Containment Update: Following the capture of SCP-XXXX-1, a standard humanoid containment cell can be used in containment. Under no circumstances is SCP-XXXX-1 allowed acess to musical instruments, paper and writing materials.

Special Containment Procedures: The Foundation web crawler program 'Trebleclef S-T-A-B' is to investigate and remove recordings, sheet music and informatiom relating to SCP-XXXX encountered on the internet. Removed files are to be backed up to a Foundation owned server.

MTF Iota-12 ("Stokowski's Baton") has been constructed in order to prevent performances of SCP-XXXX and is to investigate past performances. Identified perfomers and audience members who had attended or perfomed in a showing of SCP-XXXX are to be contacted, interviewed and later given class-A amnestiacs. Iota-12's secondary purpose is related to confiscation and removal of commerically produced SCP-XXXX sheet music, recordings, and videos. Each instance may be secured in a standard Containment locker.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a seventeeth century Opera called Prayer of Roseafar SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects have been determined to occur during a performance of the piece. Anomalous effects only occur when SCP-XXXX is listened to in person; an indivdiual listening to SCP-XXXX through a recording will not be affected, nor will SCP-XXXX produce any instances of SCP-XXXX-2.

Identified anomalous effects relating to SCP-XXXX include manifestations of SCP-XXXX-2 entities, abnormal changes in the weather and temperture, and altering of an audience and performer's mood and emotions. Information relating to SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects are further expanded upon in Addendum No. 4.

Addendum No. 1 History SCP-XXXX was believed to have been composed of by John Waterford (SCP-XXXX-1), a citizen of Roseafar.1 According to offical documents, SCP-XXXX-1 was commisoned by the Roseafar Church with composing a piece of music that described the history of Roseafar. SCP-XXXX previously composed several other pieces of music, although none have been determined to contain anomalous abilities, and as such are safe to listen to. As such, no action is to be taken regarding performances of these pieces.

SCP-XXXX-1 was captured by MTF Iota-12 ("Stokowski's Baton") during a raid on Roseafar, 1986. After its capture, SCP-XXXX has remained within Foundation custody. It is unknown if it posseses anomalous behaviors or abilties; as such it is reccomended that contact be limited unless necessary.

Addendum No. 2: Structure SCP-XXXX has an average duration of aproximately 160 minutes, and is divided into three acts, with eight scenes each, along with an instrumental prelude and instrumental finale.

Musically, SCP-XXXX differs dramatically from other baroque compostions. SCP-XXXX makes frequent usage of compositional techniques not seen during this time period. For example, the movement marked ' Sweet shoures of Roseafar' contains three instances of nested tuplets.2Nested tuplets are a modern compostional technique and are relatively unheard of in baroque music. SCP-XXXX appears to be composed in a proto-serialist method.3 This is notable due to serialism being a modern invention within modern music, as the technique has been dated to early 1923, by Arnold Schönberg; several centuries after SCP-XXXX was first composed. SCP-XXXX also makes use of non musical instruements, such as iron chains.

SCP-XXXX is scored for a very large orchestra, consisting of the following:
