Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be placed in a steel box measuring approx. .25m on all dimensions. This box is to be locked with a seven-point biometric scanner and guarded by no fewer than two (2) armed personnel at all times. As SCP-XXXX has not (as of 5-31-18) exhibited any excessive anomalous effects while in the presence of other SCPs, SCP-XXXX may be placed in a chamber containing other Safe-class SCPs to reduce the number of armed guards working for the Federation.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a plain, brown, leather-bound journal. It is square, and measures about 15cm on a side. The journal itself consists of fifty-seven (57) unmarked pages that have been determined to be comprised of a substance remarkably similar to paper, but genetically identical to human skin. Three (3) pages at the very beginning of the journal appear to have been torn out, but further testing has been unable to remove any other pages of the journal. Similarly, attempts to bind other writing mediums to the torn edges of the binding have met with failure. The object has also been determined to have a Hume level of roughly triple the surrounding environment.1
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects manifest when a humansentient2 subject writes on one of SCP-XXXX's pages with any standard writing utensil. After completion of the writing, a localized GK-Class (Harmful Self-Sustaining Paradox) will manifest around the subject, with exact dimensions, properties, and levels of danger depending on both the nature of the writing utensil and what was actually written.
Subject(s): One (1) D-class personnel, male
Writing Utensil: One (1) standard ███████████ brand #2 pencil.
Instructions: Subject was instructed to write the words "ice cream" on the first whole page of the object, and then wait for SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects to manifest.
Results: Approx. five (5) seconds after the subject had finished writing the chosen words, ice cream of various colors (and presumably flavors) appeared around the subject in a 1m radius. Ice cream didn't leave this area, and began to form into a sphere as more began to appear. When subject realized what was happening, he attempted to leave the area. Upon reaching the "edge" of the sphere inhabited by the ice cream, subject encountered an invisible shield that prevented him from leaving the area of effect. Sphere itself gradually filled with ice cream until it had formed a complete sphere, with the subject still inside. Attempts to remove subject from this sphere or compromise the sphere in any way were unsuccessful. After seven (7) minutes, all ice cream completely and instantly vanished, letting the subject (now deceased) fall to the ground. Autopsy revealed cause of death to be asphyxiation, sped up by an environment of sub-zero temperatures. No traces of ice cream were found anywhere in the test chamber or on/in the subject following the trial.
Notes: Sphere of influence stayed centered on the journal at all times. Possible teleportation or extra-dimensional travel of subject outside sphere pending approval. Journal itself remained completely unharmed, possible extra-dimensional shift taking place to protect it from itself. Also, examination of the written page revealed no trace of the words, or any remaining graphite from the writing utensil at all.
