Forensic photographs of SCP-XXXX, recovered from ██████ County Police Department
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked metal safe, at least 30cm x 30cm x 10cm in size. It is to be stored at Site-05. Only research staff authorized by Dr. █████ may be granted access to SCP-XXXX's containment area.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a pack of Marlboro Reds cigarettes, dated to August 20██. Inspection of the materials composing the packaging shows no anomalous properties. The cigarettes themselves are wrapped in paper and the filters are composed of cellulose acetate, like a normal cigarette. However, the contents of the cigarette is a substance which resembles tobacco, but is currently unknown, and contains no traces of any known plant species on Earth.
When smoking 10-15% of the cigarette, users report experiencing mild nausea and dizziness. After smoking 16-50%, users report experiencing vivid visual hallucinations, ranging from sprawling color patterns to figures, who are usually reporting to be standing in the corner of the room. After smoking the remaining 50% of the cigarette, users report having an out-of-body experience, in which they experience a vision of their own deaths. These experiences have been confirmed as such in experiments conducted by the Foundation.
In almost 90% of experiments where the subject was not terminated, subjects developed paranoia, insomnia, or post traumatic stress disorder.
The item came into Foundation custody after a man was admitted into a mental institution after using it. His mental state had deteriorated after learning of his own death, and he described how smoking the cigarettes lead to this vision. This was verified by the institution staff, who turned the pack over to the authorities so they could investigate the 'new type of drug' causing these hallucinations, where it was then obtained by the Foundation.
The concept of experiencing one's own death is a very tempting experience to many individuals. To prevent tampering or stealing of the item, and due to the limited number of cigarettes present in the pack, only research staff are permitted within SCP-XXXX's containment area, and all must be approved by Dr. █████ after a series of psychological evaluations.

Conclusion:
The effects of SCP-XXXX are proven, as the subject predicts their own death successfully. They appear to enter a state where time is slowed under it's effects, as most reports put the average observed length of the experience between 1-3 minutes, whereas the subject was observed under the effects for almost two hours.

<Begin Log>
Dr. █████: Good evening D-2490, how are you feeling?
D-2490: Honestly, really weird. I can't even wrap my head around what I saw.
Dr. █████: Yes, would you mind describing what you saw to me?
D-2490: Okay. I was in an apartment. It looked really nice. It was decorated exactly how I like it. This man walked out of my bedroom, smiled at me and gave me a kiss. He must of been my husband I guess, because I noticed that he was wearing a wedding ring and when I looked at my hand, I saw one too.
D-2490: <silence>
Dr. █████: <clears throat> Please continue when you're ready.
D-2490: Okay. I looked out the window and I saw this guy on the fire escape waiting for me. I screamed and my husband looked at them. Then the guy smashed into the window and started trying to get to me. We backed away and locked a door behind us. Then he just kicked the door down and then…

<D-2490 begins to sob quietly>
D-2490: <through tears> He pulled a gun and he shot me. <cries> And then I was dead.
Dr. █████: Okay I think I have the information I need, thank you ████.**
