Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard aviary with conditions suitable for one(1) adult Corvus Corax at site (???). The enclosure must be soundproofed, with an additional small, soundproofed room at the entrance of the enclosure that serves as an intermediary containment cell in the case SCP-XXXX attempts containment breach to follow a subject. Foundation personnel with clearance level 2 or higher may enter the enclosure and interact respectfully with SCP-XXXX with permission from Site Directors. Personnel with a record of homicide are not permitted to enter SCP-XXXX's enclosure without experimental clearance and accompaniment of a presiding researcher. Unauthorized harm to SCP-XXXX is grounds for punishment(?).

Description:
SCP-XXXX is an adult Corvus Corax, identified commonly as a Common Northern Raven, 63cm long with a wingspan of 141cm and a weight of 1.39kg. On a general basis, SCP-XXXX exhibits the standard appearance and behaviors of its species, and testing of its biological functions does not reveal noticeable physiological abnormalities with the exception of an anomalous resilience to life-threatening damage. While SCP-XXXX has recovered from all physical damage observed thus far, it retains scars that reflect injuries received. See addendum-(?????) for a list of all physical markings. SCP-XXXX is typically amicable towards foundation staff and has been observed gifting objects such as twigs and small rocks to favored personnel.

The extent of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties is only observed when the specimen is in hearing range of select humans who have committed homicide. This range can vary depending on the auditory capabilities of the subject (See addendum-???), but once the subject is within range, SCP-XXXX will begin to emit vocalizations consistent with fluent human speech. The pitch, tone, and speech style are consistent with that of the victim(s) of the subject, regardless of age or gender. SCP-XXXX will attempt to move closer to the subject while staying out of physical range, and will "speak" to the subject in this voice (or voices) using first-person speech while imitating the personality of the victim(s). It will accuse the subject of their crimes, often describing said crimes in detail, and behave in an aggressive and hostile way. SCP-XXXX expresses a strong desire for subjects to be "properly punished," and attempts to incite feelings of guilt and regret.

SCP-XXXX was recovered on January [], 19[], in [], Maryland after a string of unusual suicides in surrounding areas. Many of the deceased had been suspected but not convicted of murder and had exhibited increased paranoia and signs of depression in the weeks leading up to their deaths, regardless of previous psychological profile. Several of the deceased had made unusual comments about encountering a talking bird, and while some believed it was a hallucination, others swore their experience was real. Field agents investigating this phenomenon encountered SCP-XXXX on the property of [] Edwards, having been hit with a shotgun by the former. [] Edwards expressed manic glee to field agents about, quote, "Finally taking care of that blasted demon that's been haunting me day and night". Agent [] approached SCP-XXXX and found it still alive, despite severe damage that would be fatal to a typical member of its species. SCP-XXXX was recovered and treated for its injuries, and placed under observation. Its further anomalous properties were not observed until April [], 19[], during Incident XXXX-A1 (see Addendum XXXX-1).

Addendum:
Addendum XXXX-1
+Researcher attempts communication with SCP-XXXX. Anomalous behavior triggered, implying Researcher is responsible for spouse's death. Researcher is detained pending investigation.

Addendum XXXX-2
Experiment logs:
+D-class, no history of homicide. No anomalous behavior observed.
+D-class, attempted homicide of a juror. No anomalous behavior observed.
+D-class, one count of homicide via mailed bomb. No anomalous behavior observed, but SCP-XXXX displayed aggressive birdlike behavior.
+D-class, two counts of homicide during armed robbery. No anomalous behavior observed, but SCP-XXXX displayed aggressive birdlike behavior.
Note that while many of the previous cases thought to be caused by SCP-XXXX had equivalent or lesser numbers of believed victims, perhaps SCP-XXXX considers D-class subjects as having received appropriate punishment.
+D-class, three counts of sexual assault and homicide. Anomalous behavior triggered.
+D-class, three counts of homicide. D-class is completely deaf. No anomalous behavior observed, but SCP-XXXX acts especially aggressively towards subject and remains agitated for some time after removal.
+D-class, five counts of homicide with gruesome methods. Anomalous behavior triggered.
+D-class, four counts of sexual assault, homicide and cannibalism. No anomalous behavior observed, SCP-XXXX behaving normally. It's noted that D-class maintained innocence during conviction before pleading guilty at the very end. An investigation is started into the potential wrongful detainment of D-class.
