. but is woken by SCP-XXXX a hushed conversation ensues but is too low to hear from the camera microphone. By 6am subject has begun to laugh, laughing persists for the next four (4) hours after which subject collapses, SCP-XXXX can be seen moving to subject at this point the level of distortion to the video has destroyed any video past this point.

+ Incident Report XXXX-A

Seven (7) days after discovery and lockdown of SCP-XXXX the anomaly jumped to a room within 18m, an office belonging to [DATA EXPUNGED] The office was found in the same darkness as previous events. The word, hungry, was scrawled on the walls of the office. and SCP-XXXX was seen fading into the shadow cast by a similar circle of light as seen in the original event. Room was fitted with an upgraded lock. SCP-XXXX has been assigned to its current room and no furniture has been removed.

+ Addendum:

SCP-XXXX has hinted at an origin in Germany 1945 and often refers to this time period. though it is impossible to verify this. It claims to have ridden in an airplane cargo area in 1950 and landed close to ██████████ finding SCP site██ in 1956 stating it had to look in a place with so many dark rooms and stays here because it desires to do so. SCP-XXXX during this interview destroyed recording equipment and all the remaining records lost in what seems like a filing error.

No more useful information has been gained from interviewing, as such interviewing has been canceled.

exterior lights have proven an ineffective means of containment for SCP-XXXX. The lights will shut off as SCP-XXXX passes underneath them.
