SCP-XXXX

Item #: XXXX

Object Class: Keter (originally Euclid)

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation operatives must be ready to be deployed to any area containing a SCP-XXXX instance. Once operatives have reached the area, the area must be cleared of any civilians. Affected civilians must be extracted through use of devices to pull them out of the area of effect. Cover stories must be developed after civilians are extracted. Civilians must be given amnestics and be kept detained until death. If anyone is spotted attempting to destroy SCP-XXXX, all attention should be focused on terminating these individuals. Current location is ██████, Missouri.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon which manifests within roads in the United States. The anomaly seemingly manifests at a random time, but all manifestations have been between 2-5 years. Usually, the anomaly manifests as a random stop-sign located on a road in use (the anomaly commonly manifests on neighborhood roads). Whenever a living organism attempts to walk past the stop-sign, they will be unable to move their legs. Once they have attempted to cross, they are an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. This effect has no known cure, and affects subjects until death. However, organisms will retain the ability to do normal day activities, such as sleeping, eating, breathing, etc, that does not include moving around It has been discovered that organisms lose the ability to do these things, too, which will cause death in the subject. The time it takes for a SCP-XXXX-2 instance to cease life signs is around 2-3 years after being affected. The anomaly seems to dissipate if no humans are affected by the object in 24 hours. This will reset if a human has been affected. The object seems to place itself in more populated areas (cities and highways). Unfortunately, the location of manifestation can only be discovered by an organism being affected by the anomaly.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered when reports of people suddenly becoming unable to move were discovered by Foundation operatives. Location of the anomaly was located and all witnesses were detained, interviewed, issued amnestics, and released. After this, the area was evacuated. SCP-XXXX was classified as a Euclid class anomaly.

Incident XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX manifested in a road in New York City. Thousands of civilians were affected and Foundation had to use widespread amnestics. Multiple cover stories had to be developed and civilians affected were detained by Foundation operatives for interrogation.

Person: “It was a normal day, I was walking down the street, going to ██████████’s and I noticed a large crowd…”
Interviewer: “Sir?”
Person: “I just hate thinking about it. Anyway, there was large crowd of people, just standing there, not doing anything. I tried to get past the people, but then, I discovered I couldn’t move. I tried to move, but it was like my legs just froze. I just… I feel it now, too. I can’t move my legs, but I can move my arms, though (SCP-XXXX-2 instance waves). I can also do other stuff like eat and breath, so I guess it’s not that bad.”

Interviewer: Alright, the interview is done, Ms. ██████ will tell you what to do next.”

Incident XXXX-3: Global Occult Coalition operatives discovered an SCP-XXXX instance before Foundation operatives could. The operatives attempted to destroy SCP-XXXX, which resulted in [REDACTED].

Note: No Foundation operatives are permitted to attempt to destroy SCP-XXXX, we don’t want that happening again. -O5-█
