'An Innocent Swede'

Item #: SCP-4883

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4883 is housed in an altered humanoid containment unit. Care should be taken to minimize the number of small concealable objects in SCP-4883’s containment unit. Additionally, all large objects in the unit must be securely bolted to the chamber walls, floor, or roof. The door to the chamber must be a steel-reinforced sliding door.

Efforts should be made to keep SCP-4883 entertained. Entertainment must be administered via a large screen securely attached to the wall. Movies, internet access, and reading material are all to be administered through this medium. If it is somehow imperative for SCP-4883 to read a text of which there is no digital copy, staff are advised to photograph the text page by page and display these images on the aforementioned screen. Under no circumstances is SCP-4883 to be provided with weights-based exercise equipment.

SCP-4883 must meet twice weekly with a Foundation approved psychologist. SCP-4883 is not to be alerted to the coverup described in Addendum 1. SCP-4883 is allowed access to a Foundation approved lawyer; the lawyer must be briefed on the nature of SCP-4883, and the Foundation’s duty to contain anomalous phenomena. Providing SCP-4883 a lawyer can be used to calm SCP-4883 down from an agitated state, however, SCP-4883 should not ever be explicitly asked if it wants a lawyer.

Description:
SCP-4883 is a thirty-two (32) year old Caucasian male at 182cm in height. Facial characteristics include blonde hair and blue eyes. SCP-4883 is currently 110kg, however, a progressive decrease in weight has been observed in recent months. SCP-4883's native language is Swedish but is reasonably proficient in both German and English. Native speakers have identified that both are spoken with an identifiable accent. SCP-4883 identifies itself as [REDACTED], in line with documentation recovered from Swedish authorities on SCP-4883.

SCP-4883’s anomalous property allows it to manipulate kinetic energy within a sphere 2-meters in diameter. This effect is centred around its torso. The means by which SCP-4883 achieves this remains unknown. Notably, SCP-4883 does not possess the ability to store this energy within itself, nor does it possess the ability to create kinetic energy, meaning SCP-4883 appears to follow the first law of thermodynamics. SCP-4883’s anomalous properties seem to be bound by the mental capacities of SCP-4883. While SCP-4883 is clearly not forced to consider every individual atom it is affecting, it seems to be limited both in the complexity of its task and the number of tasks it can perform. This may be a phenomenon in line with the limits of human cognition, specifically multitasking. Objects within SCP-4883’s influence do not appear to exhibit any anomalous properties unless SCP-4883 is acting on them consciously. The nature of the effect of gravity on an object SCP-4883 is ‘holding1’ remains unclear.

SCP-4883’s mental state has been deteriorating since it’s containment, an effect which has become more pronounced since the events detailed in Addendum-2a. SCP-4883 appears unwilling to fatally harm Foundation personnel, in spite of efforts taken by personnel to hinder it violently. SCP-4883 has expressed the desire to return to its previous life and offered repeatedly to give up its anomalous properties if this could be facilitated. As of [REDACTED]/2019, SCP-4883 has begun exhibiting symptoms associated with depression. No means is currently known of removing SCP-4883’s anomalous properties.

Foundation staff concerned about ethics in regards to the treatment of SCP-4883 are referred to Addendum 3.
