Special containment procedure: SCP-XXXX should be kept in a refrigerated container or room between 1 and 5°C. SCP-XXXX should also be kept upright at all times during transit, testing and containment.

Note: All further tests with SCP-XXXX have been suspended without direct permission from Site-16 director, currently Dr Ridgwell.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a red fez hat 17.5cm tall and 15.4cm wide. SCP-XXXX expels a large amount of heat originating from where a person's head would conventionally go. Although there is no known reason for this large expulsion of heat, this is one of SCP-XXXX less interesting properties. SCP-XXXX has also been found to enhance brain functionality, resulting in IQ scores higher than 300. Up to SCP-XXXX’s successful containment on ██/██/2015, 9 total attempts were made to contain SCP-XXXX. This was due to the heat that SCP-XXXX is capable of expeling. After 3 failed attempts, this resulted in a mobile refrigerated unit having to be manufactured in order to transport SCP-XXXX to Site-16. It was discovered during an ottoman exhibition at the Natural History Museum, in London. Guests walking past the Exhibit reported feeling extremely hot and suffering from mild headaches. This has now been confirmed and explained to be directly caused by SCP-XXXX.

Test-log: To date there has been a total of 5 tests performed with SCP-XXXX, 4 by class-d personnel and 1 by a member of the general populous. The first test conducted by the Foundation at Site-16 was performed by class d-3141, which when SCP-XXXX was placed on top of the head of class d-3141, it resulted in class d-3141’s head being almost immediately incinerated. This test was an attempt to recreate the result from the member of general populous, whom after wearing SCP-XXXX had enhanced mental capabilities, far exceeding what should be physically possible for the human brain to manage. Mrs ████ now works for the Foundation as a containment engineer and is also being monitored for any signs of mental instability. Additionally to protect Mrs ████ identity at Site-16, she will now be referred to by her new name given to her by the Foundation.

The second test conducted by Dr Swan produced a different result again, causing class d-9265 to be declared brain dead within 3.14 seconds of wearing SCP-XXXX. Then Dr Ridgwell had a breakthrough and managed to recreate the brain enhanced state of Mrs ████ with class d-6535 showing extensive mental capabilities. Before the successful test, Class d-6535 was given a standard Foundation intelligence test, in which Class d-6535 scored 1%. After the test, the same Foundation intelligence test was given to Class d-6535, in which Class d-6535 not only finished within 30 minutes, but also scored 100%. Class d-6535 ultimately had to be terminated due to fear that they would be able to out smart security measures. Dr Swan attempted to further the success of Dr Ridgwell, which resulted in failure and class d-8979 being declared brain dead within 9.32 seconds, similarly with class d-9265. It is still not exactly known what cause these different results.
