Description:
Investigation in SCP-XXXX indicate that it is a video that manifests itself on the online video streaming service YouTube. Details about the contents of the video, objects or individuals and all other details such as uploader or date are cause of SCP-XXXX anomalous effects still undetermined.
No apparent pattern of when and how SCP-XXXX manifests itself has been determined, and investigations into containing and "muting" the anomaly are still undergoing.
SCP-XXXX primary memetic effects manifests themselves in individuals who have viewed the SCP or inidividuals who have come into contact with infected individuals. Contraction of the memetic effects can occur through any means of communication including verbal, ASL1, writing and morse code. When an individual becomes subject to SCP-XXXX primary they will display a compulsive urge to share knowledge of the SCP with others. After initial contamination subjects will casually and unknowingly mention SCP-XXXX in normal conversation, instant messaging and other regular forms of communication. "as time goes on" this compulsion will become more pronounced and extreme, eventually leading infected subjects to obsessing over SCP-XXXX and sharing information about it in any form available to anyone from friends and family to complete strangers.
SCP-XXXXs secondary effects takes form as any affected subject to be completely incapable of recalling any details about the SCP. This effect extends to individuals, objects, narrative, name of uploader, comments etc. Affected individuals are able to approximate duration of video, however interviews as well as investigation into affected subjects internet history and activity shows a playtime ranging anywhere from 1min30secs to XXXXX. When subjects are first affected they display no forvirring with being unable to recall evidence, however when questioned about this subjects will display anxiety, confusion and in some cases aggressiveness.
Secondary effects escalate the longer the subject has been exposed, causing the affected subject to try and seek out SCP-XXXX or any evidence of SCP-XXXX. This can take form as searching and asking about information, which spreads contamination, as well as trying to locate the video. In severe cases subjects will forego food, bodily functions, sleep and normal behavior until exhaustion or death. Cases has also shown signs of subjects being prone to self harm including bludgeoning of head, hair pulling, eye gouging, clawing at face and head and some cases inserting objects into ears, nose and/or eyes.
In light cases, treatments with amnestics has proved succesful, however extreme cases are not responding to amnestics treatment.
