SCP-XXXX-1

"SCP-XXXX-1 Upon Initial Containment"

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be maintained in its designated .3m x .3m container, preferably comprised of 99.9% pure aluminum. When not referred to the testing area, SCP-XXXX is restricted to its designated container when either in storage or transit. Said container is to be stored in security locker 42 at Site 17. Key is kept with Dr. N████. Any requests for testing/personal use are to be redirected to him as well by Foundation personnel of O-3 Clearance or higher.

The unauthorized removal/use of the object beyond the container or testing area is under all circumstances prohibited. If SCP-XXXX were to be removed from Site 17 itself, subject will be met with immediate termination.
As a reminder to all faculty, SCP-XXXX is a potentially dangerous object and should be treated as such. Requests to use SCP-XXXX-1 for personal use are indefinitely restricted to researchers with Level 3 clearance and below.

All testing is to take place in a room lined with several layers of pure aluminum foil material on the floor, walls and ceiling. Aluminum is preferred due to its resistance to oxidation as SCP-XXXX's effects will be unable to reverse oxidation and suffocate personnel inside. SCP-XXXX is to only be transferred to and from its container in the described testing area.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of a single leather bound glove designated as SCP-XXXX-1 henceforth. SCP-XXXX-1 is physically described as a right-hand glove with no notable differences to that of a standard leather glove despite the appearance of a black, sandpaper-like region present on the tip of the index finger.

SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous effects are made evident when the index finger of the glove comes into contact with any other object consisting of solid matter. The remaining four fingers of the glove have been shown to exhibit no anomalous properties themselves. The effects of the subject resemble that of restorative properties. If SCP-XXXX-1 were to come in contact with an object, preferably in a state of arrested decay, the object will regain its lost mass at a varying rate depending on size of restoration. The effects of SCP-XXXX-1 have been shown to follow the Laws of Conservation of Mass, refer to the testing logs listed below.

SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered by Agent ██████ on 11/17/19██ in ██████, Michigan

Addendum XXXX-42: The existence of an instance of a second glove, SCP-XXXX-2, has been speculated yet the current location of such is unknown.

Addendum XXXX-57: Testing

Acquisition Report:

In 19██ the city of Detroit, Michigan (in an attempt to tear down and clean out the majority of old warehouses/industrial plants from the city's past industrial boom) began clearing the basement of a former automotive factory. While surveying the basement for possible salvageable scrap and material, SCP-XXXX-1 was collected to be disposed of along with other materials and parts determined to be beyond use.

Prior to disposal, a construction worker by the name of Phillip ████████ on the site noticed many of the parts deemed beyond salvage looked brand-new and lustrous. According to his own account, he took the whole lot home with him to sell the automotive parts on his own only to discover SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous effects. Mr. ████████ for the next 6 years exploited its affects to make a small fortune on "restoring" the parts found during demolition projects he worked on throughout the city.

It wasn't until Mr. ████████ was enlisted to the hospital for his left arm immaturing over night to that of a fetus after falling asleep with glove on. In order to receive help, he explained to hospital staff the effects of the glove upon which the story went public. Upon investigation, the foundation dismissed the story as a hoax, interviewed Mr. ████████, contained/classified SCP-XXXX-1 and administered class-C amnesics to all individuals involved without incident.
