Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The city block containing SCP-XXXX has been purchased by a Foundation shell company, and its exterior has been disguised to make it appear derelict. All points of entry are sealed, and fitted with low-level memetic triggers to further defer outside interest. A security officer is stationed at a nearby observation post in order to monitor SCP-XXXX and perform routine check-ups on SCP-XXXX-1-4. Any researchers wishing to enter SCP-XXXX or interview SCP-XXXX-1-4 must first submit an application to Director Purkiss for approval.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an Indian restaurant named the Shanaz Curry House, located in the London Borough of Croydon. SCP-XXXX is inhabited by four anomalous individuals resembling the four members of the Swedish pop group ABBA; Agnetha Faltskog (SCP-XXXX-1), Bjorn Ulvaeus (SCP-XXXX-2), Benny Andersson (SCP-XXXX-3) and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (SCP-XXXX-4).
SCP-XXXX-1-4 originally manifested on █/█/1981, when they report awakening to find themselves in the kitchen of SCP-XXXX, having previously fallen asleep at the Capgras Hotel in Brisbane1 following a concert at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. SCP-XXXX-1-4 are unable to leave SCP-XXXX, and any attempt to do so will result in them being teleported from their point of exit back to the kitchen.
SCP-XXXX-1-4 possess memories of events prior to █/█/1981 which appear to be consistent with the documented lives of the original band members; the only discrepancy is that the band is known to have been in Sweden at the time SCP-XXXX-1-4 claim to have been touring in Australia. While the Foundation’s official position is that SCP-XXXX-1-4 are duplicates of the original band members, created via as-of-yet unknown anomalous means, SCP-XXXX-1-4 maintain that they are the original band members, and that the individuals known to the public as Ms Faltskog, Mr Ulvaeus, Mr Andersson and Ms Lyngstad are imposters who have stolen their identities. This has not been definitively disproved, but comprehensive monitoring of Ms Flatskog, Mr Ulvaeus, Mr Andersson and Ms Lyngstad has not uncovered any evidence to suggest that this is the case.
Every 24 hours, at precisely 00:30 GMT, SCP-XXXX will “reset” to the exact state it was in at the point at which SCP-XXXX-1-4 originally manifested.2 If a male subject apart from SCP-XXXX-2 or SCP-XXXX-3 is present inside SCP-XXXX when this happens, they will be teleported to the current home of either Ms Faltskog or Ms Lyngstad, where they will be mistaken for an intruder. This is the only circumstance under which SCP-XXXX is known to affect or have any association with any of the original band members. Female subjects apart from SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-4 present inside SCP-XXXX will simply disappear, and have not been found to reappear elsewhere.
SCP-XXXX-1-4 are effectively immortal, as they are “reset” along with everything else inside SCP-XXXX at 00:30 GMT, and if they die, they will be resurrected at the start of the next 24 hour cycle. However, they still retain memories of previous cycles, which has caused their mental health to deteriorate significantly over the course of the 39 years (as of 2020) that the anomaly has been active.
Prior to █/█/1981, SCP-XXXX operated as a non-anomalous restaurant under the proprietorship of its founder, Mohammed Hossain, who emigrated to the United Kingdom from Bangladesh in 1974. Mr Hossain discovered SCP-XXXX-1-4 upon arriving at the restaurant at midday on █/█/1981, and when they were unable to comply with his demands for them to vacate the premises, he reported them to the police. An agent stationed within the Metropolitan Police alerted the Foundation, and Mobile Task Force Delta-17 (“Super Troupers”) was dispatched to contain SCP-XXXX and administer amnestics to Mr Hossain and the other restaurant staff.
