Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked box at site ██ and is to be kept locked at all times with the exception of testing. The key to SCP-XXXX should also be kept in a small locked box in the office of the head researcher of the site SCP-XXXX is located. Moving SCP-XXXX and the key to SCP-XXXX’s box must be logged. Testing involving SCP-XXXX requires the authorization of Level 2 researcher or higher.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an antique filament light bulb inside a small bell jar with an oak base. The bulb itself is composed up of a tungsten-filament material showing no anomalous properties of any sort. The bell jar is made up of a normal glass approximately 75% silicon dioxide, sodium oxide from sodium carbonate, calcium oxide, and several minor additives also showing no anomalous properties. A small wire connected to a switch leads out the base of the Bell Jar allowing subjects to activate SCP-XXXX without touching the base or Bell Jar of SCP-XXXX. This wire does not go further then the switch resulting in SCP-XXXX not having an attached plug, which hasn’t proven to be a problem as SCP-XXXX does not seem to need a power supply; other then found through testing an external source of light. When SCP-XXXX is active the bulb produces a very warm-yellow glow and a small amount of heat around the bulb which is normal in filament light bulbs.

Addendum-1: SCP-XXXX

Test A - ██/██/████

Subject: D-8457
Procedure: Turn on SCP-XXXX
Results: Inconclusive
Analysis: Upon turning on SCP-XXXX the room’s lights dimmed to what the subject reported to give the room a more comfy atmosphere. The lights returned to normal when SCP-XXXX was turned off.

Test B - ██/██/████

Subject: D-9563
Procedure: Remove the Bell Jar from SCP-XXXX and switch on
Results: Increases calmness and creativity in the subject.
Analysis: The subject removed the Bell jar and placed it next to the base of SCP-XXXX. Subject then turned on SCP-XXXX, the lights in the room again dimmed. After three minutes of exposure to SCP-XXXX the subject reported that a calmness binded with creativity came over the subject. Subject was then told to cover SCP-XXXX, upon doing so the subject reported losing all feeling produced by SCP-XXXX

Addendum-2: Further testing have found the same result as Test B, regardless of who is exposed to SCP-3928. Researchers studying SCP-3928 had initially hypothesized that the power source of SCP-3928 was sources of light, hence why the lights in SCP-3928’s chamber dimmed but Researcher █████ has stated that on study of SCP-3928 the circuits that power the lights in SCP-3928’s chamber do not lose power and that SCP-3928 draws on photons created by sources of light. Whether SCP-3928 reflects these photons off itself to produce the light emitted from the bulb is still unknown. Researcher █████ has also suggested that moving SCP-3928 into another room such as a library or other areas of study in an attempt to bring up productivity has been denied.
