Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in Safe-Containment-Locker-XXXX at Site 19. The object is never to be removed from it's containment locker under any circumstances, unless for testing purposes, or by no less than four Level-3 security approval. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-A are to be restrained and administered class B regressive anmestics and are to be treated according to protocol SCP-x Alpha1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a green tinted 6.98 cm x 5.23 cm x 0.66 cm 3rd Generation Apple iPod nano, Previously owned by ███ ██████. When turned on, a list of songs appear on the screen ranging from 2007 to present day. None of the songs appear to date further back than March 3rd, 2007. At current moment, the full list of song has not been recorded, as the list of songs is so extensive that it is commonly considered to have all patented songs from March 3rd, 2007. The earliest song recorded is ██████, by █████ ███, regardless of any conditions.
Whenever any song is played, SCP-X will begin playing songs continuously in a random order. If there are any humanoid biologics within a nine meter area of SCP-X, or within audible distance, SCP-X will take immediate possession of the personnel, and the personnel shall be further classified as SCP-X-A. Scp-x-a will attempt to keep scp-x within his possession, ignoring all outside distractions, and going as far as to ignore human bodily needs and urges2, leading to the most common cause of death of scp-x-a instances, dehydration.If SCP-XXXX-A is separated from SCP-XXXX by any means, SCP-XXXX-A will begin showing signs of extreme distress, and frantically attempting to retrieve SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-A will omnipotently know at all times where SCP-XXXX id located3. After 24 hours of being separated from SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-A will then begin showing a progressive recovery, slowly becoming less frantic and more calm. After the 24 hour period has passed, SCP-x-A will have a 23.8 percent chance of no longer being under the affects of SCP-XXXX, and beginning the recovery process. If SCP-XXXX-A is unable to recover from the effects of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-A is to be terminated. After recovery, multiple personnel describe, 'instead of hearing songs, they heard a continuous voice, repeatedly chanting in an unknown language.' The voice has been described as being gravely, and having a middle-eastern accent. It has been reported on several occasions, personnel will periodically4 hear small snippets of the chant coming from an undecernable location, although said snippets seem to have no effect on personnel5.
It is at this point unknown why these effects occur, though evidence found inside SCP-XXXX points towards a potential creator of the device. SCP-XXXX had previously been dissected in order to find an explanation for these anomalies. The motherboard inside was signatured ‘property of J.A.J’ in █████ brand marker. J.A.J. whose full name is Joseph ███ ███████ is known to be an ex-foundation member, before he was declared missing on ██/██/20██. When personnel were sent to his residence, they found that he had died several days prior. The house was searched by the personnel, however, no pieces of the iPod, nor any equipment that would have been required for the making of SCP-x were found. Autopsies performed by the foundation found that he had died of starvation, as he was incapable of performing basic activities since being discharged. The current whereabouts of his caretaker, ███ ████, are unknown, and multiple missing person reports have been filed in an attempt to find her.
Recovery: Scp-X was found in the home of ████ █████ on ██/██/20██, following his death several days prior. Local law enforcement found SCP-x in his right hand after investigating a smell complaint by a neighbor. Agents were immediately dispatched after reports were filled following the death of two officers by ██ ███, who had taken SCP-x into her own possession. All peoples involved were executed at the arrival of MTF-Gamma-9, and scp-x was contained and sent to Site-██.
