Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a normal containment unit. Typical containment unit dimensions are anywhere from 15x15x5 meters to 30x30x20 meters. The only additions made to SCP-Xxx container is a double security door in which a 20x20x5 centimeter one-way mirror is encased. This is to prevent SCP-XXXX from seeing anything/anywhere outside of its containment unit if confined for an indefinite amount of time (if SCP-XXXX becomes aggressive, another SCP breaches containment, etc.) A 50x25 centimeter hatch is located on the bottom of the door to provide SCP-XXXX with different materials or objects. Due to its nature in helping contain other SCPs, SCP-XXXX may be removed from containment by Class-C personnel or above as needed. Class-D personnel may interact with SCP-XXXX during the molting process.
When in confinement, SCP-XXXX's outer layer of material must be molted by personnel to prevent it from manifesting elsewhere. Molting must occur at least once every 18 hours. If molting does not occur, SCP XXXX will manifest itself somewhere that it has physically seen within the last 52 days. Due to this, it is inadvisable to allow SCP-XXXX to roam the entire facility. Whether SCP-XXXX manifests out of its room is due to a desire to escape, an uncontrollable bodily function, or just random choice, is not known. See Addendum #4
After manifestation occurs, SCP-XXXX appears to wait an average of 3 hours before moving again. Whether this is done in regard for its own health or not has yet to be determined.
SCP-XXXX has yet to make aggressive actions toward any personnel during containment. However, prolonged isolation can lead SCP-XXXX to become agitated. Due to the minimal risk, SCP-XXXX may roam freely throughout the wing of the site where it is contained (currently Site-11).
Description: SCP-XXXX most closely resembles Canis Familiaris and measures 1.8 m in length and 0.62 m in height. SCP-XXXX appears to be covered in a dust or ash-like material. SCP-XXXX does not need to eat to survive but will eat if given organic material. No discernible effect. SCP-XXXX has been noted to eat certain polymers such as silk or Teflon, they seem to have an effect on SCP-XXXX such as adrenaline would have on a human. SCP-XXXX's source of energy is yet to be discovered. SCP-XXXX has the ability to manifest itself anywhere that it has physically seen within the last 52 days (explained above). SCP-XXXX appears to 'like' objects and/or beings that are brightly colored and will manifest to them instead of other objects/beings. This conclusion is supported by the results from Experiment 3. This explains why SCP-XXXX was climbing on the cell tower in ████████, as it was painted in a bright coat of [DATA EXPUNGED]
SCP-XXXX was secured on 2/█/19█ in ████████, Utah. SCP-XXXX was observed climbing on the side of the cell tower next to █████. The witness reported SCP-XXXX and local authorities arrived. After determining the anomalous properties of the creature, The Foundation was alerted, and Containment Specialists were dispatched from Site-11. SCP-XXXX was secured and moved into containment with no issue.
SCP-XXXX has been observed to have an extremely adverse reaction to any fluid with a concentration of citric acid higher than 102 g/L. After exposed to highly acidic solution, a burning scent was observed and SCP-XXXX only traveled along the perimeter of the unit and occasionally thrashes on the floor. When exposed to [REDACTED], SCP-XXXX was found to enter a catatonic state. After exposure, SCP-XXXX's first movement occurred two days after exposure. Further testing is required.
SCP-XXXX appears to have a paralytic effect on anything that is near it when it manifests. Experiments have shown that SCP-XXXX's manifesting affects living organism as well as inanimate objects. Organisms moving speed are reduced by 30%, and it takes 30% more force to move an object the same distance that it would without the effect. The effect is presumed to be an increase in inertia in the affected object(s)/being(s). This theory has been disproven by Experiment 2
Addendum #1: 9/4/██: Dr. ███ Experiment 1 Log
SCP-XXXX is kept isolated from seeing anything outside of its containment unit for 18 hours. SCP-XXXX is then allowed to observe a metal ball, 1 centimeter in diameter. The metal ball was later drilled into a wood log (Lignum vitae) that measures about 50 centimeter in diameter and 2 meters in length. After 19 hours and 33 minutes (93 minutes into the manifestation threshold), SCP-XXXX manifested itself in the log, disintegrating all material that was preventing itself from existing within the wood. When manifesting inside of an object, an explosive-like effect occurs; this led to cracks in the log and the wood in front and behind SCP-XXXX incurred a mixture of explosion and disintegration. This would theoretically allow SCP-XXXX to move forward or backward out of the log. The log was located in a separate containment unit, no breach risk was apparent.
Addendum #2: 11/18/██: Dr. █████ Experiment 2 Log
SCP-XXXX was introduced to SCP-173 in SCP-173's containment cell and kept there for 30 seconds to observe SCP-173. After taken back to its cell and not molted for 18 hours and 4 minutes (4 minutes into the manifestation threshold), SCP-XXXX manifested itself into SCP-173s containment cell. After manifestation, SCP-XXXX was removed and the order to break all lines of sight was given. The recording of SCP-173 during Experiment 2 shows that SCP-173 is no longer able to teleport instantly. However, SCP-173 is able to move. SCP-173 appears to be moving very slowly (~8cm/second on average), apparently gliding across the floor without making any physical movements. SCP-173 seems to teleport very minimal distances at a time, which leads to SCP-173 appear to glide across the floor. This result of Experiment #2 defies the previous conclusion that manifestation reduces movement speed by increasing inertia required to move. If this was true, SCP-173 would still be able to teleport, no inertia is overcome when teleporting.
Addendum#2a: 11/20/██: Experiment 2 Note
Due to the effect SCP-XXXX had on SCP-173, potential for helping impede SCPs that have breached containment has been brought to the attention of the researchers assigned to SCP- XXX. This led to the change of the class from Euclid to Thaumiel
Addendum #3: 1/02/██: Dr. ███████ Experiment 3 Log
SCP-XXXX was introduced to SCP-999 and SCP-014, both for 30 seconds at a time. After 18 hours (12 seconds into the manifestation threshold; the fastest manifestation recorded for SCP-XXXX), SCP-XXXX manifested itself into SCP-999's room nine out of ten times. The experiment was repeated twice more, every time SCP-XXXX preferred to travel to the SCP of the lighter color.
Addendum #4: 3/12/██: Dr ████ and Dr ███████ Experiment 4 Log
After being moved to an open field outside of Site-11, SCP-XXXX ceased all manifesting. Left un-molted for 3 days, SCP-XXXX did not manifest once. This leads to the conclusion that, though SCP-XXXX is not violent or aggressive, it does not want to be contained.
