Special Containment Procedures: A fortified barbed-wire fence is to be put up around SCP-5898 with 10 guards posted at the fence at all times. Video surveillance of the cave, as well as the second room, is mandatory. Any possessed or suspicious individuals leaving SCP-5898 are to located and terminated on-site with no exceptions. Failure to do so can result in a Class-X "Transfer of Consciousness Shift" Scenario. Recovery of affected SCP-5898-CX individuals is Alpha priority. Any exploration attempts into SCP-5898-A and beyond must be approved by Senior Researcher Alexander V███████ N██████ of Site-66 beforehand.

Description: SCP-5898 is a spatial anomaly located in the upper north of Russia at the coordinates ██.██████, ██.██████. Through outside observation, SCP-5898 appears to be a small cave with no notable plant growth within 5 meters of the initial entrance. The interior of SCP-5898 is similar to that of other caves in the surrounding area, with the exception of 38 small tunnels that have enough room for an adult human to crawl through. Each tunnel is infinite in length and will non-terminate with the exception of the 17th tunnel from the furthest left. The 17th tunnel continues for approximately 2 kilometres in length northwest before opening into another cave. The interior of the second cave is fashioned similar to a tearoom of 17th century Paris. Any items or objects found in the second cave have no living microbes or bacteria present within them1. Positioned in the far right of the room is a large metal door of unknown metal composition that approximately measures 8 meters in height; only accessible by pushing with blunt force. This door leads to an identical copy of the Paris catacombs that is by all known means, infinite in size. This replica of the Paris catacombs is hereby referred to as SCP-5898-A. Underground tests performed within the suspected area of SCP-5898-A yields no successful results with only dirt and other ground materials present.
SCP-5898-B refers to the specific coordinates of ██.██████, ██.██████ within SCP-5898-A. SCP-5898-B spans approximately 75014 metres in circumference. Any human individual that enters SCP-5898-B is subject to the following anomalous effects:
- Increased levels of anxiety and unease.
- Minor auditory and visual hallucinations. (Varies from person to person)
- Lack of timekeeping and spatial awareness skills.
- Possible interaction with SCP-5898-C.
- In rare cases (Approximately 0.012%), instantaneous combustion of the individual. The ashes of affected individuals are known to transmit a cognitohazardous effect, resulting in cardiac arrest after 1200 seconds from the original time a separate subject has physically touched the ashes.
All anomalous effects of SCP-5898-B excluding the second to the last bullet point cease to exist once an individual leaves the circumference of SCP-5898-B.
SCP-5898-C is a Class-8 consciousness transfer scenario that occurs after the results of an ESPIRIT-3 event. ESPIRIT-3 events happen when a humanoid creature capable of sentient thought performs [DATA EXPUNGED] within SCP-5898-B. Approximately 20 seconds after the [DATA EXPUNGED], the individual hereby referred to as SCP-5898-CX, will begin to recite the biblical passage of Revelation 14:13 1-10 times. This concludes with SCP-5898-CX transferring consciousness with SCP-5898-C1, an entity that refers to itself as "Jél-Eil". All interviews performed with SCP-5898-C1 have proven that it is fluent in both English and French, with minor linguistics errors. SCP-5898-C1 is especially capable of assuming the personalities, minds, and memories of affected hosts and is able to assimilate into human society with relative ease. SCP-5898-C1 has been shown to be hostile when questioned about its past or itself. Any individuals suspected of SCP-5898-C1 possession is required to be put through an ESPIRIT-3 Screening. If the individual fails the screening then they are to be terminated immediately with the corpse incinerated.
Addendum I: Through in-depth testing as well as Exploration Logs I-██, a containment breach of SCP-5898-C1 was discovered. Ongoing missions are pending to retrieve and terminate all subjects related to the "MEROVINGIAN-5" SCP-5898-C1 containment breach.
