The Trampoline

Item #: #4593
Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4593 is to be kept in a containment cell 5 meters by 5 meters by 7 meters. The silver ladder on its side to allow people in is to be ignored and never removed unless to trigger a BOUNCY-CASTLE event for further testing.

Personnel rank 3 or higher are allowed on the surface of SCP-4593 but are not allowed to jump or allow themselves to be more than 1 meter above the surface of SCP-4593 before making contact with it.

Description: SCP-4593 is a circular StrongFlex brand trampoline with a silver ladder that descends from the rim of SCP-4593 to the ground. It also comes with a black mesh net that shares its anomalous properties. The spring pad usually consists of blue, red, and yellow triangles in a tessellated pattern, but this is subject to change.

The diameter of SCP-4593 has been measured to be between 121cm to 457cm depending on the approximate square meterage of the surface SCP-4593 is resting on. The function used to determine the diameter size is $y\ =\ 0.0005402174x\ +\ 1.21$ with x being the square meters of continuous material underneath.

The trampoline mesh of SCP-4593 is a highly resilient polypropylene material with traces of unknown biological origin.

It has been noted that when a living subject or subjects descend(s) from more than 1 meter above the surface of SCP-4593 the surface will begin to descend normally cupping the subject(s) until it makes contact with the ground. At this point, SCP-4593 descends past the ground, transporting subjects into an extradimensional space through currently unknown means.

After a period of 2-30 minutes, spectators of SCP-4593 will begin to see the trampoline mesh recede from the extradimensional space and return to its original resting place with the subject(s) no longer visible nor present.

Discovery: SCP-4593 was found in [DATA EXPUNGED], Tennessee at 536 [REDACTED] Lane. When SCP-4593 was found the Foundation had a mole in the local police that received a call concerning seven missing children from a birthday party.

When the parents were questioned about SCP-4593 they said they bought it from an extremely nice old man that sold it to them at a wonderful price. All attempts to locate this individual have resulted in failure thus far.

Exploration Log 4593-A

Subject: D-8342.
Parameters: D-8342 was instructed to enter SCP-4593 and proceed to jump on the surface of SCP-4593. D-8342 was also outfitted with a two-way communication device that operated on shortwave frequencies.
Results: Upon D-8342 activating SCP-4593 the shortwave communicators both began to produce a loud feedback noise that promptly stopped, along with communication, once D-8342 entered the pocket dimension.

Subject: D-6492.
Parameters: D-6492 was instructed to enter SCP-4593 and jump once on the surface of SCP-4593. D-6492 was fitted with an experimental, long-distance communicator and a flashlight.
Results: After activating SCP-4593 D-6492 descends into the pocket dimension and no feedback is heard. Several seconds pass until D-6492's voice is heard through the communicator.

D-6492: "Doctor? are you still there?"

Dr. Macalahan: "Yes I'm still here D-6492. Please take a moment to look around the room and describe what you see."

D-6492: "It's really dark. I have the flashlight on and I can still barely see, but I'll do my best."

A few moments pass as D-6492 looks around the room

D-6492: "There's nothing in here… It's so cold… like a draft is coming in."

Dr. Macalahan: "D-6492 return to the task at hand. Describe everything you see."

D-6492: "The entire room is made out of trampoline fabric, it'd be kind of cool if it weren't so horrifying. Also, I see… Oh god."

Dr. Macalahan: "D-6492 please report what you see"

D-6492: "I see hands stretching the fabric from the other side. Like they're trying to get in."

Dr. Macalahan: "You mentioned there was a breeze. Are there any vents in the room?"

D-6492: "No, no vents that I can see, but there's a tear in the wall."

Dr. Macalahan: "Approximately how large is the hole?"

D-6492: "Big enough for me to fit through. It stretches from the floor to right below my head, so a little less than 2 meters? Wait… Something's coming."

Dr. Macalahan: "Something? Please describe the entity to the best of your ability."

D-6492: "It's super big, but it's trying to fit through the hole. Please doctor let me leave it's coming through."

Dr. Macalahan: "D-6492 remain calm and describe the entity."

D-6492: "It has these long tentacles and it's almost entirely black. It hurts my eyes to look at doc. I can't stand it."

Dr. Macalahan: "Please continuing looking at the entity D-6492. Has it entered the room?

A loud tearing noise is heard through the communicator

D-6492: "Tobias? What are you doing here? I never thought I'd see you again."

loud screeching and static are heard from the communicator

D-6492: "You need to show me something? You know I'd follow you to the ends of the Earth Toby."

Static is heard through the communicator followed by a quickly stifled scream as all communication is interrupted.
