Item #: SCP-####
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### is to be stored in a secured lock-box at Site 76. Articles of SCP-#### are to be kept in a cardboard sleeve, and are to be stored in a file storage box away from direct sunlight when not in use. When not in an active state (designated as SCP-####-A) SCP-#### requires no custom security procedures, but should still be handled with care. Articles of SCP-#### can only be checked out with approval from Level 3 staff or higher.
Foundation is to monitor online auctions, classifieds, and other resale e-commerce sites for instances SCP-####. In the event that a public performance or transmission of SCP-####-A occurs, Mobile Task Force Eta-11 ('Savage Beasts') is to be dispatched to disrupt the event and contain SCP-####. Class B amnesiatics are approved for those affected by an SCP-####-A event, though depending on specific effects of the SCP-####-A event, amnesiatics may not be warranted.
When performing an experiment with SCP-####, it is to be enclosed in a sound-proof room. No personnel are allowed to listen to an SCP-####-A event, except D-Class personnel pre-screened and approved for testing. No Foundation personnel are allowed to be present in a room during an SCP-####-A event, except those with FDCP-35A status. SCP-#### should be activated remotely on approved Foundation devices. No audio transmissions of SCP-####-A are allowed in the presence of Foundation personnel, except as mentioned above. Any D-Class personnel undergoing testing must undergo psychiatric evaluations, cognitive tests, and Meyers-Panning skills and aptitude testing before and after exposure to an SCP-####-A event.
Audio or video recordings of SCP-####-A events must be made on approved devices maintained per standards found in SCP-####-I. Audio or video recordings of SCP-####-A not made from a device in SCP-####-I are to be treated as a Class B cognitohazard, and must be destroyed as soon as possible. No digital recordings of SCP-####-A are to be made, whether they are copied directly, or as a copy from a device sanctioned within list SCP-####-I. If a digital recording of an SCP-####-A event is found, the recording is to be erased, written over a minimum of 1,024 times, and the hardware containing the recording is to be destroyed per digital protocol IT-739
When tests are performed on D-Class personnel using SCP-####, an audio recording must be made from a recording device from SCP-####-I. These audio recordings must then be manually transcribed by either D-Class personnel, or approved L1 personnel. Transcripts of the tests are to be kept on file, along with any cognitive, psychological, and Meyers-Panning skills and aptitude tests performed before and after tests.
Description: SCP-#### is a collection of 45 rpm vinyl records performed by ███████ and produced by ████████ Studios. After extensive investigations by Foundation staff, no records of ████████ or ████████ Studios can be found.
Chemical analysis tests have shown the records material to have the same chemical makeup as typical vinyl records produced at that time.
No two playbacks from SCP-#### are alike. If allowed to play, the song will exceed the play limit of normal 45 rpm records of its size.
SCP-#### was retrieved from an FCC raid on a pirate radio station in ██████ ██████, Connecticut in 19██. The raid was conducted after listeners complained of headaches, auditory and visual hallucinations, and other symptoms after listening to content on the pirate radio station. In the raid, the FCC confiscated equipment and some of the music collection, which included articles of SCP-####. The Foundation was brought in after an FCC clerk cataloging the records played one of them, and suffered extreme memory loss.
Description: SCP-####-1 is a recording of the song "What A Wonderful World (This Would Be). While the song sounds like a cover of the original by Sam Cooke, the lyrics do not match those performed by other artists. Song lyrics describe topics, events, persons, and areas of study specific to the listener. Upon hearing the lyrics, the listener loses any ability to remember anything related to that subjects described in the verses.
Effects of SCP-####-1 appear to last indefinitely. Listener can be retrained in subjects removed from their memory by SCP-####-1 with some difficulty. Retraining efforts similar to occupational therapy for stroke victims.
Autopsies on subjects exposed to SCP-####-1 show minute lesions in the brain tissue consistent with electrical shocks. Locations of lesions comparable to portions of the brain responsible for long term memory and portions highlighted in brain scans of others performing tasks in subjects mentioned in the songs.
While other records were seized with similar auditory-induced effects, this particular record has been studied more intensively for its potential amnesiatic and anti-memetic effects. However, due to the side effects of general loss of cognition and the unpredictable nature of the song lyrics, the use of this SCP for those purposes is rejected except under approval by O5 council.

Description: SCP-####-2 is a recording of the song "Purple Haze", covered by the artist above. Lyrics do not match original lyrics, and are different with each playing of the record. Upon listening to SCP-####-2, listener undergoes hallucinations and ###. Effects similar to LSD. Effects will last for the duration of the song, plus 5-15 minutes after event. Severity of effects linear to sound volume.
No lasting effects of exposure to SCP-####-2 have been noted. Incidences of hallucinations and psychotic events have been noted months, even years after exposure in some listeners. Effects similar to hallucinogen persisting perception disorder, more commonly referred to as LSD "flashbacks".
After exposure to SCP-####-2, listener will be unable to accurately describe events that occurred during the SCP-####-A-2. ###
Description: SCP-####-3 is a recording of "Rock Around the Clock" (1952, 1954)
Notes: Causes listener to dance uncontrollably. Record will continue to play until sunrise the following morning (gonna rock rock rock til broad daylight). If stopping the song prematurely, listener will continue to dance, singing the song until the following morning, or they collapse of exhaustion.
Secondary effect: Subsequent playing of the original song will cause the subject to dance, but only for the duration that the song is played.
Video comparisons of dance movements show eerily similar dance steps, despite the dance skill level and training of the listener. Play for 100 people, and they will all dance the same way.
Immediate administration of Class B amnesiatics following exposure to SCP-####-3 has some effect on blocking the secondary effect, depending on the duration of exposure to SCP-####-3.

RE: Unauthorized use SCP-####-3 on D-Class
After reviewing multiple requests for uses for SCP-####-3, a blanket statement is in order. SCP-####-3, or audio recordings thereof, cannot be used for the following:
- Training D-Class personnel for dance routines for any holiday party or social events.
- Any videos published on social media showing large numbers of D-Class personnel dancing to "Rock around the Clock"
- Assembling a Flash Mob at a public venue.
- Any "fitness video" where participants "Dance to the oldies" or anything of that nature.
Requests to use SCP-####-3 as a temporary containment measure for humanoid SCPs and D-Class personnel that are considered flight risks will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
With regards,
Dr. J. Martin
Description: SCP-####-4 is a recording of "Dizzy" (You're making me dizzy)
Notes: Causes nausea, motion sickness, and vomiting. Effects fade within 30 minutes of listening to the song. Secondary effect: Subsequent exposure to the original song or any other covers of the song may trigger temporary relapse.
Immediate administration of Class B amnesiatics has some effect on stopping the secondary effect, depending on the volume and exposure time to SCP-####-4
Description: SCP-####-5 is a recording of "Hound Dog" (1953, 1956 by Elvis)
Notes: Listener begins taking on affect and personality of a dog. Personality depends on greatly on the person, and on the lyrics. Replace Hound Dog with something similar every time.
Effects appear permanent if not treated. Exposure to amnesiatics can reverse the effects, if caught in time.
Administration Class B amnesiatics, followed by hypnosis treatments and cognitive behavioral therapy can return subjects to a more human mental state, though some changes in their personality related to exposure will be evident.
Description: SCP-####-6 is a recording of "Sounds of Silence", originally written by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle. While the instrumentals and melody are similar to the Simon and Garfunkel original, the lyrics stray from the original. Lyrics typically describe malevolent forces leading to a dystopian or apocalyptic doom. Religious elements mentioned in the song lyrics often relate to the listener (for example, Islamic listeners may hear plays on words found in the Quran, while those with Hindu backgrounds may trigger lyrics mentioning topics in the Vedas).
After listening to SCP-####-6 approximately three minutes and five seconds (the length of the original song), the listener is unable to speak or vocalize their thoughts for a length of time ranging from two weeks, up to six months. Longer exposures to the song increase the length of time exponentially.
Exposure to Class B Amnesiatics will shorten the time of recovery from SCP-####-6 exposure compared to those not given treatment or those given a placebo. Dr. Stanton, chief psychologist for Site 76, theorizes that the listener's memories of the song lyrics reinforce the effects of SCP-####-6, thereby hindering recovery efforts.
Containment Addendum: After Incident SCP-####-K6329, the use of magnetic resonance imaging or similar technology to study SCP-####'s affects on the brain are strictly prohibited.
Audio recordings of SCP-####-A events used for transcription can be safely recorded on audio cassette recorder or reel-to-reel recorder that uses magnetic-based audio tapes. Devices should be a minimum of 20 years old. Maintenance can be performed on motors parts to keep the recorder running. However, recording heads should not be cleaned, maintained, or replaced, except by parts of similar poor condition.
Audio tapes used in the recording of SCP-####-A events must be stored in high humidity and high temperature environments, to promote degradation of playback. Tapes should be tested for quality to make sure audio content can be discerned, but there is sufficient signal distortion to be categorized as a low quality playback. Also, tapes should be checked for possible break, as failure to record content may lead to loss of important information, especially in the case of SCP-####-1
Video recordings may be performed through any standard surveillance-grade video recording system, as long as audio recordings are not captured along with the video.

RE: Handling Digital recordings of SCP-####
In light of recent events, it has been determined that digital recordings of SCP-#### must be erased, and any hard drives containing recordings of SCP-#### must be secured via Foundation protocol SCP-ITIM-22369.
From this point on, no digital copies of SCP-#### are to be recorded, sold, or distributed. Digital recordings of SCP-#### should be treated as a potent cognitohazard, and dealt with as such. God help us if a copy of it ever got out on the Internet.
Finally, to the personnel who thought it was a good practical joke to play a recording of SCP-#### on Dr. Faustino's computer during startup, we know who you are, and it is no laughing matter. A tribunal will be called to discuss appropriate discipline for those associated with this prank.
Please be aware that the Foundation recruits personnel from a wide variety of expertise. Finding experts in exobiology, Norse mythology, semaphore, and Native American lore proves challenging normally. Now that we have lost the expertise of those experts, we have to find more to fill the gaps left by this prank.
With regards,
Dr. J. Martin
Subject: D-6329 - Caucasian male, 42 years of age. Brown Hair and blue eyes.
Subject strapped into a Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine to monitor brain activity during an SCP-####-A event. Brain showed normal signs before SCP-####-A event.
During SCP-####-A event using SCP-####-1, the MRI beeped with numerous warnings concerning power spikes, despite precautions taken to ensure a clean, uninterrupted power supply. MRI images showed elevated electrical activity within the brain. D-6329 experienced grand-mal seizures. SCP-####-A event was stopped and medical staff were sent in to stabilize D-6329. However, D-6329 never recovered, and remained in a vegetative state for 18 hours before he died. Autopsy revealed extensive brain damage consistent with electrical discharges and lightning strike victims.
Use of MRI and other related technologies to monitor brain activity during SCP-####-A events has been discontinued.
