Item #: SCP-5038
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5038 is currently contained within its own packaging on a table in the cafeteria at Site-19 (as seen in the picture). Access to SCP-5038 is granted to all facility personnel with level 2 security clearance or higher. A match a day is allowed, as to not disturb SCP-5038 in a damaging manner.
Description: SCP-5038 has the appearance of a vintage 1974 UNO deck. The packaging of the deck contains the production number (████-5), date of production (19██), instructions, and the list of cards contained in the package.1
It is capable of infinitely producing UNO cards as long it detects at least two players. SCP-5039 will continue to infinitely produce cards until someone either finishes their hand or gets up, leaving only one player at the table. The SCP will refuse to generate more cards if the same player plays more than 2 rounds each day.
After research and testing conducted by Dr. ███████████ and his team, it is now known that SCP-5038 is capable of detecting body heat.
Here are some words from Dr. ███████████
Interviewed: Dr. ███████████
<Begin Log, 17:13 ██/██/████>
Dr. ███████████: The SCP uses biological sensors to detect if any potential players are sitting near or around the deck. If it detects humans then the cards will start automatically materializing under the deck. The deck must be removed from the packaging, placed face down, as to not destroy the packaging.

History: SCP-5038 is one of the first UNO card decks ever produced. SCP-5038 was first discovered by a farmer living near the town of ███████ on the date of ██/██/2001.
The farmer was interviewed on the date of ██/██/2005, a day later after he reported the anomaly to the Foundation.
Here is the transcription of the interview.
Interviewed: ██████ ████
Interviewer: ████████ █████
Foreword: Interview with ██████ ████ about SCP-5038.
<Begin Log, 20:24 ██/██/2005>
Interviewer: We are here today to talk about the anomaly you've reported, is that correct?
Person: Yes, siree.
Interviewer: Can you give us information on how you've found the anomaly?
Person: Yeah… I was walking down the street, coming back from my job at ██████, when I saw this weird deck of playing cards on the ground. It looked old so I figured I could sell it to a collectionist or something. I brought it back home, opened the deck, and started reading the rules. The game seemed fun so I and my wife started playing. After a few minutes, we realized that the deck was creating more cards constantly. We closed the deck and never played since.
Interviewer: How come you reported the anomaly to the SCP Foundation?
Person: Oh, well. I read about you guys in a newspaper so I figured I'd give a call, and here- and now we're here, talking about my discovery.
Interviewer: Thank you for your time. Is there anything else you want to add?
Person: That's all sir.
<End Log, 20:30 ██/██/2005>
Closing Statement: SCP-5038 was discovered along the side of the road by a farmer in ███████. SCP-5038 detected players and started producing cards immediately after discovery.
