SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

flickr:48293235967

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

The entity must be placed inside a closed cubic container with a glass side to allow observation, a locked, airtight door to allow access, a moisture level of 57-68%, and with the dimensions of 28 x 28 x 28 centimeters or smaller, though not smaller than 10 x 10 x 10 centimeters. The entity is to be handled by one person who has no smoking experience. The person must be wearing lab-safe gloves, and must be careful not to apply pressure, or any kind of force more than 40 Newtons.

The container is not to be within 10 kilometer vicinity of any Nicotiana Tabacum, Cannabis, rolling paper, rolling filter, substances containing nicotine, or any matter which can be ignited and it's byproduct inhaled.

Description:

The origin of SCP-XXXX is as of unknown.

The entity:

  • Resembles the appearance of a Gastropod.
  • Is approximately 3 centimeters long, 0.85 centimeters wide when stationary.
  • Has a 0.2 millimeter coat of mucus as it's most outer layer, providing protection against sharp objects, dust, and micro organisms.
  • Is brown when nourished, brown/gray when unfed.
  • Appears to be as aware of it's surroundings.
  • Can move with a speed of 0.013 meters per second, using the same technique as a normal Gastropod.
  • Appears to be able to sustain it's existence by ingesting smoking products. These smoking products include:
    • Rolling Paper
    • Rolling Filters
    • Cigarette/Joint/Bud Remnants
    • Nicotiana Tabacum/Tobacco
    • Cannabis/Marijuana
    • SCP-420-J
    • Substances containing 0.04% or more nicotine
  • Can tolerate famine for up to 3 hours
  • Can instantly travel distances up to 10 kilometers to the closest matter the entity can ingest, using an unknown method, in case the container, or the 50 centimeter radius area the entity is in lacks matter which SCP-XXXX can ingest. No type of closed container can contain the entity. The method SCP-XXXX uses to travel instantly was named "Teleportation" by the scientists at the Site ███. Henceforth, this ability will be called "Teleportation" in this document.
  • Can poison the person, or animal which gets in touch, or digests the entity. The type of poison the entity produces contains cyanide, and may cause the death.
  • Can take a more vivid brown color by ingesting more nicotine.
  • Can not be killed. Although the body of the entity appears to be dead; when the body of the entity is crushed, decomposed in acid, blown up with explosives, exposed to radiation, dismembered, or ingested; another SCP-XXXX, henceforth named as SCP-XXXX-1, appears next to the nearest nicotine containing substance, smoking product, or smoking product remnant.
  • Was nicknamed "Gastrobud" by the scientists located at the Site ███.

The first visual contact with SCP-XXXX was made in 2019, while testing the effects of SCP-420-J. Initial conclusion was that the entity belonged to Gastropod Class. Upon further observation, the entity started moving towards a Cannabis joint remnant which was left on the ground, not more than 50 centimeters away. After reaching the item, the entity formed what appeared to be an oral cavity, and ingested the item, instantly changing to a more vivid brown color. Following this phenomenon, the entity teleported to a close-by room containing a cigarette. Subsequently, the entity was contained by MTF Epsilon-6.

Experiment Log:

Test One

Dr. [REDACTED]: This is experiment number 0. This experiment will be conducting on SCP-XXXX. We will try to observe the entity's effects on humans and animals when a D-Class subject, and a lab-rat comes in contact with the entity, without any protective equipment.

Conclusion:

When subject D-████, and lab-rat #███ came in contact with SCP-XXXX, and maintained the contact for exactly 1 second. The subjects died after 3 minutes and 38 seconds, foaming at the oral cavity of the subjects, and blood samples suggest that the subjects were poisoned. Upon further investigation, small doses of cyanide were found in the blood samples.
