Description: SCP-XXXX is a mahogany cradle discovered in [REDACTED], estimated to have been built █ years ago2. SCP-XXXX exhibits cognitohazardous effects when in close proximity to pregnant women. Affected subjects report hearing a voice they identify as belonging to their unborn child. Reported sexes have been found to match the sex of the fetus, even prior to seven weeks into the pregnancy. Subjects affected by SCP-XXXX have miscarried in 97% of cases, though swift treatment with amnestics has been found to reduce this chance to as low as 64%. Research with SCP-231-7 as a potential alternative to Procedure-110 Montauk is currently pending O5 approval3.
Addendum-01: On ███, Researchers [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], who were both assigned to SCP-XXXX, reported hearing the voices of their 5- and 7-year old children, respectively. Within 6 hours of the reported incidents, both children were hospitalized with pneumonia. Research is ongoing to determine the cause for the expansion of SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects.
Addendum-02: On ███, Researcher [REDACTED] reported experiencing the effects of SCP-XXXX within 3 hours of reading this file. Further experimentation has shown that all visual and text-based documentation of SCP-XXXX, now known as instances of SCP-XXXX-1, now exhibits the same cognitohazardous effects as SCP-XXXX itself. Access to all such documentation now requires Level-4 credentials, and a memo has been distributed to all Site-[REDACTED] staff describing the effects of SCP-XXXX, as well as several symptoms not expressed by affected individuals, in order to prevent the conversion of these memos into SCP-XXXX-1 instances.4
I don't know what happened to leave Researcher Cooper gibbering to herself, or why this skip
seems to be giving us so much trouble, but until we get it figured out, I want all female personnel kept away. And someone look into getting this thing reclassified; if it can keep changing the rules on us, it needs to be on a higher-security level.
