Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently held at its original location close to ██████, Scotland, due to the impracticality of its removal and relocation. A concrete slab has been placed over the object which is not be removed, destroyed or otherwise tampered with. As a precaution measure, the slab has additionally been affixed to the ground surrounding SCP-XXXX. Monthly inspections on the structural soundness of the concrete are mandatory and reasonable repairs are to be carried out, if deemed necessary. Entry to SCP-XXXX is strictly forbidden, the only exception being two assigned guards. Additionally, cameras are to be placed around the premises where deemed necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an eighteen [18] meters in length, eleven [11] meters in width and three [3] meters in depth indoor swimming pool housed within a 19th century villa located on the outskirts of ██████, Scotland, filled with potable water. If the object is to be drained by outside means, it will refill at a steady pace of approximately 24,750 litres per hour, filling the entire pool in no more than 24 hours. As of yet, the source of this phenomenon has not been discovered, as no sources of water leading into SCP-XXXX are visible from the outside.
When a person is placed within SCP-XXXX, they will report a feeling of being at ease and a heightened sense of euphoria, regardless of their previous demeanour or any psychological affliction they might have. Subjects, who have previously been diagnosed with mood disorders, have reported feeling cured of their illness. All tests so far have indicated that placement within SCP-XXX can effectively heighten a subject's mood and relieve stress, as well as putting them at ease with themselves and the world, though these effects are not permanent. If a subject is removed from SCP-XXXX within thirty [30] minutes of making contact with the object's water, they will return to their baseline emotional state pre-submersion in the course of six [6] to twelve [12] hours.
After being partially or fully submerged within SCP-XXXX for at least thirty [30] minutes, test subjects will begin to slow their motions and eventually come to a full stop, essentially seizing all activity as well as communication and appearing to float on the water partially submerged. All efforts to communicate with the subject after this point will result in no verbal or non-verbal answer. Attempts to remove the subject from the water have also proven to be difficult, as the subject will regain their composure and will actively and violently try to stop all actions towards its removal. However, removal is feasible and should a subject be successfully removed from SCP-XXXX at this point, their aggravated state will remain, only disrupted by periods of severe depression.
Should a subject be left to its own accord within SCP-XXXX after thirty [30] minutes of submersion, they will continue to drift on the surface of the water for an additional fifteen [15] minutes, at which point the object will darken in colour, eventually making it impossible to view the bottom of SCP-XXXX from the outside. These changes go seemingly unnoticed by the subject. At a total of sixty [60] minutes from initial contact with SCP-XXXX, the subject will have found themselves at the geometrical centre of the object.
This marks the point at which the subject will suddenly regain consciousness for a few seconds, gasping for breath despite not having been deprived of air for the past thirty [30] minutes. Shortly thereafter, and before being able to exit the object, the subject will be affected by an unidentifiable force suddenly jerking them underwater. The subject will remain underwater until asphyxiated and only then will their body be released. SCP-XXXX will then slowly regain its original colouration and heavily accelerate the decomposition of any organic material left inside. Within twenty-four [24] hours of initial contact with SCP-XXXX, the object will have discarded of any bodies it previously contained and returned to its original state.
