No clear descriptions of SCP-3110-J have been recorded due to subject trauma. However, this is an estimated image based on all the vague descriptions given by subjects.
Item #: SCP-3110-J
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-3110-J is to be kept in a standard cell adjacent to an observation room; separated by glass. The item must be obscured from the observation room via concrete block of the appropriate height and width. The containment cell may be accessed for experimentation. Any personnel accessing the cell are to be thoroughly briefed on potential mental effects of SCP-3110-J before access and are to be submitted for immediate psychiatric evaluation afterwards. Subjects of SCP-3110-J are to be kept under 24 hour video surveillance for the study of possible long-term effects.
Description: SCP-3110-J is a jack o lantern with no obvious visual differences to a standard jack o lantern. It has a direct line-of-sight cognitohazard viewable from all sides of the object but especially effective from the front. Images and videos of SCP-3110-J are known to contain the cognitohazard albeit weakened.
Upon viewing SCP-3110-J, the subject will have a strong mental and emotional reaction of "being spooked" and will frequently jump in shock.
Extended viewing will not continue the immediate effect, instead, subjects report feelings of dread, despair and shock. Subjects have reported that breaking line-of-sight will remove the effects experienced. Please note that this will not remove the cognitohazard for that subject.
Long term effects have not been noticed by staff however a team of class C personnel are studying subjects that have viewed SCP-3110-J.
Note from Dr. Clef: Please stop leaving pictures of SCP-3110-J on my desk.
