Item #: SCP 0000
Item class: Safe
Special containment procedures: SCP 0000 should usually be kept in a locked garage on a foundation site. In events where this is too inconvenient, it is acceptable to place SCP 0000 in an open field, an out of the way parking lot, or for longer term storage SCP 0000 may be placed in a museum. All of this is provided that SCP 0000 is sealed via it’s internal mechanism.
If unauthorised personnel attempt to access SCP 0000 with sufficient evidence of hostile intent (See addendum 2 memo), force may be used to stop them. The top priority should be to destroy any large electrical equipment targets may be carrying, this is regardless of whether other targets are armed, and regardless of whether foundation staff are at risk. Under no circumstances should large electrical devices staff are not absolutely certain of the function of be allowed near SCP 0000, except when this is explicitly authorised.
If an entity or person not compliant with the foundation somehow gains access to SCP 0000, the nearest relevant site director must immediately be alerted, and armed staff should maintain constant coverages of any of SCP 0000’s hatches. The canister of lethal gas within SCP 0000 is to be triggered, without warning. Roadblocks and tank traps must be deployed to curtail SCP 0000’s movement. Following this, an attempt should be made to open SCP 0000, as described in addendum 1b. If the occupant prevents this, SCP 0000 is to be hit repeatedly with anti-tank weapons and high calibre cannons. This may incapacitate the occupant, then another attempt should be made. If this also fails, attempts are to be made every day until the occupant has expired naturally and an attempt is therefore successful.
If SCP 0000 is used for experimentation, a powerful electromagnet must be on hand to unlock SCP 0000, in the procedure specified in Addendum 1d. As a precaution, gasoline should not be introduced to SCP 0000 except during testing where this is necessary, and it should be siphoned without delay after testing.
Description: SCP 0000 is a modified Tiger II P tank from the second world war. There is no archival reference to the origin of the vehicle or the project which gave it its anomalous properties outside of SCP 0000/a. This is likely not because the construction of the vehicle was conducted in secret, though it may be, and more likely because the vehicles serial number has been repainted with an experimental 002 designation and the vehicles anomalous properties were acquired after it was written off or otherwise purged from the records. This repainting is evidenced by a slight discolouration in line with a reapplication of paint. The vehicle is equipped with an infra-red based night vision device, which does not exhibit the same anomalous properties as SCP 0000, possibly having been installed after whatever process made SCP 0000 anomalous. No reference has been found to a project to mount an infrared sight on a tiger II.
The main anomalous property of SCP 0000 is its complete invulnerability to damage. Attempts to damage the SCP by cutting, heat, pressure and kinetic force all failed and have since been stopped. Even attempts to chip paint or crack the optics failed completely, despite attempts using modern weapons, showing this invulnerability is not the fault of a specific metal or compound used in the vehicles construction.
SCP 0000 also has a secondary cognitohazard which makes anyone exposed for an extended period to the interior of SCP more likely to show symptoms of depression. Given sufficient exposure, suicidal behaviour becomes common. This was noted after the attempted suicide of junior researcher [REDACTED], who was responsible for the eventual opening of SCP 0000. The cognitohazard is only in a very limited sense consistent with the events detailed in SCP 0000/a. When SCP 0000 was first discovered all hatches were sealed and locked from within.
SCP 0000/a is a non-anomalous diary found within SCP 0000, a transcript of which is included in Addendum 3.
Addendum 1 - Experiment Logs
Proposed and executed by Senior Researcher Abadi
Aim: To create an entry to SCP 0000
Materials:
1X Diamond edged buzz saw
1X Blowtorch
1X Crowbar
1X Industrial strength laser
Procedure:
Use the above resources in any way deemed appropriate by researchers to enter SCP 0000
Results:
Attempts to cut any surface on SCP 0000 with the buzzsaw failed completely and destroyed the blade of the buzzsaw. Attempting to melt the hatch or any other surface on SCP 0000, except the infra-red lamp which we then removed to prevent its damage, failed. Attempting to pry any of SCP 0000's hatches failed, and led junior researcher Johnson to fall and injure his shoulder. Use of the industrial-strength laser was initially prevented by power limitations, following a break this was overcome and the laser was applied to SCP 0000, again with no effect.
Discussion:
SCP 0000 appears to be for all intents and purposes invulnerable. Judging by the concentrated energy we were able to apply to it, this SCP might comfortably survive the detonation of the on-sight nuclear warhead. If the SCP were not unopenable, this might be cause for concern. Additionally, since researcher Johnson decided to strike headlight as hard as he could, breaking his fist, we can reasonably conclude that pure unbridled human rage is also not the secret to unlocking this SCP.
Conclusion:
All attempts to access SCP 0000 failed.
We are looking for suggestions on how to open or damage SCP 0000. To incentivize this, the site director has kindly allowed for a prize pool to be formed for whoever figures this thing out, prizes include:
- A bottle of wine
- The section three research team covering your sick days
- My undying admiration
Good luck all, we expect only reasonable suggestions
Proposed and executed by Junior Researcher Johnson
Aim: To damage SCP 0000, and potentially create an entry point
Materials:
One Challenger II MBT
Procedure:
Fire one round of APFSDS at SCP 0000
Observe results
Justification:
If it works, we know it can only be damaged by weapons of war and we finally have our access point. If it doesn't, we haven't lost anything.
Results:
No damage was achieved
Discussion:
Despite significant enthusiasm from the research team this experiment proved a failure, however, we have acquired the knowledge that if we can replicate this effect on foundation vehicles and structures we will have an incredibly potent means with which to better contain SCPs.
Conclusion:
Research should be redoubled into copying SCP 0000's anomalous properties, the benefits for containment alone would justify any investment.
Proposed and executed by Researcher Hansen
Aim: To see the inside of SCP 0000
Materials:
One Optical Camera
Procedure:
Aim the camera through the assorted optics of SCP 0000 and observe its interior
Results:
We were able to get a clear vision of the inside of SCP 0000, which did not significantly differ from what we expected, save for the discovery of human remains in the driver's seat. These remains appear at least partially mummified, and while we were only able to view the head we theorise that they belonged to a male. Cause of death is not immediately apparent.
Discussion:
After realising we had not bothered to actually inspect the inside of SCP 0000 this course seemed obvious. We now know that SCP 0000 seems functionally identical to the actual tank and that if we can access the vehicle we should do so carefully as there appear to be several shells stocked in the ammunition racks.
Conclusion:
Continue research further
Proposed and executed by Researcher Johnson
Aim: To open SCP 0000
Materials:
One high powered electromagnet
Procedure:
Use one high power electromagnet, positioned according to where the opening mechanism is on a Tiger II, to move the bolt and open the hatches.
Results:
The hatches were successfully opened. We were able to explore the inside, in which we found 33 live shells and the corpse of one male. The male has been dead over a half-century and was wearing a German second world war tank captains uniform. Cause of death was determined to be suicide, from a single shot fired by a Luger pistol found on the floor of the tank next to the body. On the bodies lap we discovered a small leather-bound journal, written in German.
Discussion:
Having finally opened the vehicle we can explore it. The inside seems as impervious as the outside, save for the corpse, shells and any other disconnected pieces and artefacts we found floating around inside. Further analysis and a translation of the text is pending.
//Note: In reference to this, Researcher Johnson has been promoted from Junior Researcher. //
Addendum 2 - Memo on new containment procedures
From 04-[Redacted], site director
SCP 0000 poses a significantly greater risk now that it has been opened, as senior researcher Abadi has rightly pointed out. The risk that an entity or person might take SCP 0000 is relatively small, however, the consequences warrant worry. To reflect this, new containment procedures have been devised and implemented.
Addendum 3 - SCP 0000/a text
16/7/1934
I’m finally trying to keep a diary, like Greta suggested. I confess I personally am happy. My father would never have believed it, me, in university, and enjoying it. I know that Greta thinks it’s a little bit odd. When I first told her what I was studying she sounded so incredulous, I’ll never forget it, ‘A course just about mathematics? What good is that?’. She supports me now, and life has never been so happy. Heinrich is working in a factory nearby, he's doing a practical study in engineering. I'm glad to have him here or this would all be a bit too daunting for me.
I saw a corner store open again for the first time in something like three years, I take that as a good sign. Herr Hitler seems to be doing better with the economy than anyone else, so I finally have hope. Greta is vehement about it, she loves her time at the NS-Frauenschaft. I don’t know if I’m as committed as she is, but I’m glad to see her happy.
Translator's note: NS-Frauenschaft is a translated acronym, for the Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft, abbreviated NSWL in English. There is another date written for a few days later, however, nothing is written under it. The most plausible explanation is he forgot to keep writing the diary at this point, later entries are consistent in terms of handwriting to this first entry.
Results are astounding! 80mm side plate bounced 8.8Cm pak 43, despite no angling. For reference, armour penetration of shell was over 200 mm, results were successfully replicated several times.
When writing my report I must;
Stress our scientists need to know the procedure which achieved these properties
Remarkable nature of these proceedings
The potential non-combat benefits, thrown tracks and damage to engine components was one of our biggest problems on the eastern front.
Translator’s note: The date was not redacted, rather never filled in. This page was probably used as spare paper. Several surrounding pages were used for math which has no discernible purpose.

Things have gotten worse since I was first assigned here. Our experimentation has gone excellently, we have deemed that both of our projects have been successful. We have finalised testing of the vampire night vision equipment on both of our tanks, and the drivetrain we were supplied by the Waffen-SS has been used extensively and successfully. Neither of our two Tigers is immediately likely to break down now. I would be ecstatic, but we have been commanded to the front.
They say that our site will be hit by Americans within a week. OKW says they need everything at the front, apparently, that even means experimental vehicles. This Tiger is an amazing machine, but I thought that about the Panzer III, and that didn’t stop it from breaking down in Russian snow. Still, we’re professionals, and we’ve done this from Spain to Moscow. Heinrich is excited, we drew lots on who gets Panzer 002 and I won so there’s that. I think he doesn’t mind, he prefers a fair fight, he wants to know he really beat them.
I’m glad he’s here. I’ve seen so many aircraft fly overhead and I don’t think any are ours, this all feels hopeless somehow, but I believe in the fatherland. Hitler pulled it off in ‘33, he can do it again, and so do my friends. What else is there to do.
4/1/1945
We’ve met up with the 102nd Volkssturm company - HitlerJugend. They’re all kids, they must’ve uprooted a whole Hitler youth camp, put them in uniform, given them some training and sent them to us. I outrank the company commander, so does Heinrich, so maybe we can keep them out of too much trouble. Apparently we got lucky, the Hitler youth is better trained than the regular Volkssturm, and better equipped too. Military training was part of their program I guess.
I talked to Heinrich about it, and he seems at least a little worried. I’m not sure if that was for my benefit though. I did some math and the median age of these guys is 15.6, 16.1 if you include our two tank crews. The company commander is eighteen, and the youngest I saw was twelve, apparently, the little kid racked up a kill on a T-34 using a panzerfaust and that’s his job now. This whole thing seems insane to me, I talked with Heinrich about trying to avoid combat for the sake of saving the kids, but he just warned me about defeatism and said that anyone who is willing to sacrifice for the fatherland should be appreciated as the hero they are, and not held back. I think it’s bothering him though.
The company leader is a nice lad. He’s driven, and he makes jokes with all his soldiers. I think he genuinely cares about them, he seems committed, given the time he would make a fine commander. Maybe he’ll help me keep them safe.
Translator's note: The Volkssturm was a last-ditch effort made by Nazi Germany to turn the tide of the war, conscripting old men, and boys as young as twelve, into often poorly armed and trained units.
