Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Measures to contain SCP-XXXX are currently in development [See NASA spacecraft SERT-II, ATS-6] as the Matador program, whose goal is to create a mass-producible lure to redirect SCP-XXXX and move it out of range of detection from Earth. The first launch of an operational prototype is slated for ██/██/1972 as USAF collaboration spacecraft OPS-9390/Matador-I. Any images of SCP-XXXX are to be censored, and manned lunar space programs that would likely cause SCP-XXXX to near Earth are to be curtailed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an extraterrestrial rocket stage appearing similar to a Saturn V S-IVB that is capable of altering its velocity without losing mass. Radio tracking of SCP-XXXX has revealed that it uses this ability to capture itself in orbit of Earth every one to three years, often performing course corrections when a manned spacecraft is launched. SCP-XXXX was discovered on ██/██/1970, when it passed within █ kilometers of a manned NASA spacecraft and likely jettisoned material which later impacted the spacecraft, causing damage to the spacecraft's fuel cells and oxygen tanks. Since then, precovery sightings of SCP-XXXX have been discovered in images taken of previous NASA lunar missions.
