Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locker located in Non-critical Storage Unit 5. It should not be removed unless being transported to a research facility, it should only be transported by level 3 security clearance or higher personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an Er Hu or a Chinese violin (circa 1000) made from rosewood with a bamboo bow and also fitted with a strap made from intertwined rosewood bark. The item weighs 5kg and is 81cm in length.
When played SCP-XXXX will cause people who can hear it apart from the player to become aggressive and attack each other, however when the item's sound is projected via speakers or other means of projecting sound the effect won't take place. However, the item's song is able to be heard when submerged under a liquid; tests are ongoing to see how it achieves this.
Additional Information: As a result of the many tests conducted on SCP-XXXX, this list has been provided to put the tests into chronological order.
Test 1: SCP-XXXX's music is played to subjects via a speaker system, subjects show no outward signs of aggression.
Test 2: SCP-XXXX is played directly to two subjects who are deaf, they immediately begin to attack each other knockout gas is dispensed in the testing chamber to stop the subjects from killing each other.
Test 3: Subject with no knowledge of playing the Er Hu is asked to play SCP-XXXX, the subject is able to play SCP-XXXX with the skill of a professional, however when played to other subjects the subjects show minor signs of aggression towards each other. Then a subject who is a professional at playing the Er Hu is asked to play, this causes the subjects to immediately become alarmingly aggressive and attempt to tear each other's throats out.
Test 4: SCP-XXXX is played while submerged in water and is able to be heard.
Test 5: Item is played to a selection of animals and shows to have no effect on their behavior.
Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX was recovered during an archaeological excavation in ██/██ /20██ near ████████. The item was discovered by an undercover agent working as an escort for the digging party, when one of the archaeologists began to play it, causing ██ casualties, Class A amnestics were quickly applied to all the survivors and the deaths were attributed to a workplace accident. The item was then taken into the custody of the foundation.
