SCP-#XXXX
Seeking Greenlights: No
Page Type: SCP Article
Elevator Pitch: A pocket-watch that freezes the flow of time for the user.
Central Narrative: Came into Foundation custody following a disturbance at an antiques/thrift store - a boy was trawling through some old junk and found this, discovered its effects, and when next his mother sees him, he's aged about 30 years. Is initially ascribed as Safe, but this is revised to Thaumiel containment protocols following only a couple of tests. An Incident Report is later filed wherein a Containment Breach occurs in the Site while a test is being performed, and the D-Class present takes this as an opportunity to escape - when found by staff, he's nothing but bones and dust, as he took to long in his escape attempt (plus he didn't even make it outside the building as most of the doors were sealed due to the Containment Breach)
Hook/Attention-Grabber: Freezes isn't fully an accurate term. While the flow of time for the rest of the universe is indeed halted from their perspective, the flow of time for the user is accelerated and is in fact exponential - one second ticks over to two seconds, but then two ticks over to four, and four to eight, and so on. Essentially, you're stopping time at the cost of a significantly reduced lifespan, so whatever you're doing in stopped time, you'd better do it quick.
