Changes to be made: Final Testlog implying previous beliefs regarding the SCP are incorrect, but only so OOC readers understand; When not in light SCP has other mental side effects, see below
Adapting anomalous properties to be more insidious in nature (less guaranteed aggression), long-term mental changes and different priorities. This can be tied in with another Addendum outlining the 'myths' surrounding the anomaly which show its owners becoming wealthy and self-interested. All owners end up in declining health (tie into Dr. Coram's departure)

A sample of SCP-XXXX-1
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid (See Addendum 05/11/1997)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in an light-tight 3m x 3m x 3m cell with a lead-lined door facing its northern wall, the Object shall be in the centre of the room in the glass box and marble pedestal that it was recovered in; covering the glass box shall be a vantablack cloth. The 3m x 3m x 3m room shall remain in a concrete 10m x 10m x 5m room, this is all within Site-███. Due to its anomalous properties SCP-XXXX's containment shall have no lights in it. All doors entering or within containment must be light-lock doors. All personnel working with SCP-XXXX shall have all light producing items or clothing kept in a secure locker outside of the Anomaly's containment.
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in darkness at all times, site personnel may not be in the Anomaly's presence wearing standard issue uniforms. Only prebuilt sensors and night vision cameras built into the cell may confirm the Object's presence inside its containment. All personnel working with SCP-XXXX shall be given the containment suits that prevent human bio luminescence for use when working within its containment. All guards for SCP-XXXX must also wear these containment suits.
Interaction with SCP-XXXX may only occur with joint permission from the current Project Lead combined and personnel with Level 3 clearance or higher, personnel interacting with it directly must number no fewer than three (3). All personnel interacting with the Anomaly must first change into the above mentioned containment suit. During interaction with SCP-XXXX no fewer than two (2) Level 3 personnel must be in the Control Room.
Following Incident-XXXX-3 SCP-XXXX's containment shall be checked fortnightly for any holes or gaps that may lead to a Containment Breach, as well as this all Level 3 Clearance or lower personnel working with the Anomaly may only work with it for at most 2 months; after which personnel must be reassigned.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a clump of unidentified mineral (with physical properties similar to metal sulphide ores) that currently has a mass of 10.5kg and roughly a surface area of 804cm2. It has an unknown melting point, but it has been recorded to withstand temperatures of 1500C as well as higher temperatures, such as ████C. Without light shining on it the Anomaly is comparable to a piece of Chalcocite ore1. With light shining on it SCP-XXXX is comparable to a piece of treated Chalcopyrite2; preliminary research indicates that in the presence of light SCP-XXXX does not emit its own light, but the Object does reflects light.
All current attempts to separate parts of SCP-XXXX result in a different substance, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is an Object which loses all the effects of SCP-XXXX immediately and over the course of up to 3 hours reverts into a mineral resembling unrefined Iron Pyrite3. Samples of SCP-XXXX-1 have only been gathered three (3) times since recovery and each sample, whilst not appearing to become smaller, loses 34-42% of its mass during the conversion. The Anomaly has been noted to grow in size and mass when light is present, preliminary research indicates that an increase in the Anomaly's size constitutes to an increase in the strength of the anomalous effects emitted by SCP-XXXX.
Whenever SCP-XXXX is in the presence of light the Object's anomalous effects manifest. Due to the long range of the anomalous effects (recorded up to 60km away) as well as the current belief that they are capable of passing through all known material experiments involving SCP-XXXX may only be done at Area-████ located in the ███████ desert. The anomalous effect of SCP-XXXX and cause (as currently understood) temporary and permanent mental changes which at best can be considered hormonal in nature. These symptoms can occur in those who have introduced to the waves for prolonged exposure (typically twelve (12) or more hours, but it has been recorded after ninety (90) minutes). Continual exposure (thirty two (32) hours or further) leads to increased affects.
Exposure to SCP-XXXX not exceeding 32 hours results in increased irritation, shortness of breath and muscle spasms and twitches. During this time period subjects may experience increased desires to settle disagreements and grudges in passive aggressive and violent ways, however as long as a subject remains not intoxicated violent outbursts will be directed towards inanimate objects - if occurring at all. After 32 hours of exposure effects mentioned beforehand will become more common, and new effects - such as general undirected anger - will manifest, resulting in violence towards other humans from 57% of subjects. However, preliminary investigations indicate that counselling and some antidepressants can counteract these effects. As well as this, a majority of subjects - after the 32 hour contact period - express desires to remain away from friends and family. If this is response due to Anomaly or some other part of the testing procedure remains undetermined.
Addendum 23/07/19██: SCP-XXXX was brought to the attention of the Foundation, and subsequently recovered, when in █████████, South Australia (19██) following reports of widespread violence and occasional riots a sleeper agent in the Australian Federal Police reported that police personnel involved in the case began to experience the effects many so-called drug users (which is what the Australian Police had labelled the incident as) in the town had. This concern became amplified when Commander █████ lashed out, breaking the rib cage of Commissioner ███████; according to interviews the two were known to be friends. The incident resulted in an estimated AU$█████ worth of property damage as well as one death and 23 hospitalisations.
Agents isolated the epicentre of the drug-like effects to the Gold Rush Museum, a former mineralogist working for the Foundation could not identify SCP-XXXX as any known mineral. Following onsite testing, resulting in the first recorded instance of SCP-XXXX-1, the importance of the Object became known and its subsequent recovery began. All individuals involved with the recovery were quarantined for one (1) month by the Australian government. Foundation Personnel involved were quarantined for an additional month.
Addendum 30/01/1997: Analysis of the urban myths of █████████, South Australia and SCP-XXXX have led Dr. Coram to the conclusion that the Anomaly may have first emerged during the Castambul Gold Rush. Persons involved in the Gold Rush, such as Mr. ███████████, became noted wealthy individuals in their local communities. However, over the course of the Gold Rush - and ending in 1860 - many withdrew from society and were later found emaciated and on their death beds. This began a local 'curse' of sorts in South Australia. Few records of this remain, but 'old wives' tales' indicate that each individual involved in the rumours possessed glowing stones.
Whilst the discovery of SCP-XXXX may change the most probable conclusion, those who remain interested in the folktale assumed these people may have owned uranium ore - considering the that one of Olympic Dam Mine's (which is also in South Australia) products is uranium.
Addendum 05/11/1997: Following further study of SCP-XXXX its Safe classification shall be immediately suspended and it shall be upgraded to Euclid, see Incident-XXXX-3. Whilst new containment is being built it shall temporarily be buried at Site-████ in concrete.
Addendum 08/██/1998: Due to the events of yesterday D-Class personnel shall be temporarily suspended from interacting with SCP-XXXX, see Incident-XXXX-4.
Addendum 17/06/1999: D-Class personnel shall return to interacting with SCP-XXXX. D-Class personnel with identified mental health problems shall remain suspended. D-Class personnel with identified mental health problems may interact with SCP-XXXX in experiments.
Addendum 01/09/2001: Following a decision from the Ethics Committee a moratorium on testing SCP-XXXX with D-Class personnel shall be in place from a week today until ██/██/2003; this is due to the perceived long-term mental affects of SCP-XXXX and the unexplained nature of the Object. In the meantime testing SCP-XXXX's properties on animals has been greenlit.
Addendum 04/10/2003: Following Incident-XXXX-6 testing with animals has been cancelled, all Level Two Clearance or higher personnel involved with the animal testing report to Dr. Coram's office this Friday for debriefing and appropriate punishment where applicable.
Addendum 17/04/2004: Dr. Coram's involvement with SCP-XXXX has been terminated as of today, all personnel working with SCP-XXXX are reminded that [DATA EXPUNGED] is inappropriate and personal testing of other Foundation anomalies will result in termination of contract.
Edit 31/05/2004: Dr. Coram passed away last Sunday, all personnel who worked with him are invited to his funeral on the 6th June.
Edit: 08/06/2004: All personnel who attended Dr. Coram's funeral yesterday please report to the Doctor's Bay at the end of this working day.
Audio log from Interview XXXX-5
Interviewed: D-34601
Interviewer: Doctor Séamus Coram
Foreword: This interview occurred during Test-XXXX-08 after D-34601 was exposed to the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX for 42 hours and 15 minutes, D-34601 is a caucasian male ageing 27 years old with no previous signs of mental health issues. Dr. Coram and D-34601 are sitting opposite each other across a table, a polycarbonate4 screen separates them.
<Begin Log, 18:45, 1/05/1991>
Dr. Coram: Good evening D-34601, how are you feeling today?
D-34601: W-what?
Dr. Coram: D-34601?
D-34601: Who?
Dr. Coram: You, I am talking to you D-34601.
D-34601: I have a name, Doc.
Dr. Coram: You are D-34601 here. Now, subject, how are you feeling today?
D-34601: I. Have. A. Name.
Dr. Coram: And I have a interview to conduct.
D-34601: (Laboured breathing) I have a name Doc, and you will use it.
Dr. Coram: D-34601, how are you feeling today?
D-34601: (Eye twitching) This is a joke right? You f known I have name you b!
Dr. Coram: D-34601, I repeat, how are you feeling today?
D-34601: (Growling) What is my name Doc?
Dr. Coram: I beg your pardon?
D-34601: What is my name Doctor?
Dr. Coram: D-34601.
(D-34601 continues to growl before standing up and punching the polycarbonate screen, he then continues to do this 7 more times before his knuckles begin bleeding and cracks appear in the screen. At this point Dr. Coram is escorted from the room by guards. Upon Dr. Coram leaving D-34601 screams and kicks the polycarbonate screen.
<End Log, 19:01>
Closing Statement: It is recommended that for all subsequent interviews with subjects experiencing SCP-XXXX's anomalous qualities that staff involved are shielded by glass polycarbonate as well as two guards in the room. D-34601, after his outburst, remained immobile for a further hour, staff attempts to remove him from the interviewing room succeeded an hour later.
