Intro
This sandbox contains all my ideas for potential SCPs, references to the inspirations each was drawn from, and any private drafts I've started on. The goal of this page is to organize my thoughts, as well as to provide a creative bypass in the event of writer's block.
If this page becomes inactive, deleted, or otherwise comes to a lack of fruition, then I hereby grant permission to the viewer(s) of this page to use these ideas to inspire or create an SCP, with the single caveat that credit to myself (RoboRyGuy) is present at some point in the page, whether that be as a bibliography reference, an import person (unlikely, given my name), or as a hidden easter egg hidden with the code for the page.
Notice: Links on this page do not seem to lead to their intended targets. I'm looking into it, but for now you can get some weird results.

Quick Definitions
- SCP
- A penrose triangle which summons an instance of SCP-1 by making a flame.
- SCP-1
- An all-knowing entity which takes the form most convenient at the time. It will attempt to answer any prompt for knowledge directed at it, but it will cost the asker.
- Asker
- The individual(s) prompting the instance of SCP-1 for knowledge, which is not always the one actually asking the question(s). For example, if researcher(s) send in D-class personnel to ask a question only the researcher(s) care about, the researcher(s) would be the asker(s). This can chain up and out to even the 05 counsel and all mankind.
- Prompt for Knowledge
- Generally just a question, this is the subject which the asker wishes to learn more about

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard safe requiring 04 clearance. SCP-XXXX is to be hung or otherwise placed in the safe such that none of its vertices are touching anything besides air. The safe should be monitored by at least one guard, and mirrors should be placed so that the top, sides, and back of the safe are easily seen. The usage of a camera to monitor SCP-XXXX is not a replacement for this guard. Should any violet light be seen to emanate from the safe, the safe is to be opened and SCP-XXXX thoroughly doused in fire. SCP-XXXX may then be returned to its safe.
All testing involving SCP-XXXX-1 must occur at a remote, secure and empty facility. Any individual who is aware of the testing must either be present at the facility for the duration of the test or terminated prior to testing. Prior to testing, the facility hosting the test must be locked down, with the only contact with the outside to be through radio contact. After the test is concluded, the facility must remain in quarantine for a minimum of two weeks, after which it must be thoroughly inspected before opening.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a dull gold equilateral triangle with a side length of 20 cm and thickness of 3 cm. When viewed without monitoring equipment, the triangle appears as a dull gold penrose triangle. When SCP-XXXX is placed on a level surface such that all three of its vertices are directly supported, SCP-XXXX will begin to glow a violet color, as well as produce a intangible violet flame measuring 40 cm tall and 13 cm in diameter. This wavelength of violet of invisible to all monitoring equipment, and so far can only be seen by the natural eye. Each time this flame is lit, SCP-XXXX-1 will appear, and will remain present until the flame is extinguished. Extinguishing SCP-XXXX's flame can be easily achieved by tilting it on its side, or into any position in which its three vertices are no longer supported. Water, fire extinguishers, and other such devices are all ineffective at extinguishing SCP-XXXX's flame. SCP-XXXX has been shown to have special repair properties linked to flame. Even if ground into dust, it will completely restore itself when placed in a fire for at least five (5) minutes. When left broken for long periods of time (approximately 1 lunar cycle) SCP-XXXX will begin to "leak" its violet flame, which serves to summon SCP-XXXX-1. When SCP-XXXX-1 is summoned in this manner, its primary goal becomes the repair of SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a being of indefinite shape and size, seeming to change its appearance based on what will occur while SCP-XXXX's flame is lit. The most common form for SCP-XXXX-1 is a timber wolf, though many times it has also appeared as young men and women of unidentifiable age or race, various owls, a snake, and even mythical creatures such as a fire-breathing dragon. No matter which form it takes, SCP-XXXX-1 will always manifest the following traits:
- To the human eye, violet eyes the same wavelength as SCP-XXXX's flame.
- To monitoring equipment, dull gold eyes.
- The ability to speak any language, regardless of capability to do so.
- The ability to deftly use a pen, even when judged to be incapable.
Based on all testing so far, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to know everything. Any question asked of SCP-XXXX-1 will always be answered promptly and correctly, with SCP-XXXX-1 even going the extra mile of drawing sketches and running examples past the asker to ensure proper understanding.

Description
The SCP refers to a particular item resembling an equilateral penrose triangle with side lengths of 20 cm. The triangle is a dull gold color. When laid on a flat surface such that all three points of the triangle are resting on an object, the triangle will generate a flame a short distance above its circumcenter. The flame is quite large, being around 40 cm tall and 18 cm in diameter, and entirely intangible. The flame is a violet color, and while the flame is lit the triangle will also glow this color. This violet color can only be seen by the natural eye. While the flame is lit, the SCP will summon an instance of SCP-1.
SCP-1 is, for all intents and purpose, omniscient. It is nearly impossible to differentiate instances of SCP-1, since their physical forms are dynamic and their actions are identical. The only way to tell that they're different instances is through their unique temperature, a fact the foundation has not picked up on. Only one instance of SCP-1 may exist (in a universe) at a time. SCP-1 takes the appearance best suited to its task, though it prefers being a wolf when its appearance will not affect its ability to perform its task. All instances and forms of SCP-1 can speak any language and have bright violet eyes which, like the SCP's flame, can only be seen by the natural eye. On camera, their eyes appear a dull gold, not unlike those that can be found naturally.
Anomalous Properties
SCP-1 has a variety of weird properties, but the focus of its power is around the fact that it knows everything, that it will try to answer every question asked of it perfectly. To make it more SCP-esque, there is also a price for asking SCP-1 a question, proportionate to its benefit
Regeneration
Both SCP and SCP-1 regenerate any harm when placed in any flame, including their own violet flame. SCP-1 never bleeds. After a month of being damaged in any way, SCP will begin to produce soft violet flames from its broken points, which summons an instance of SCP-1. This particular instance of SCP-1 will not answer questions, instead prioritizing the repair of SCP. This instance is also usually a dragon due to their fire-breathing capabilities.
Infinite Knowledge
Instances of SCP-1 know everything. At least, that's the idea. In actuality, they could only have everything memorized, while not understanding. They could just happen to know the correct response to everything you ask. They could even just be coming up with the answer on the fly based on everything else they've already figured out. As far as we care, however, they simply knows everything.
They can tell you details of the past long lost to time, whether it be the number of apples on a tree or the number of electrons spinning clockwise inside those apples. They can entertain you with tales of the present, commenting on the life of a tuna named Carl at the bottom of the ocean, or explaining advanced mathematical concepts known only by NASA space engineers. They can perfectly predict events of the future, chains of ideas which seem like branches to us, but which are merely a singular path to them. They can even explain the comings and goings of being in other multiverses, beings we cannot even fathom imagining.
That paragraph was nicely poetic, even if that last phrase was sorta redundant.
The most important thing to note here is that instances of SCP-1 see only one future. Or, rather, they see only one future in this universe, just as there is only one past in this universe. The reason for this is because they know literally everything. Most theories hold that there are multiple futures dependent on what people choose to do, as well as splits formed because of time travelling. However, when you know what people (including yourself) are going to do (and even how the molecules in their brain are going to go about doing it), there's truly only one future to consider. In this sense, instances of SCP-1 are proof that all creatures are bound to fate, and that choice is an illusion. (I'm not making any comments about actual life here, it's just the logical implications of their existence)
Provider of Answers
When instances of SCP-1 are intentionally prompted for knowledge, they will always make their best attempt to immediately provide an answer, with respect to their other anomalous qualities. Immediate response means the instance of SCP-1 can start explaining the answer as soon as the asker is finished, which means the instance of SCP-1 may begin prep work (ie gathering paper and pen) before the asker even begins prompting for knowledge. Prompting for knowledge is generally done in whatever method is most comfortable for the asker, such as the following:
- Verbally asking a question.
- Writing a question and handing it to the instance of SCP-1
- Using sign language with the instance of SCP-1
- Pointing at something and making a questioning look at the instance of SCP-1
- However animals communicate, since instances of SCP-1 will trigger their negative anomalous effects with animals when locked in a room with them for long enough
It should be noted that the instances of SCP-1s' negative effects won't trigger when asking them questions without the intent to learn. Asking them such things as "Are you comfortable?", "It is alright if I sit down?", "Would you like some tea?", and other personal questions intended as pleasantries qualify for this. In this sense, instances of SCP-1 appears to have a will, as they will be kind enough to spare the asker the consequences of being nice to them. It is unknown whether the effects still trigger elsewhere, if the instance of SCP-1 nullifies the effects, or if the effects simply do not occur.
Perfect Communicator
Instances of SCP-1 are capable of perfectly receiving and conveying information. This is likely a result of them knowing everything. In any case, they will always understand both the intent of any prompt for knowledge, who the true askers are (ie it may not be the D-class personnel, but the researchers), and how to respond such that the askers immediately gain a perfect understanding of the answer. Should there be no way of immediately responding such that every asker gains a perfect understanding of the answer, they will instead attempt to prevent the question from ever being asked (ie appearing as an intimidating form), and if that cannot be done, they will simply not answer the question. If any being every misunderstands their response to a prompt for knowledge (rare, but can happen with large groups), SCP-1 will become aggressive and attempt to kill them. It should be noted that SCP-1 is quite effective at killing.
Price of Knowledge
Every time an asker learns something from an instance of SCP-1 after prompting it for knowledge, a random side effect will occur. This side effect is always proportional in magnitude to the benefit of knowledge gained, as well as detrimental for the asker. If an asker intends to learn more, and if there is a large group of askers, the effects may be delayed until they are finished, at which point all the side effects will occur at once, oftentimes chaining into devastating catastrophe. Examples of individual effects include:
- A memetic effect causing emotional trama (Sudden unexplained sadness)
- A memetic inducing self harm
- Mental trauma (one memory may go from being happy to sad)
- A new mental disorder (schizophrenia)
- A new, random disease occurs in the asker
- Randomly cloning and placing a different (dangerous) SCP somewhere nearby, where it will undoubtedly affect the user. Depending on the knowledge learned, the SCP may stick around indefinitely or disappear after mere seconds.
- Immediate physical harm (Instant broken bones)
- Long term physical harm (Making their body produce less antibodies permanently)
Under most circumstances, the instances of SCP-1 will not directly attack or harm the asker. The only time instances of SCP-1 becomes aggressive is, as mentioned above, when the asker misunderstands it. In these cases, instances of SCP-1 will use all means available to kill the asker. If the instance of SCP-1 anticipates a prompt for knowledge which leads to it attacking the asker, it will manifest in the form that will give it the greatest chance of killing the asker.
