Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a 10 m x 10 m room, wich must be cleaned at least bi-weekly of any residue from testing.
SCP-XXXX-1 must remain in a standard medium security storage lock-box at the center of the room. Copies of the key may be handed in a need to use basis.
The removal of SCP-XXXX-1 from containment may only be done by personnel with written authorization from level 3 or higher researchers.
Remaining SCP-XXXX-2 instances must be incinerated after every test conclusion.
In the event of a containment breach or if hostile actions are taken by SCP-XXXX-2 wich may treathen containmentt, all lighting must be removed from the enclosure of SCP-XXXX. All personnnel must evacuate the room until every instance of SCP-XXXX-2 returns to an innactive state. At this point SCP-XXXX-1 shall be returned to its lock-box.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of a 30 cm x 30 cm x 30cm black galena cube (Hereby called as SCP-XXXX-1). X-ray readings show a small metal object in the shape of a sphere with a diameter of 12 cm in the center of the object. When SCP-XXXX-1 is in use a light sound of metal scrapping can be heard coming from inside the cube, theorized to be the metallic sphere slowly rotating around its own axis. The sound only stops when SCP-XXXX-1 becomes dormant again and when no instance of SCP-XXXX-2 remains active.

If SCP-XXXX-1 is exposed to a brightness of at least 1000 Lumens, the cube will switch to an "Active" state.
If no instances of SCP-XXXX-2 remain active, SCP-XXXX-1 will start a "Generation" routine, consisting normaly of 3 phases:

  1. Expansion phase: A viscous gray substance1 starts emanating from the walls of SCP-XXXX-1. The fluid quickly tries to covers the floor in a circular fashion around SCP-XXXX-1 until it encounters resistance of any kind. Approximately 1 minute later the substance will start growing in patterns similar to tectonic plates, creating diverse geological formations such as hills, mountains, plateous and depressions. This phase ends with the forming of lakes and rivers of various sizes from a blue version of the substance. No evaporation or precipitation has been detected, and water level will remain constant unless disturbed by SCP-XXXX-2 or external stimuli.
  2. Genesis phase: This phase will start after approximately one minute after the end of the Expansion phase. The substance starts growing entities simulating earth's flora and fauna. Small trees and bushes will form from the ground, followed by animals with simple shapes designated collectivelly as SCP-XXXX-2. These creatures appear to act analogous to their earth's counterparts, predating other individuals and reproducing asexualy. Every generation seems to produce random mutations to be tested in a sort of "Evolution".
  3. Civilization phase:After aproximately 12 generations SCP-XXXX-2 will produce a sapient species. This species quickly expands all over the terrain produced by SPC-XXXX-1. The Sapient Species, hereby designated as SCP-XXXX-2A, will quickly advance their tecnological capabilities, analogous to human tecnological development.

As long as a the cube is kept within an ilumination level of less than 1000 lumens the cube manifests no unusual properties.
