Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: 4x18x18 meter room with a hallway to the center. One D-Class subject is to read a book from within SCP-XXXX's containment and ask SCP-XXXX a question once per day. D-Class personnel are to navigate the maze and map the interior should any changes be noted. Books that SCP-XXXX-2 ignore and do not stack are to be taken out of the containment and incinerated at least 31 meters away from containment. D-class personnel are not allowed to ask SCP-XXXX any questions. All D-class personnel that go into SCP-XXXX’s containment are required to have no history of damaging any books.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 2.4 meter sphere with 8 2.2 meter long tentacles. It also has a single 2 meter eye. The shape of the pupil is cat-like and is replaced with a mouth. SCP-XXXX’s tentacle ends can separate into 10 tendrils. Test on SCP-XXXX’s skin had shown that it is made out of emerald with a gray color, though its skin acts like human skin. SCP-XXXX levitates a constant 0.3 meters above any surface.

SCP-XXXX has been observed creating spacial anomalies it refers to as "portals". Testing has failed to identify the mechanism by which SCP-XXXX accomplishes this, and interviews with the subject have yielded little usable information (See Addendum-3). The limit of these “portals” is 13.5 meters. All testing involving SCP-XXXX's "portals" has been suspended indefinitely (see Addendum-2). When a new book is published, within 2-4 days SCP-XXXX will put the book somewhere among the other books in its containment. When these books are moved more than 30 meters away from SCP-XXXX, it will display physical harm and and will forget about the book. Where SCP-XXXX gets these books from is unknown. Books that SCP-XXXX-2 ignore and do not stack are ones that can be brought out because they do not causing any harm to SCP-XXXX when moved more than 30 meters away from SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a book that was written by SCP-XXXX. The book is written in English, Russian, Latin, and traditional Japanese. SCP-XXXX-1 is about SCP-XXXX’s thoughts. After reading and closing SCP-XXXX-1, the reader develops Hyperthymesia and a fast acting Uveitis for however much time the reader read SCP-XXXX-1. If the eye is destroyed by the Uveitis then a new eye will form. This new eye is the same as the eye of SCP-XXXX. Within 4 hours the person will transform into SCP-XXXX-2. The transformation takes from 4 hours to 4 days.

SCP-XXXX-2 is 1.2 meter gray sphere with 16 tentacles and a 1 meter eye like SCP-XXXX’s. SCP-XXXX-2 organizes the books in SCP-XXXX's containment in alphabetical order but all names are moved up or down by 4 in the cezar code depending on which side of the hallway it is. If it is on the left side the name is moved up, for the right side the name is moved down. There are 5 instances of SCP-XXXX-2 so far. Both SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 talk through telepathy. SCP-XXXX can talk out loud but will most of the time use telepathy. Upon damaging a book, All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will track down and attack the one who damaged the book. How SCP-XXXX-2 hunts the one who damaged the book is by using echolocation to find it’s target. SCP-XXXX-2 will climb walls to jump onto its target. SCP-XXXX-2 attacks by attempting to immobilize its target then bite the targets head. Victims then pass out and when woken up will have no memory about SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-2 and will develop executive function disorder. The stacks of books in SCP-XXXX’s containment are put in a maze by SCP-XXXX-2. The maze changes on average every 4 days. Apon SCP-XXXX-2 being 27 meters away from SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-2 will consume there tentacles and Southern White-Faced Owls will seemingly "grow" out of SCP-XXXX-2 until only nothing is left of SCP-XXXX-2. These owls have not displayed any anomalous effects.

Addendums:

Addendum-1: Conversation between Dr.████ and SCP-XXXX on how it knows seemingly everything.

Begin Log
Dr. ████: SCP-XXXX, how do-
SCP-XXXX: Cognitionis.
Dr. ████: What?
SCP-XXXX: My name is Cognitionis. What were you going to say?
Dr. ████: How do you know seemingly everything?
SCP-XXXX: I don't know everything. I just know everything humans know. Therefore, it gives the illusion that I know everything.
Dr. ████: But, how?
SCP-XXXX: Quite the paradox isn't it? I know everything you know but not what you don't know. Yet how could I if you didn't know? Yet I do. So, am I telling the truth?
End Log

Addendum-2: SCP-XXXX was ask to create a portal that both began and terminated within the containment area. Subject complied.

D-1978: Ok. Going in.
D-1978 walks in to portal.
D-1978 Puts hand in to portal.
Dr. ██████: D-4444, Hello?
D-1978: I… feel weird.
Dr. ██████: Why aren't you out yet?
D-1978: Is that my arm?!
Dr. ██████: What happened?
D-1978 screams and starts to hyperventilate
D-1978: My body! It's… I'm being torn apart!
Dr. ██████: Does it hurt?
D-1978: No. My arms and legs just keep floating further and further away… Wait! I think thats the other side!
Dr. ██████: What…. What is that?
D-1978: What do you mean?
End Log

D-1978 Comes out the other side of the portal with his arms attached to his neck and his legs are in between his chest and hip. D-1981’s face is split in 2 where his legs should be and his stomach and intestines are attached to his shoulders. There’s also no skin anywhere on is body. D-1981 expired 4 hours after testing concluded. Prior to expiring, subject's systems appeared to be functioning at baseline despite D-1981's degree of mutilation being considered incompatible with life. When bodily fluids reached the end of a limb it would instead go to the correct place as if it was still connected. Autopsy revealed that D-1981 died to a sudden stroke.

Addendum-3: Dr. ████ asking SCP-XXXX how it makes “portals”.

Begin Log
Dr. ████: SCP-
SCP-XXXX: Cognitionis.
Dr. ████: Right, how do you make portals?
SCP-XXXX: A portal is… it is like a hole in clay. You can easily make a hole then cover it back up. Only that in real life… it’s a bit more hard. Try pulling apart space itself. If you do, there can’t be nothing there. That would be a vacuum. You can make those. This is a hole in reality. It has to go somewhere, anywhere.
Dr. ████: So, you can make the end of these portals anywhere?
SCP-XXXX: No. Again, try pulling apart space itself. Then hold it. Saying that you can't, I think that's enough reason to say that I have my limits too.
