Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside its box. The box where SCP-XXXX is contained within must be closed at regular intervals of ██ minutes. Only authorized personnel are to be allowed exposure to SCP-XXXX. As of yet its effects are considered non-hazardous, but not fully comprehended, care must be taken at all times when under exposed to SCP-XXXX. If a subject is exposed to SCP-XXXX, the subject must be kept under surveillance, until its effects fade away. If it is taken away from its box, SCP-XXXX must be returned to Dr-███████'s office, at the end of office hours.

Item SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside its box, on a pedestal at all times. Its containment room must be kept under surveillance all times, with cameras installed in every corner of the room and they must be regularly checked and adjusted to prevent blind spots.

SCP-XXXX will frequently open its box at regular intervals of ██ minutes, once this happens three D level operatives, each carrying a blindfold, must enter its containment room and close its box. A subject closes the box while, at all times, the other subjects maintain this person under their sight. During this procedure, no person is allowed to look at or touch SCP-XXXX.

Maintaining sight on a person glancing at SCP-XXXX has proven to prevent its addiction effect from taking place. If SCP-XXXX's effect would ever take place, all personnel should put a blindfold, move away from SCP-XXXX and turn their back, staring towards a wall.

If any personnel fails to comply with these orders, a rescuing procedure must take place to avoid the major incident [DATA EXPUNGED] from reoccurring. Any [REDACTED] event observed with any staff member are to be reported to Site Security immediately.

Rescue teams must be comprised of:

  • Three MTF Zeta-9 elite agents.
  • All agents must be wearing special black vest with zero visible-light refractance, infrared vision goggles and a silent tranquilizer gun.
  • All agents must be issued three tranquilize darts, carrying a heavy sedative that can incapacitate a 180 pound human male for up-to thirty minutes post-injection.

Any person under the effect of SCP-XXXX must be immediately tranquilized. They are to be detained and quickly sent to Sector 62-C. MTF personnel must proceed with caution if any visible influence from SCP-XXXX persists in the area around its pedestal. SCP-XXXX's jewelry box is to be closed once MTF personnel receives signalling from surveillance team. Detained personnel must be kept at Sector 62-C's infirmary until time has allowed the effects of SCP-XXXX to dissipate. They are must be brought on Sector 62-C Dr-███ █████'s office for further questioning. Any personnel lost to SCP-XXXX are to be deemed missing/KIA. No recovery attempts are to be made under any circumstances.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Emerald cut Amethyst gem with 12x10mm in size, dark purple in color, it has a non-usual conchoidal fracture and both its Mohs = ██ and its refractive indexes, nω = █.█33-█.█63 and nε= █.█36-█.█66, are far superior than regular Amethysts. In SCP-XXXX's bottom face the following words are carved:

One last time.

SCP-XXXX has shown the capability to spontaneously open its box in intervals of ██ minutes, it irradiates a bright reddish/purple light without any other actual light source nearby. The light it irradiates is in the visible spectrum wavelengths and is responsible for its effects. As such, wearing Infrared goggles are effective against SCP-XXXX's effect.

Individuals under the influence of SCP-XXXX feel the urge to see, touch and occasionally swallow it. It was initially kept in [DATA EXPUNGED] office. At that time its effects were not fully understood and it was previously considered Safe.

People who glared or touched SCP-XXXX felt well being and those who previously had any psychological trauma or sustained any physical wound would feel their condition improved as long as they remained under exposure to SCP-XXXX.

Long exposures to SCP-XXXX ultimately result into subject's disappearance and an small-sized origami with human form composed of Kami paper appearing in their place. Exposure to a group of people seem to decrease the chance of this effect to happen, until a threshold is met.

If its ultimate effect takes place, any surviving subjects will not have any recollection of the events, neither will remember any missing person's name. Due to the circumstances surrounding its origin the following interview was conducted with Researcher Takenaka:

Interview Log █████-A1

Date: ██-█-████

Subject: Researcher ███ Takenaka

[BEGIN LOG]

████: Can you describe exactly what happened at [REDACTED]?

Researcher Takenaka: I went to visit my [DATA EXPUNGED], since [REDACTED] it has been a while and the jewel, you know?

████: You are talking about SCP-XXXX?

Takenaka: No! Ah damn it is a SCP now? I thought that maybe [REDACTED], maybe had taken the crystal.

████: And you were right…

Takenaka: Yes I found it in [DATA EXPUNGED].

████: Can you tell us, in details, specifically what you told Researcher [REDACTED]?

Takenaka: Yes, of course. My [DATA EXPUNGED] smuggled the remains of SCP-1762 from my office to [DATA EXPUNGED]. I didn't notice it at first, until Dr-███████ asked to see its ashes. When we opened its containment capsule, it had vanished…

████: Proceed.

Takenaka: Then I went to see ███, place was abandoned, dust everywhere. Lots of unread mail on the floor, electricity didn't work. Probably had been shut off, due to nonpayment…

████: And SCP-XXXX? Where did you find it?

Takenaka: It was in [REDACTED], on ███'s desk. I found it odd, because there used to be other jewerly and stuff around. I found it because its box was open, it was shining bright, even in the dark. When I picked the box with it up, a piece of paper fell.

████: Can you describe this piece of paper?

Takenaka: It was like a human in origami form.

████: Your connection to SCP-1762 and the newfound SCP-XXXX didn't ring a bell?

Takenaka: No, I think I was under its influence, everything seems beautiful, everything seems ok, where is it?

████: Takenaka, refrain from mentioning SCP-XXXX.

Takenaka: Please ████, I need to see it. Where is it?

████: I think we need to end this interview earlier.

Takenaka: WHERE IS IT? I NEED TO SEE IT! PLEASE LET ME TOUCH IT! I NEED…

Interview ended prematurely due to Research Takenaka agitated state. He was sedated, but has no recollection of the previous event.

[END LOG]

Additional Information: SCP-XXXX was originally the remnants of SCP-1762, an Amethyst Crystal weighing ~[REDACTED] g. The uncut crystal remained under Researcher Takenaka's possession, until his [DATA EXPUNGED], a well crafted gem-cutter, visiting him smuggled the crystal out of his office. Nearly three years after the event which resulted in SCP-1762's dismiss, Takenaka noticed the absence of the crystal from his office.

Takenaka found the crystal under ███ ███-████'s possession, inside a jewelry box in his ████████. However, the crystal was cut into an Emerald gem, under further inspection, he found the same words carved in the bottom of the gem from its originating crystal gem and what appeared to be an Kami paper origami model which resembles a human being beside the jewelry box.

Addendum XXXX-04: Since [REDACTED] incident, SCP-XXXX drew attention from several staff members of different personnel levels from Sector ██, which in turn resulted in mismanagement as many people wanted to look at or touch SCP-XXXX, which is thought to be a collective memetic influence created by SCP-XXXX. After human error took place and caused the major incident [DATA EXPUNGED], SCP-XXXX was reclassified as Euclid. The event is considered a containment breach, since then any staff member or rescue personnel involved has been considered missing/KIA.
