Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently contained in a very well lit, 23 by 32 foot room with a dark spot in the middle of the containment area which is the only place it stays in.
Description: SCP-XXXX was first spotted on July 10, 1860 in Canada. The anomaly was caught on Augest 29, 1989. The creature has been spotted by many locals in the area over the decades but they have never been attacked so we have concluded SCP-XXXX is not hostile towards humans unless provoked.
SCP-XXXX is an enigmatic creature, that was strenuous to find and contain. the first few attempts to secure the anomaly was unsuccessful, it attacked multiple personnel and killed them almost instantly when it felt threatened.
SCP-XXXX has the distinct smell of rotting flesh and ammonia.We were able to find the creature due to the smell it released, unfortunately a week later, everyone who smelled SCP-XXXX's scent, died from ammonia. After containing the anomaly for 24 hours, we discovered that it needs to be feed every hour, if not fed, SCP-XXXX starts to growl and snarl until it has eaten.
If a human subject or any animal comes into the line of sight of SCP-XXXX without it being fed for as long as 2 hours then the subject will be torn apart and eaten by the entity. we have also noticed a strange weaknesses it has, it is allergic to the suns rays, to avoid hurting SCP-XXXX we used normal lamps and strip lights to secure the room.
The anomaly looks to have canine teeth with fur on its physique. Its legs are inexplicably long and its arms are smaller then the average humans. SCP-XXXX possesses spines on its back as some sort of protection. The creature looks to have 3 curved claws at the end of its arms, they are dark brown and have a shine to them. It to be 84 inches tall, muscular and quick.
After a bit of documentation we have found the subject to use shadows as its form of transportation and movement. it can only move to a shadow if it sees one but we do not know what SCP-XXXX looks like or does when in a shadow. It thrives at night and in the dark but its harder to contain SCP-XXXX this way since any shroud of darkness near the containment walls will permit it to escape from its containment area.
After a month of trying to socialize with the specimen, it shows signs of favoritism to different humans and objects, SCP-XXXX only talks to those it likes or sees fit to communicate with. It is smart and very intelligent which makes it harder to contain.
SCP-XXXX has only been recorded to communicate with, Dr.███████, Miss ████,█████ and ,██████. We have tried to socialize it with other human subjects but the creature was unresponsive and did not react.
