Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX cannot be removed to a from it's current site. A 30 by 30 container has been constructed to contain SCP-XXXX with no ventilation, and personnel within 5 meters must wear protective gear.
Exploration of the ship is to be done with D-class personnel in groups of no more or less of five, and the site is to be guarded by 5 MTF guards with no prior knowledge of what the ship contains. D-Class personnel that come under the effects of SCP-XXXX are to be terminated on sight, and are to not come into contact with any of those who have experienced visual/auditory hallucinations of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a naval vessel active from December 11, 1941 to March 4th, 1945, that was constructed within the US Navy's general shipyards within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is to be noted that 57% of the labor men who worked on it developed terminal cases of brain cancer, all of which manifested 25 hours after the appearance of SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX shows no exterior damage, with no interior damage exempting the protrusion within the floor caused by the merging of crew members during the Philadelphia Experiment. Video surveillance has shown an inconsistent number of humanoid figures residing on the deck of SCP-XXXX. However, these figures have not been observed by any exploratory team to date. Research into SCP-XXXX's ability to manipulate technology is ongoing.These humanoids are described to be wearing standard US Navy uniforms consistent to what was worn during the second world war. After approximately 3 minutes, beginning at 12:57 and ending at 13:00 Eastern Standard Time on March 4th all examples of SCP-XXXX-2 demanifest and until March 4th of the next year. As of █/██/████.
Explorations into the interior of SCP-XXXX yields no abnormal results until entering the engine room.Located inside the engine room is a humanoid entity, designated SCP-XXXX-1, which has consistently described as a "mound of flesh" that superficially resembles the observer. It should be noted that this effect, while it occurs consistently, does not produce a consistent visual. If two or more persons observe SCP-XXXX-1 at once, it will resemble the observer, regardless if other observers report that it resembles themselves.Video equipment invariably fails upon entrance into the engine room, however audio feeds remain intact. General technological issues have also been consistently reported, with electronic equipment shutting off, turning on, and restarting with no discernible pattern or reason. Individuals with a violet or criminal behavior have not been able to leave the room. Personnel report that such individuals will appear to "fade" upon attempting egress from the engine room.

Addendum XXXX.1: After study of this note, it was decided that we try and initiate further contact with the being in the engine room. This resulted in the bodily changes of 3 foundation personnel, who have been terminated quickly and efficiently. An S.O.S signal was sent by the ship at this time, broadcasting to some unknown source that picked it up. Investigation by the foundation found nothing about what picked it up, as at the time no known ships were within the area.
The 2 personnel who were not converted reported seeing hallucinations of SCP-XXXX, and report seeing visions of a sort of experiment taking place on this. The experiment that matches this description is known as the Philadelphia experiment, one of which has been denied to the public of ever existing but caused the death of multiple crew members aboard the ship. Including that of one of the lead scientists, who was reported as one of the many figures that was static on the ship during the time that it occurs.
Addendum XXXX.2: The foundation has sent another exploration team onto the ship, of whom consists of 3 D-class personnel. These personnel reported that the layout of the ship changed, and after 5 hours of communication they went missing. 3 days after their disappearance, there was a note sent to the lead foundation scientist looking into SCP-XXXX, written by a currently unknown author. The note appeared blank to all those looking at it, except for the number 5.
Any investigation teams sent into SCP-XXXX not consisting of 5 personnel have all been reported to go missing within 5 hours, this includes drones and other forms of exploratory devices. After the 3rd exploration conducted with less than 5 personnel. On occasion, the sound of men talking quietly from within the quarters and the kitchen have been reported. SCP-XXXX-1 has been observed to reproduce sounds of muffled screaming, footsteps, and the screaming of a small child coming from the engine room in order to draw in further persons.
Addendum XXXX.3: Exploration into SCP-XXXX now requires ear muffs after the Aker incident within the engine room. Any personnel who reports hearing the sound of voices within the ship must immediately leave, and go under psychological evaluation by the foundation. If they approach the sound, investigation team members must not follow them and immediately leave, of which the foundation will send 4 armed personnel members to terminate the subject.
Those who follow the sound will come into contact with the mound of flesh after 5 minutes, and will be converted. This flesh mound is now to be named SCP XXXX-1, as it shows intelligence and at times even the ability to speak with exploration members. Once converted, the subject will retain brain activity but will lose free will, with their only purpose as described by SCP XXXX-1 to be "evolving the human race". Converted beings fuse with the other objects within SCP-XXXX and grow, at times forming multiple limbs or heads, and are described as being hyper intelligent and capable of speech. Converted beings speak of a SCP-XXXX-1 as a savior, who promises eternal life to all who listen to their prophecies.
Addendum XXXX.4: Ventilation is now to be shut off within SPC-XXXX and it must be contained within a chamber. Multiple containment breach attempts have been made by the converted beings. Lack of oxygen and sunlight seem to cause these things to go into a comatose state, of which exploration can be safely attempted by exploration personnel.
Addendum XXX.5-discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by two foundation agents after reports of rescue ships going missing within the area after hearing a SOS signal from SCP-XXXX. The remains of crew members from these ships were discovered within the engine room, fused to SCP-XXXX-1 after being converted for an unknown amount of time.
One of the crew members fused to SCP-XXXX-1 was only sunken in by the waist, and the scratch marks on the floor near him suggest that he tried to escape.The scratch marks appeared to have been made relatively recently,within the last five days, and after questioning SCP-XXXX-1 informed exploration personnel that it was "feeding" the crew members merged within it. These members disappeared after the 2nd exploration, and there has been footage scene of their heads phasing in and out of the control room, their bodies have been distorted and formed into a direct copy of SCP-XXXX-1.
Foundation personnel have discovered that this being appeared on this ship during the time it phased into virginia, and phased back. UIU personnel sent by the US government contained SCP-XXXX-1 into the engine room, and locked it in before giving it to the foundation. As of ██/██/████, it is responsible for the conversion of 15 personnel and 2 attempted containment breaches, however for 5 months it entered a comatose state and ceased activity.
