Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to contained within a standard air-tight locker in site-██. Research must be carried out in air-tight chamber environments. All
Should any researcher be affected by any of SCP-XXXX anomalous effects, they are to report to the medical ward, seek a full and thorough cleaning shower,
There is to be standard inventory check after every test to prevent any bottle-caps from missing (seeIncident Report XXXX-3).
Description: SCP-XXXX is a ??cm x ??cm x ??cm plastic jar containing 70 variously branded bottle-caps (all labeled SCP-XXXX-01 to -70 accordingly and sorted by brand). All bottle caps emit an invisible gas in which, should any liquids be within a 30cm radius to any bottle-cap, the bottle-cap will begin to emit a similar gaseous substance to the liquid brought to it, but has been described to also contain the smell of rust. The effect only lasts once the liquid is out of the radius or once or the bottle-cap has been cleaned dry.
This is a common anomaly among all bottle-caps, however certain bottle-caps have more anomalous properties than others (See Addendum XXXX-01). All of these additional effects have a common theme of activating the general property, by forcing a liquid to be near the vicinity of the SCP.
The plastic jar and its lid are an unbranded counting piggy-bank. So long as the lid is closed onto the jar, the effects of SCP-XXXX-01 to -70 are contained.
It is currently unknown as to how SCP-XXXX gained its anomalous properties. It has been theorized that the jar itself has created the properties onto the bottle-caps or the bottle-caps themselves had these properties before, and the jar was used to contain them.
Adding additional objects to the jar does not affect or give any additional properties, only the seventy original bottle-caps in SCP-XXXX have the anomalous properties.
Recovery Log: SCP-XXXX was found in a neighborhood of ███████ in ████████, Canada, after a spread of complaints of the neighborhood smelling "like something just died". After a lengthy investigation and cover-up, SCP-XXXX was discovered in a house belonging to an elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. ██████. Both found deceased at time of recovery. SCP-XXXX was found with its lid open and some of its instances being under Mr.██████'s corpse. It is believed the couple were cleaning their house, and discovered SCP-XXXX. Upon opening SCP-XXXX and holding multiple instances in their hands, the anomalous effects activated, which caused them to suffer heart attacks under the stress of being affected by the instances. Their corpses began to decompose, opening bodily fluids for the instances to replicate.
The following table is a description of specific bottle-caps in SCP-XXXX.

| SCP-XXXX-23 to -27, |
"Pop Shoppe" branded bottle-caps |
Applying any pressure causes any nearby living being to slowly |
"" |
| SCP-XXXX-30 to -35 |
"Stewart's Fountain Classics" branded bottle-caps |
Applying any pressure to bottle-cap causes the closest human being will begin to feel heavy and lethargic and uncontrollably sweat a liquid substance that slowly hardens and eventually covers the being. Substance was later found to similarly match cement. Continuous pressure extends the effect. |

| SCP-XXXX-56 |
A "Totally Gross Soda" branded bottle-cap. |
Applying any pressure to bottle-cap will cause a neural effect in which results in the closest human being, to feel nauseous with stomach pains to the point of vomiting. Continuous pressure to the instance extends the effect. |
"From these pressure-based bottle-caps it seems that there doesn't need to be a human to activate their effects. Just by stepping on it or putting something heavy on them can still create liquid from someone nearby. The odd thing is, how come the caps don't activate when stacked on each other? Or how come the floor its weighing on doesn't automatically kick in?" |
| SCP-XXXX-01 to -10 |
"Island Soda" branded bottle-caps, with various Jamaican sayings imprinted underneath the caps. |
Should any of these phrases be spoken out loud while holding the bottle-cap will result in the speaker to spew out approximately 1L of sea water from their mouth. |
"Further testing is required to investigate origin of sea water, but should be noted, anomalous properties come from holding the cap and saying the text. Thankfully these other bottle-caps don't need pressure to be activated." |
| SCP-XXXX-11 to -19 |
"Jones Soda co." branded bottle-caps with various life advice phrases imprinted underneath the caps |
Should any of these phrases be spoken out loud while holding the bottle-cap will result in the speaker to cry uncontrollably and produce large volumes of tear drops. The speaker to reports in feeling happy, having read the text, and later showed no signs of loss of energy in producing their tears. |
"While might be an interesting venture for therapeutic uses, but the unnatural amount of tears produced is rather troublesome. Further research is required." |
| SCP-XXXX-40 to -46 |
Unbranded Silver bottle-caps with a safety button to check seal condition on top of caps. |
Upon pressing the safety seal |
"Interesting how a safety seal is what activates their anomalous property. But not from simply holding it. " |
| SCP-XXXX-67 to -69 |
Unbranded red bottle-caps with the phrase "Real Fruit" on the sides of the caps, and a safety button to check seal condition on top of caps. |
Pressing the safety button, will result in the bottle-cap secreting a bright red liquid. Following chemical build-up of the liquid has a similar match to fruit punch. |
"What seems to be the most interesting is that these caps produce a liquid themselves. They don't need a living being nearby, it can create the liquid itself." |
| SCP-XXXX-70 |
An unbranded bronze bottle-cap |
Upon holding the bottle-cap grants the bottle-cap strong magnetic properties for the other bottle caps of SCP-XXXX in which [REDACTED] |
"Welp, that was certainly messy. Strange how by pressure-based caps, this is the only one that requires a live subject to hold it." |
