Item #: SCP-6232
Object Class: Euclid
Description: SCP-6232 is a small object resembling a palm tree that seems to be made up of small squares giving it a pixelated look. Many D-Class Personnel have stated SCP-6232 smells of “melted butter gone wrong” and that it makes them feel ill. In a test on 2/8/10, personnel decided to x-ray SCP-6232 due to many complaints from D-Class personnel that “the tree” reaches out for them when they get too close giving the impression that SCP-6232 is sentient. The results of the x-ray showed that the object had a gelatinous-type slime instead of average bones. When personnel had sent a D-Class to harness this slime, SCP-6232 had released a purple mist turning the D-Class personnel into pixels before the women had disappeared completely. From then on, they had referred to people in that state as SCP-6232-1. After that incident, many witnesses went through severe depression until it eventually went away after 10 months. Also, following the incident, SCP-6232 had been changed from Safe to Euclid class.
Many D-Class Personnel with impaired sight (glasses, contacts, etc) have claimed to see a slight purple mist (referring to it's defense mist) with the same pixelated pattern on it. SCP-6232 is also slightly transparent.
Below is a recorded conversation between two D-Class personnel after both of them had just finished their work in the containment chamber of SCP-6232.
D-Class1: “That mist in that tree’s chamber is so bright.. after only twenty minutes it’s almost blinding”
D-Class2: “I overheard one of those researchers say it has to do with your eyesight” (said followed by a short sigh).
D-Class1: “I asked one of my buddies yesterday about it but he said he hadn't seen it; this place confuses me.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6232 is to be held in a metal cube that is 4 sq. meters at Site 26 at all times. Said cube must have a thick layer of wet clay stuck to its walls, and the walls must be hosed down by D-Class Personnel every other day. To view into SCP-6232 chamber, Personnel replaced the ceiling of the chamber with a sturdy two-way mirror allowing Personnel to see in but not allowing SCP-6232 to see out. Should the situation arise that Personnel need to get in SCP-6232 chamber, they have also installed a trapdoor into the mirror which is locked shut.
SCP-6232 was originally found in 1997 in an abandoned GameStop as a small disk. It was in a plastic case with a tree on it, with no name. It was made by a game company that does not exist in our universe called Broken Soul, Inc. Many people said that when walking by the GameStop they had seen the game move. After all these reports and claims, the foundation got involved. They took the game by Broken Soul, Inc and put it in a small glass box in a Personnel’s office. They gave all people that had seen SCP-6232 move, Amnestics. Although, one morning, when Personnel had walked into his office, the game's case was on the floor and the disk was gone. Standing in his office was a pixelated tree. Once SCP-6232 was relocated, the case went with it and is constantly left at the trunk of SCP-6232. The case is under constant supervision - if taken or inadvertently moved, Personnel is immediately tasked to locate and return it to its position. When doing their job, D-Class Personnel are warned to be careful not to touch the SCP in fear that it might release its mist.
SCP-6232 is, if left alone, no harm to the foundation. Therefore, there is no need to eradicate SCP-6232. However, some Personnel are convinced that SCP-6232 will get stronger (due to its transformation from a game to a tree) so they are already planning to have SCP-682 take down SCP-6232.
In a security breach on 11/6/14, SCP-6232 was scratched by an SCP-3783-1 instance that dug through the facility walls and ended up in SCP-6232 chamber. After the scratch SCP-6232 immediately released its mist and killed the instance.
The following is a log by the Personnel who watched SCP-6232 before it was in its tree state:
Day 1: Hello, to anyone who is reading this, it is my first day at watching this game thing. They said that this game was moving around a GameStop and it scared people, but I don’t know I like it.
Day 2: Ok this thing is starting to squeal and it is a little creepy. I will keep you updated
Day 8: Sorry I have not kept my promise on keeping you updated, this job is difficult it is hard to get things like this done
Day 27: I think this thing has a heartbeat, that scares me.
Day 48: I haven't told anyone but I think this thing is growing, fast.
Day 102: I walked into work today and the game was gone, they said it turned into a tree. This job makes you go crazy.
This Personnel is now deceased.
