Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Since any frame can become an instance of SCP-XXXX-A, it cannot be contained. After Incident XXXX-01, all Foundation staff are advised to advise their families to not own any picture frames.
Description: SCP-XXXX can "infect" any picture frame at any location on Earth. How it does so is unknown. Any "infected" picture frames become instances of SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX-A has the physical appearance of any ordinary picture frame, except that the place where a picture should be is filled with a blank sheet of standard A4 paper. However, should this paper be removed, the space where the paper used to be located transforms into a portal producing anomalies classified as SCP-XXXX-B.
Any subject within 5m of SCP-XXXX-A will be compelled to replace the picture to a picture of a loved one / family member. Attempting to do so is grounds for immediate termination.
In addition, prolonged exposure to SCP-XXXX-A will result in a dramatic increase in anxiety and eventually total insanity after 15 hours. Subjects that have been in close proximity for over 5 hours reported severe tinnitus and hearing disembodied screams, whether in vicinity of SCP-XXXX-A or not.
SCP-XXXX-B have the appearance of a human approximately 73% of the time, with other forms including dogs, cats and other SCPs, and have the ability to change form and size to fit anywhere, being able to change their composition to a liquid form at will. They can also turn seemingly transparent at any time and can also seemingly phase through walls and other objects. SCP-XXXX-B are entirely docile, not making any attempt to attack, even when provoked. However, during Active Phase they are hostile, but to their target(s) only.
Both SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B are harmless until an Active Phase is induced. An Active Phase is induced by replacing the paper inside SCP-XXXX-A with a photograph or drawing of any person. Once the Active Phase is induced, all instances of SCP-XXXX-B will become agitated and move at an approximated speed of 15m/s toward their target, regardless of position. Said target is determined by any recognisable faces in the photo placed inside SCP-XXXX-A.
If there are multiple faces, the SCP-XXXX-B will terminate them one after the other, and once a target is terminated, their face on the photo is covered with a red X made of what seems to be human blood. DNA tests on these crosses show that the DNA is identical to the victim's. How the crosses appear is a mystery. Once all targets are eliminated, the SCP-XXXX-B vanish, presumably back to the dimension they appeared from.
Addendum: Incident Report for Incident XXXX-01
On 13th December [DATA EXPUNGED] four Foundation Agents was running maintenance of the chamber for SCP-173 when the Agent currently observing SCP-173 was attacked and terminated by SCP-XXXX-B. This caused three other Agents to be terminated by SCP-173, as nobody was watching it.
