SCP-XXXX

Serial Victim

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All modifications to containment procedures are to be made off-site and only by personnel not present during the last metamorphic event. SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an airtight humanoid containment cell with a dual-key locking mechanism. In the event of a containment breach anywhere on-site the cell will be locked down until containment is fully reestablished. The cell ventilation system is to be fitted with nitrogen gas canisters set on an automated timer to flood the room once daily. Personnel are instructed not to talk about SCP-XXXX in the presence of any person not assigned to SCP-XXXX. All tests involving the termination of SCP-XXXX will be denied unless SCP-XXXX's current subject has been identified.

Personnel transferring away from SCP-XXXX must undergo psychological evaluation before reassignment.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a metamorphic entity of indeterminable age and origin. It commonly takes the form of a small child or animal, and is capable of all vocalizations expected of it's current form. In its humanoid forms it has shown sporadic shifts in it's language capabilities, sometimes fluent in multiple languages and other times barely able to speak one. Despite this fluctuation SCP-XXXX is certainly a distinct entity, able describe past events in detail, and shows the trauma associated with prior assaults. However SCP-XXXX does not show signs of detachment, paranoia, or withdrawal usually adopted by victims of similar trauma. The forms adopted by SCP-XXXX persist until either the completion of an assault or the termination of the object, and do not appear to be controlled by the SCP.

With each metamorphic event one sapient individual within a 1km radius is instilled with a latent desire to bring harm to SCP-XXXX. If the subject has no prior knowledge of SCP-XXXX this desire doesn't manifest until they become aware of it's existence. This desire persists so long as SCP-XXXX holds it's form, though as time progresses the subject will start becoming increasingly aware of some unnamed task they must perform and will actively seek out information about SCP-XXXX. Upon discovering this "task" the subject will proceed in a manner appropriate to their personality and circumstances. The harm inflicted appears chosen by the subject and is consistent with their personality traits.

Upon completion of the assault the subject undergoes a subtle yet powerful personality shift. Often attaining low grade Cluster-B personality disorders. As well the subject maintains a persistent desire to relive the events, but will not return to SCP-XXXX to do so. The determination of a completed assault appears to be based on a causal link, and not direct contact. As such, it is not necessary for the subject to harm SCP-XXXX directly for these secondary effects to take hold. These secondary effects can also manifest despite SCP-XXXX presenting a different form, so long as the events intended to bring harm are initiated while the subject is under it's influence.
