Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a matchbox in the item containment unit in Site 45. If flipped for any reason, please record how the coin landed.
If a(n) XXXX-A event occured, consider the object contained.
If a(n) XXXX-B event occured, note the time, location, and instances changed in the Flip Log.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a US nickel made in 1984. This coin, when flipped, will land on heads or tails. Rolling, throwing, or flipping the coin between one side or another will also create the effects listed below. Approximately 3% 18% 37% 85% of nickels currently in circulation are copies of SCP- XXXX.
This effects detailed below occur only once the coin is viewed by somebody by any means. This includes through video and photographic means. It is also impossible to tell which side of the coin landed face up without visual evidence. Even if the coin is flipped slowly, the face appearing upwards will always be random. Also, the feel of the coin will be entirely smooth with no identifying textures until viewed, at which point it will regain texture.
When flipped to land on heads, a(n) XXXX-A event will occur. This event consists of an imaginary number increasing by one. All instances of SCP-XXXX will increase the number by one until it is reset by an XXXX-B event. Thankfully, nothing else happens as far as we can tell.
When it lands on tails, a(n) XXXX-B event occurs. For every consecutive time the coin had come up heads before a tails was flipped, a separate XXXX-B event will occur. During an XXXX-B event, a random US nickel anywhere in the world will gain the properties of SCP-XXXX for a number of days equal to the number of SCP-XXXX duplicates.
When SCP-XXXX is flipped and it lands on its side, an XXXX-C event occurs. In this instance, any instances of SCP-XXXX copies are returned to being normal nickels, and the counter is reset.
Hold on, doesn't this make no sense? If the nickel makes other nickels into SCPs, and then transforms them back, what's the point? Is the nickel even magical?
Test A
Subject: D-167849
Procedure: D-167849 was instructed to flip SCP-XXXX.
Results: The coin landed on heads, and he just disappeared. One of the cameras caught him moving towards the coin, but it was really just to fast for us to see.
Analysis: We don't know entirely what just happened, but we should probably attach some equipment to the next D-class we use. We have enough teleportation around here to get a set ready for the next flip.
Test B
Subject: D-149856
Procedure: D-149856 was given some radio equipment and a camera to record what happens to him. We should be able to see what happens this time. He was instructed to flip the coin.
Results: The coin landed tails, we will try again in a minute or so.
Analysis: This flip didn't seem to do anything, but the next one hopefully will.
Test C
Subject: D-149856
Procedure: D-149856 was instructed to flip the coin.
Results: The coin landed heads this time, but the D-class closed his eyes for the flip and didn't go anywhere. However, my assistant Dr. Heins took a look at the screen showing the coin after the flip and disappeared.
Analysis: The coin seems to teleport the people that see it first after a flip, but only if it is heads. Not sure what tails does- if anything- but we will instruct the D-class to keep his eyes on the coin for the next test. Also, I need a new assistant. We can continue the tests tomorrow.
Test D
Subject: D-149856
Procedure: D-149856 was instructed to flip the coin and keep his eyes open.
Results: These results may be found in the Exploration Logs section.
Analysis: We just got a call from one of our agents stationed in L.A. He says that he watched someone flip a coin and catch it, glance at the results, and disappear. The time was stamped at 1 o'clock this morning. We are currently looking into any correlation with SCP-XXXX.

Current number of SCP-XXXX: ~ 350 million. Most are inactive, but estimates are telling us that 100% of all nickels will be SCP-XXXX instances within 50 years. So far, no one has been able to come up with an idea to stop the spread while remaining anonymous to the public. Anyone have any ideas?
Destroy all Nickels They are too widespread
Destroy SCP-XXXX nickels We can't. That would be almost as bad as the one above. 15% is far too many nickels to get rid of.
Run the coin-flipping industry to the ground That may work, but nickels that just flip over are gonna trigger. It won't do any good.
Stop making nickels Yeah, this could work.
The Ethics Committee is talking it over with the Government, but it may not happen. New ideas?
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP- XXXX is contained in a small felt case with the clicker set so the nib is within the casing. Until further testing is done, please do not step on the Transportation Pad.
Description: SCP- XXXX is a pen, with a black ivory casing and gold highlights. The pen writes with a limited amount of ink, and the cartridge must be replaced after 8 trips down the Transportation Pad. The ink can be of any color, as long as it is within the visible spectrum. Using blood does not increase the speed.
The pen, when used to write in a straight line for three (3) centimeters, will continue to write in the line until the pen goes off the paper and writes another 3 centimeters on a non-paper surface. The movement of any limbs is involuntary to make the line, and fingers used to write the line are stuck to the pen until after it has finished off the paper.
The speed that the pen draws the line increases in a linear fashion, and testing has resulted in speeds of nearly 100 kilometers and hour.
Test A
Subject: D-495230
Procedure: The D-Class will have a standard 8.5 by 11 inch piece of paper and a ruler. He will Use the ruler to slowly draw a line until the pen begins to move on its own.
Results: The moment the pen started to move anonymously was indicated by a yelp, and the D-Class's arm was dragged horizontally with the pen until it drew on the table.
Analysis: More tests should be done.
Test B
Subject: D-495230
Procedure: The D-Class will be drawing on a mobius strip
Results: The pen ran off the mobius strip and onto the table. It did not move along the strip
Analysis: The pen moves along the surface that it starts on, and doesn't follow a curve.
Test C
Subject: D-495230
Procedure: The D-Class will draw on a ring of paper that will spin at a speeds of up to 10k RPM against the direction of the pen's movement.
Results: The machine broke! I mean it started off pretty slow, but then it sped up, and the pen jumped once it hit the limit! The D-Class was carried through the adjoining wall by the pen, which scratched a line into the concrete. The D-Class wasn't so lucky.
Analysis: Unless we have safety precautions in place, no one should try to speed this thing up. I don't think there's a limit to how fast it can travel.
Test D
Subject: D-456721
Procedure: The D-Class will be strapped to an overhead rail line via harness. He will draw a line parallel to the edge of the page, and the pen will move from one side of Site 35 to the other using the paper we have strung together. There is a catching net. so the D-Class will not explode
Results: It worked! We have successfully created the first high-speed drawing-based transportation system using our newly named 'Transportation Pad'.
Analysis: We really shouldn't use this as often as we do, but it is really useful to send someone across Site in a minute. I will be asking the Site Director for official approval to use the Transportation Pad as a means of getting around the Site.
