Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
Containment Chamber:
For the Protection of the foundation against accident caused by the characteristics of SCP-XXXX it must be contained within a five by five chamber with 200mm thick latex retaining walls attached at the upper and lower most parts of the chamber. These latex barriers must contour the chamber, with one meter of empty space between the barriers and the true wall of the underground chamber. the barrier of latex is essential for situations when SCP-XXXX reaches instability for it helps cushion the walls from foundation breaking forces by repelling the subject from the walls. side note: SCP-XXXX will not break under any circumstance therefore making it dangerous for any person in its expansion range and the structural integrity of the building.

As SCP-XXXX is a wooden stool 98cm in stable form; and a living room 'sofa' that is 112cm tall 300cm wide and 97cm deep the chamber needs not to be above the hight of one and a half meters.

A hatch is required in the roof of the chamber which can be securely locked from the outside to help protect SCP-XXXX from any SCP containment breaches. this hatch is also useful for the general servicing of the cell as floor chipping may occur during in instabilities.

An infrared camera should be installed in any particular corner of the chamber within the latex barrier
on the roof of the chamber. This camera is to monitor any instabilities, temperature of any place in the chamber, humidity, radiation levels and the decibel reading of any noise in the room; so eventually science can comprehend why these mentioned instabilities happen, current studies find them anomalous.

feeding and welfare:
SCP-XXXX has no need to be fed at all as it is an inanimate object as far as any testing has found. As for the welfare of the subject if an instability is recorded for more than 320 seconds a worker must spray water onto the unstable subject from the servicing hatch until the subject is fully stable and resembles the attached image shown at the top of the document.

SCP-XXXX must be checked manually by a worker and compared to the attached image. any variables must be noted and reported. On top of these checks, all instabilities must be recorded with the following factors:

  • Length of instability
  • Time of the instability
  • Temp. of chamber
  • Humidity
  • Decibels in the room at the time of instability.
  • Radiation levels in chamber

In addition to this under no circumstance may any other SCP or worker enter the chamber. one exception to this it servicing where one worker at a time may enter with a construction grade helmet and steel toe cap boots to perform maintenance/cleaning. b

Description:
SCP-XXXX in stable form is a stool 98cm tall, made from wood of unknown origin. (refer to the attached image). Which in unknown conditions becomes unstable and shifts its form into a modern day sofa. SCP-XXXX was first formally recorded in 1826 by Vladimir Vernadsky; a soviet mineralogist and geochemist. prior to this SCP-XXXX has been recorded in stable form in cave drawings in Laas Geel cave paintings on the outskirts of Hargeisa in the northwestern region of Somaliland. these drawing date back over 5000 years.

SCP-XXXX is indestructible as SCP-XXXX is over 5000 years old and the paint is still in pristine condition. This makes it dangerous to humans as is transition from stable to unstable it changes forms instantly making being in the path of SCP-XXXX transitioning from stable to instable is 100% fatal; as it is comparable to being hit by a car traveling at the speed of light.

SCP-XXXX was taken into the care of the SCP foundation in 1998 when it had been given to the south african secret service by an art dealer specialising in tribal art after it has transitioned destroying half of his shop and killing his son.

Notes:
SCP-XXXX is still under scientific investigation by the foundation and needs be protected from any possible disturbance because variables unknown may cause SCP-XXXX to react in a completely new way which could be fatal.

SCP-XXXX has spent many years exposed to [DATA EXPUNGED] making it extremely dangerous to other SCP's.
