The cul di sac where SCP-XXXX is located is to be walled off to prevent entry from the surface level. Access to the cul di sac should only be accessible through the sewers beneath the city of █████████████, California. Houses on the cul di sac are to remain vacant. Security personnel are to patrol the area near the wall while dressed in standard civilian clothing to prevent anyone from attempting to climb the wall.
Description:
SCP-XXXX refers to the sidewalk tiles located at ██████ Ave. in █████████████, California. Tiles are indistinguishable from regular sidewalk tiles located throughout the city and are made from concrete. The biological maternal parent of any individual who steps on the cracks of SCP-XXXX will have their spines spontaneously snapped. All individuals had children who frequently played outdoors with one another.

Foreword: The following is an interview between one of the children of a victim of SCP-XXXX<Begin Log>
Dr. ██████: "Hey there buddy, mind if I ask you some questions about your mom?"

Subject: "Me and my friends were playing outside when it happened. We often joked that 'step on a crack, break your mothers back', but I always thought it was stupid and dumb."

Dr. ██████: "Alright, you said you and your friends were playing?"
Subject: "Yes, the other kids moms would break their backs all the time for no reason, but no one knows why. It's only when I tried disproving that stupid rhyme that my mom broke her back. This… this is all my fault." Subject begins to sob
Dr. ██████: Attempting to comfort subject in sympathetic tone "Hey, buddy. It's not your fault. The whole thing, its so ridiculous that there was no way you could know."

Closing Statement: The subject was administered amnesiacs along with all other residences of the neighborhood a day after being put into Foundation custody and were released. False memories were implanted to make them believe that the neighborhood had never existed, and that the victims of SCP-XXXX had died in a house fire.
Once secure, testing began with D-class test subjects.

Subject: D-8102. Hispanic male in late 20's
Procedure: Subject was instructed to step on one of the cracks. Subjects mother was put on foundation watch during experiment.
Results: Subjects mother dies from a sudden, unexplained fracture in her spinal chord.
Analysis: Anomalous properties confirmed. Further testing needed.

Subject: D-9144. Asian male in his sixties. Mother is deceased from a non-anomalous heart attack.
Procedure: Subject instructed to step on crack. Mothers body exhumed from graveyard in ████, Vietnam.
Results: Exhumed body of subjects mother has cracks that would have caused fatal damage if she were alive. Exhumed body taken to site-██ for further testing.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX affects do not discriminate between living, and deceased individuals.

Subject: D-1184. Caucasian female late thirties. Subject was adopted and never knew her biological mother. Mother tracked down using adoption agencies records.
Procedure: Subject was instructed to step on one of the cracks. Both subjects biological, and adopted mother were put on foundation watch during experiment.
Results: Subjects biological mother dies in the same fashion as previous subject. Adopted mother shows no symptoms.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX does not affect non-biological parents. SCP-XXXX still affects subjects biological mother regardless if they are aware of their indentity.

Subject: A clone of D-4932 (African male mid thirties) made using SCP-████.
Procedure: Subject was instructed to step on one of the cracks. The original mother of the cloned invidual was put on foundation watch.
Results: Originals subjects mother dies from a spontaneous crack to her back.
Analysis: Subjects mother will die, regardless if subject is a clone of the original or not.

Procedure: Subject was instructed to step on one of the cracks. The creator of subject (A foundation volunteer female in her late sixties)
Results: Subjects creator unharmed and experiences no anomalous properties.
Analysis: A human without a biological mother will not be affected, regardless of who created it.
