5794
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5794 is to be secured in a reinforced 3m x 3m x 3m containment chamber at Containment Area 179. Armed guards are required to be outside of the containment chamber at all times as to not let unauthorized personnel inside. An onsite warhead is to activate during an XK-Class End-of-the-World Scenario.
Every six weeks, all personnel other than guards that are assigned to SCP-5794 are to be rotated out for both psychological and physical check-ups. In most cases, personnel will be required to take psychological counseling, although a small percentage will not. Before being assigned to SCP-5994, all personnel must go through a 12-month physical training program and pass all six fitness tests following those 12 months. They will also be required to attend a diagnostics interview and screening for mental health.
Description:
SCP-5794 is an 18th-century steel archway measuring 2.74 meters in height, and 203 cm in width. The steel radiates soft yellow light that pulses in and out in intervals of 2.4 seconds. The reasoning behind this is unknown. The arch is active at all times and upon walking through it, the subject will disappear and be taken to an alternate reality.
It is unclear whether the alternate reality (SCP-5794-A1) is limitless or not. All persons transported to SCP-5794-A1 find themselves in a thick jungle resembling that of the ██████████ in South America. This jungle is approximately 140 km in length. Upon reaching the edge of the jungle, it is apparent that there is one other extreme biome that is separated from the jungle by a ravine of unknown depth. The ravine has strong radiation leaking from it that originates from a point approximately 9100 km down.
Note: There is speculation that the ravine could have life forms below, but it is undiscoverable by all methods deployed.
SCP-5794-A1 contains two separate biomes divided by a distinct line. The second biome is a tundra with winds that peaked at 724 km/h. This biome is completely devoid of life.
Transport location within SCP-5794
Addendum-5794-A: After sending D-████ through SCP-5794, MTF Alpha-4 "Red Kingsmen" was deployed to retrieve D-████. Their first description reveals that SCP-5794 transports all persons walking through to an alternate dimension that appears to be a thick jungle. After receiving D-████, Alpha-4 was ordered to explore SCP-5794-A1 with caution.

Alpha-4-1: Command we're heading in for potential rescue. Alpha-4, get ready for anything.
Command: Copy that 4-1, proceed with caution.
[Alpha-4-1 slowly walks through the archway, finding himself transported into the middle of a jungle, next to D-████.]
Alpha-4-1: Alpha, it's safe to proceed. Appears to be a jungle of sorts. Plenty of life but nothing anomalous among them.
Alpha-4-2: Copy that Captain. Entering now.
[The rest of Alpha-4 enters through the archway, joining Alpha-4-1.]
Alpha-4-1: D-████, proceed through the archway, a guard will escort you back to your cell. Command, permission to proceed?
Command: Permission granted.
Alpha-4-3: Captain, the radars aren't picking anything up. Not even the terrain.
Alpha-4-1: Copy. Keep your heads on the swivel. There's plenty of things that could kill us out here.
Alpha-4-2: I'll take 4-4, 4-8, and 4-9 to the south. Make sure you don't stray from the group. We have plenty of resources but we may run out depending on how far we go out.
Command: You should return after three days at the latest.
Alpha-4-2: Copy. Bravo squad, let's move.
[Alpha-4-2 takes his squad in a southern direction while Alpha-4-1 takes the others in the opposite direction, nailing small pieces of fabric into the trees so they can make their way back to SCP-5794.]
[Two hours later…]
Alpha-4-2: Captain, have you guys gotten any contacts?
Alpha-4-1: Negative, 4-2. We're about to scout the nearby area from above.
[Alpha-4-5 starts climbing up a large tree. Near the top, he stops momentarily.]
Alpha-4-5: From where I am, I don't see any contacts. There doesn't seem to be a clear way out of the jungle, so I have no idea if it even ends. I'm going to start-
[A baboon leaps from 4-5's left and onto him, flinging him off of the tree while biting into his neck. A large group of baboons quickly swing across the foliage up above, following the other. 4-5 slams into the ground making a loud snapping sound.]
Alpha-4-1: Contacts! We have contacts! Open fire on the monkeys!
[Alpha squad fires their rifles at the baboons, killing 5 before the baboons retreated back into the treetops. Alpha-4-3 quickly runs over to Alpha-4-5 to check for a pulse.]
Alpha-4-3: No pulse. He's not breathing either. Two of his ribs broke the skin.
Alpha-4-1: 4-5 is KIA. Fucking monkeys killed him. Watch for attacks from all directions including above Bravo squad.
Alpha-4-2: Copy.
<End Log>
Post-Addendum Report: All radios died an hour after the first contact, all within two minutes of each other. Alpha-4-8 died due to heatstroke which was caused by extreme heat and high humidity. Alpha-4-9 was killed by a gorilla, which was then terminated by the Bravo squad. After the three casualties, Alpha-4-1 called for a retreat and a redraw of future plans to explore SCP-5794-A1. Trained MTF units were called in to replace those that were terminated in this event.
Addendum-5794-B: After several practice runs of exploring the jungle within SCP-5794-A1, MTF Alpha-4 "Red Kingsmen" went on an expedition to go out as far as possible attempting to find an end to the jungle. They successfully traveled north until they reached the edge of the jungle, finding the second biome within SCP-5794-A1 with no casualties.

Alpha-4-1: There's no way… there's actually an end.
[Alpha-4 approaches the ravine, looking across at the tundra.]
Alpha-4-6: That looks like one hell of a drop. I can't even see the bottom.
Alpha-4-2: Why don't you go down there (chuckles.)
Alpha-4-1: That's not that bad of an idea. We're practically prepared for anything at this point.
Alpha-4-6: Wait… huh?
Alpha-4-1: You heard me 4-6. Get the climbing gear ready you're going down.
Alpha-4-6: Can't we just try and go across. That's probably a better idea.
Alpha-4-1: Do you see those damn winds? They would fling you in there anyway but without any ropes.
Alpha-4-6: Okay… Copy that sir.
[Alpha-4-6 gets the climbing gear ready for the descent down the ravine.]
Alpha-4-6: Alright I'm ready for the descent. 4-7 hand me the flashlight.
[Alpha-4-7 hands him the flashlight, and he begins to descend into the ravine.]
Alpha-4-6: It's fucking scary down here. I can't see a thing. Barely can see [UNINTELLIGABLE] the flashlight…
Alpha-4-2: 4-6 come in? You're beginning to cut out.
[Coughs can be heard on the radio and occasional yelling.]
Alpha-4-6: [UNINTELLIGABLE] rads are [UNINTELLIGABLE] 240 meters. Ahh-
[The rope used to secure Alpha-4-6 went taut and started to tear. The rock holding it in place gave out, causing the rope to slip out of the cliffside.]
Alpha-4-1: Shit. Looks like there is a good amount of radiation down there. Command, 4-6 is KIA. We will be starting our return path shortly.
Command: Copy. We will be making attempts to explore the ravine in the future. What are you're thoughts on sending more people down there?
Alpha-4-1: Considering the fact that there is sever radiation down there, I advise against it but it's your call.
Command:** Alright. Stay alert and make it back to the facility safely. Command over and out.

SCP-5794-A1 is controlled by an omniscient entity that if not satisfied, will cause mass destruction, possibly leading to the extinction of the human race. In order to please the entity, it is required that an MTF unit is dispatched to SCP-5794-A1 weekly. To our knowledge, containment procedures are irrelevant due to the presence of the entity. The discovery of said entity was through large scale electromagnetic scans of SCP-5794 under the supervision of the O5 Council. It is clear that the entity is a major controlling factor in what happens to the dispatched MTF unit within SCP-5794-A1. The entity has been seen in physical form once during Incident-5794-█-A and takes shape of an appendage-like figure with blades along the sides. These figures take the visual form of an extremely dense shadow in 3-dimensional shape. The procedure for containment of the entity provided above was a unanimous decision provided by the Overseer Council after the entity became unstable due to a lack of presence within SCP-5794-A1. This instability caused the deaths of ██ facility staff (reference Incident-5794-█-A). The entity requires more frequent activity within SCP-5794-A1 which was deducted after Incident-5794-█-B, which was significantly more catastrophic than Incident-5794-█-A. It is predicted that Incident-5794-█-C (if it were to occur) could pose a serious threat to humanity.

Event:
After two weeks without sending an MTF exploration unit into SCP-5794-A1, disturbances were picked up using large scale electromagnetic scans. At 3:31 pm, shadow-like appendages jutted out of the archway (presumed to be the physical form of the entity) breaking straight through the containment chamber. More appendages came out from the same location and killed all the guards stationed at the containment chamber, three doctors, and two of the researchers assigned to SCP-5794. Since the incident, the chamber has been repaired (although this has no effect on the containment of SCP-5794) and the lost staff members have been accordingly replaced.

Event:
A nuclear explosion was reported in Puerto Rico without any signs of explosives. Small tremors had been coming from an origin point 0.6 m from SCP-5794 25 hours prior to the explosion. It has been deduced that there were no explosives involved in the explosion, leading it back to the entity contained within SCP-5794.
