Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4185 is to be held at Site 17 within a standard humanoid containment cell furnished with a bed, a stainless steel desk and a nightstand. SCP-4185 is allowed no more than four (4) hours of free roaming activity at Site 17 daily, and is to be continuously observed over site surveillance systems during these periods of time.
SCP-4185 can make reasonable requests for items or enhancements to it’s containment cell, these requests must be approved of by two (2) or more Level 4 or higher personnel.
The following is a list of all recorded requests made by SCP-4185:
- One poster of the modern periodic table of elements relevant to the year 20██.(Approved)
- One ornate brown leather journal and writing utensil. (Approved)
- “A few” kilograms of high purity radium metal. (Denied) (Approved, see Incident -4185-R)
Description: SCP-4185 appears to be a caucasian male between the age of 19-23 years with rough brown hair standing at 1.7 meters in height and weighing 162 kilograms, SCP-4185 is always seen wearing a World War 2 British gas mask, a tattered long sleeve shirt, a lead-lined sleeveless vest, tattered cargo pants, lead-lined gloves and sneakers with the soles being made of lead. These articles of clothing are unable to be removed from SCP-4185 using any known means by all outside forces (lead lined gloves are an exception). SCP-4185’s facial details are unable to be seen through it’s gas mask, when asked about this, the subject shows slight distress and refuses to acknowledge personnel that attempt to question it on this subject.
SCP-4185 is sentient and expresses itself to have an outgoing and social personality, SCP-4185 enjoys communicating with personnel and has been observed to have a positive impact on staff moral.
SCP-4185 is completely invulnerable to all forms of damage that would normally occur as a result of exposure to high temperatures and all forms of radiation SCP-4185’s most notable anomalous property can be observed when the subject’s bare hands come into contact with any living organism. Upon physical contact, living organisms will undergo symptoms of severe radiation poisoning, eventually withering into a pile of ash. SCP-4185 is very cautious about it’s hands in this way and has been equipped with lead-lined gloves for this reason.
Initial Recovery: SCP-4185 was first brought to the foundation’s attention after various reports of locals in the city of █████ Arkansas turning into ash. SCP-4185 was interrogated by local law enforcement for suspicious actions and attire. SCP-4185’s anomalous properties were discovered during interrogation, and the subject was afterward confiscated by the foundation. Law enforcement officials who observed this interrogation were given Class A amnestics and a local nuclear power plant malfunction was used as a cover story for the deaths of █ locals.
Incident Report-4185-R: At ██:██ ██, SCP-4185 was discovered to be showing signs of advanced hypothermia in ███ hallway of Site 17. SCP-4185 was located by surveillance personnel and transported to it’s containment cell. Besides immobility, medical personnel observed no change in behavior or vital signs of SCP-4185, when questioned about the subjects knowledge of the matter, the subject stated: “thats why I requested radium.” Upon introducing SCP-4185 to large masses of radium metal, the subject quickly resumed typically exhibited behavior within the span of five (5) minutes. Since Incident 4185-R, SCP-4185 is permitted to possess no more than 0.5 kilograms of radium metal at any given time within it’s containment cell.

SCP-4185: Hey doc, whats up? Another light based response test? You know I’m bad at those right?
Dr.█████: Actually we’re doing something a little different today, i thought we could do an interview of sorts.
SCP-4185: Oh.. if thats the case I’m all ears.
Dr.█████: Alright then. Lets start with something simple, how old are you?
SCP-4185: …Uhhhh… I think.. a few decades? i forget.
Dr.█████: hm.. do you remember your parents at all?
SCP-4185: uhh.. I don’t think so.. come to think of it, the only early memories i have are at that nuclear power plant.
Dr.█████: what were you doing at that nuclear power plant to begin with?
SCP-4185: Well.. the place gave off lots of rads so.. I think its kinda clear why I settled there.
Dr.█████: I suppose so.. Erm, is assume i should ask you if you know anything on the topic of SCP-001?
SCP-4185: Pff as if, I didn’t even know there was a 001.

SCP-4185: True, true.
