Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Safe
Special Containment Procedures: At the current time, SCP-XXXX is comprised of objects SCP-XXXX-1-B and SCP-XXXX-2-B, and are to be stored in secure locker storage facilities at Site-17 and Site-18 respectfully. Access to SCP-XXXX for any purpose is restricted to Level 3 (Secret) personnel, and removal of either SCP-XXXX-1-B or SCP-XXXX-2-B from their respective lockers must be approved by two (2) Level 4 (Top Secret) personnel, with intent for a full experimental procedure. While SCP-XXXX-1-B does not require monitoring, and may be contained in any acceptable Level 3 containment locker, SCP-XXXX-2-B must be contained within a Faraday cage, suspended by a shock-absorbent spring fixture within a Level 4 secure containment locker, and monitored at all times for any detectable amount of electromagnetic radiation. Although it is important to maintain due diligence while operating within or around the lockers containing SCP-XXXX, it is imperative that a minimum radius of 100m be kept between SCP-XXXX-1-B and SCP-XXXX-2-B.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a crystallized "pendant-like" object, composed of a solid "granite-like" base(SCP-XXXX-1), and an ethereal, transient gemstone (SCP-XXXX-2), which fits snugly into a recess located on the surface of SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from an active mining operation located at [DATA EXPUNGED], in a small sealed cavern located approximately 536m beneath the earth's surface. Immediately upon discovery, no anomalous effects were detected, however upon investigation SCP-XXXX was observed to manipulate electromagnetic radiation within an approximately 100m radius. Through unknown means, SCP-XXXX will effectively yet randomly scramble, or sometimes seemingly absorb, electromagnetic radiation, including the visible spectrum. While combined, SCP-XXXX has been noted as inducing a feeling of terror within those who view it, as the human brain is unable to comprehend the variances in the levels of lighting and colouring which surround the object, having an aura best described as a "living kaleidoscope". Aside from the minor emotional distress that SCP-XXXX may induce, the object is generally considered to be harmless when contained within a Faraday cage, as not to interfere with facility electromagnetic communications.
After initial delivery to Site-17, SCP-XXXX was placed inside a Faraday cage within a Level 3 storage locker. Upon first experimentation, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX may easily separate into its constituent components: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 (see experiment log 1). During this initial experimentation, it was also discovered that SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 will immediately enter an "activated" state when separated, and will begin to independently resonate and emit electromagnetic radiation, although at opposing phases, effectively cancelling each other out when close and having a diminishing effect as the objects are brought further from each other.
