ROBOT BIRD
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be kept in a 5m x 5m x 5m room. The room should be furnished with one chair, one table (for research purposes), and one small tree. Video surveillance must be recorded at all times from behind a reinforced glass window. No machinery or technology is permitted inside the cell and all research must be written manually. SCP-XXXX is to be fed one quarter (.25) kilograms (kg) of bird seed biweekly. SCP-XXXX should be treated with caution and any sensitive foundation information should be redacted. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 should be recorded and archived. If authorized, the use of SCP-XXXX is permitted. Personnel that come in contact with SCP-XXXX should not be permitted to remain with SCP-XXXX for more than one (1) hour per day. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 should be contained under the SCP-XXXX-2 procedures.
Description: SCP-XXXX resembles a bird (species unknown). It seems organic in physical structure and appearance. If listened to closely, a faint whirring sound, similar to that of a computer fan, can be heard. Internal structure is ███████ ██. Testing results conclude that SCP-XXXX functions as an artificial lifeform with machinery seemingly made of organic matter. Stimuli via neural input results in command and control over SCP-XXXX's functions. SCP-XXXX's apparent function is to observe individuals. SCP-XXXX has one metallic based machine in its body. This machine is a wireless neural transmitter. When the signal was triangulated by foundation staff, an Anderson Robotics site was discovered. When questioned about this signal, Anderson Robotics denied affiliation with SCP-XXXX. Foundation personnel were able to infiltrate classified documents and found [REDACTED]. Files indicate a project █████████ █████.
Investigation of such project is underway.
SCP-XXXX is able to consume food and excrete "waste". This waste resembles a standard USB drive port attached to organic matter. This "waste" will furthermore be known as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 contains various data. Some of its data is the Government projects: ███████ and ███████. SCP-XXXX must also "consume" food. If SCP-XXXX goes without nourishment for approximately 4-5 days without nourishment, SCP-XXXX will proceed to shut down all systems.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties are of mid-level concern. Sustained contact with SCP-XXXX results in the person becoming paranoid. Generally, subjects report that they feel like they are "being watched". After approximately two (2) hours of continuous exposure to SCP-XXXX, subjects will start accusing the government (usually the U.S government) of espionage on citizens' daily lives. After two and one half (2 1/2) hours of sustained exposure, subjects will attempt to destroy SCP-XXXX, claiming that "birds aren't real" and "███████ is watching". Subjects under the influence of SCP-XXXX shall furthermore be known and referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will try at all costs to destroy SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-2 can heal from the effects of SCP-XXXX in approximately five (5) hours of no contact with SCP-XXXX (from that point on will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-2-EX). When questioned on the reason that the subjects had stated that "birds aren't real", the subjects had no knowledge of the phrase or events that conspired during SCP-XXXX's influence. [INTERVIEW LOGS ATTACHED]
SCP-XXXX-1 is an organic USB drive. It contains information that SCP-XXXX gathers. SCP-XXXX-1 does not have any of the effects of SCP-XXXX. However, if any machinery exists in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX-1, then SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to insert itself into the machine by any means necessary.
Analysis of SCP-XXXX has concluded the "design" of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is highly complex and all efforts to recreate SCP-XXXX using machine parts have failed. How exactly SCP-XXXX functions is unknown. The designer of SCP-XXXX is presently unknown but is assumed to be a government engineer.
Testing of SCP-XXXX has concluded that SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 have no levels of sapience. SCP-XXXX responds as a normal, non-anomalous avian bird would. SCP-XXXX does not appear to be controlled externally.
Due to the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX, its object class has been set to Euclid. This is due to the fact of break-ins that occur when an individual is under the influence of SCP-XXXX. Tests have been conducted to determine to what extent an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 will go to in order to achieve its goal of destroying SCP-XXXX TESTS WILL BE ATTACHED. These tests reveal that SCP-XXXX-2 must be of the homo sapien species. No nonhuman instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have been found.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances inherently know the location of SCP-XXXX. Tests have shown that an SCP-XXXX-2 instance will go through any means necessary to destroy SCP-XXXX.
Addendum-XXXX-1: Interview Log
Interviewed: D-4379/SCP-XXXX-2 instance 005
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Foreword: This interview is of D-4379 to examine the effects of the influence of SCP-XXXX on the psychological state of mind. Interview authorized by ████████. D-4379 was subjugated to SCP-XXXX for two hours and fifteen minutes (2:15) prior to the interview.
<Begin Log>
D-4379: Th-they aren't real… It is watch-ching us.
D-4379 appears to be paranoid under the effects of SCP-XXXX
Dr. █████: What isn't real? Who or what is watching us?
D-4379: The birds… th-they must be stopped!D-4379 attempts to attack SCP-XXXX (which is located in the corner of the room)
(if anyone could help me with the interview, that would be nice)
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Foundation personnel apprehended D-4379 as he attempted to attack SCP-XXXX. D-4379 was contained under the SCP-XXXX-2 procedures for five and one half (5 1/2) hours. After D-4379 was declared an instance of SCP-XXX-2-EX, Dr. █████ interviewed D-4379 a second time. D-4379, when questioned, did not know of the above interview or his prior actions while under the influence of SCP-XXXX.
Addendum-XXXX-2 Discovery Log
SCP-XXXX was found in downtown [REDACTED] where a group of privacy terrorists started attacking SCP-XXXX. Local law enforcement was sent to reprimand the terrorists. When the officers returned, they stated that they felt like they were being watched. Later that day, the officers were reported as "shooting a poor, harmless bird". More officers were sent to arrest the prior two officers. When the same events occurred once more, foundation operatives were called in to contain the officers. The operatives, after completing the mission, started to feel like they were being watched. Thus. the operatives were escorted back to site ██. SCP-XXXX had followed foundation personnel to site ██ where SCP-XXXX stayed for an unknown amount of time. When conducting a routine search, foundation staff found SCP-XXXX creating an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and foundation personnel were sent to contain it.
