Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 5m x 5m x 2m room with a closed-circuit camera observing at all times. Once per hour a member on-site staff is to check SCP-XXXX and is to alert personnel if SCP-XXXX is observed to have 6 of its 7 on handle lights switched on. If alerted staff are to prepare procedure XXXX-Delta-13.
XXXX-Delta-13 is to be carried out by predecided D-Class personnel who has been shown to have caused SCP-XXXX to become green or blue. Said D-Class personnel is to pick up SCP-XXXX and touches the tip against an iron block of roughly size 65cm3. If all lights are observed to have switched off SCP-XXXX is to be replaced in its containment chamber.
All tests of SCP-XXXX must be permitted by Dr McGowen and have been preapproved by site command.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an unbranded ice pick of roughly 40cm. SCP-XXXX’s handle consists of an unknown metallic alloy with a consistency of household rubber and a length of 23cm. SCP-XXXX’s pick is made of a different alloy1 and has a length of 17cm.
Along SCP-XXXX’s handle can be found 7 spherical quartz crystals, each 0.5cm in radius with a gap of 2cm between each. Each crystal is capable of lighting up however to date source of light is unknown. Each crystal glows exponentially later than the previous, crystal one glowing after roughly 10 seconds with crystal seven glowing after approximately 116 days. As more of SCP-XXXX’s crystals begin to glow its overall strength increases and when used maximum output size increases.
If all 7 lights of SCP-XXXX remain on for more than 7 hours SCP-XXXX discharges a large explosion of roughly 8m in radius around itself. SCP-XXXX will then remain hovering for another 7 hours unless contact is made with SCP-XXXX’s handle. After either 7 hours or contact is made SCP-XXXX loses all ability to hover and crystals begin to light up at previous exponential rate.
When contact is not made, SCP-XXXX shows no anomalous effects are observed, apart from its indestructibility to its own effects.
When contact is made SCP-XXXX’s crystals will change colour based around the amounted of people SCP-XXXX’s current holder has murdered.
Blue Crystals – 0 Murders Committed
Green Crystals – 1-2 Murders Committed
Yellow Crystals – 3-5 Murders Committed
Orange Crystals – 6-10 Murders Committed
Red Crystals – 11+ Murders Committed
Once Held if SCP-XXXX’s pick comes in contact with any solid material SCP’s anomalous effect actives breaking down the material based around the colour SCP-XXXX crystal changed to.
Blue – Break into roughly 5 unevenly sized pieces
Green – Break down into a powder like dust
Yellow – Break down into atomic particles (Protons, Neutrons and Electrons)
Orange – Theorised to break down into Quarks (Not confirmed, most common theory)
Red – [Data Expunged]
Scan of Logo discovered on SCP-XXXX's Container
Addendum 1: SCP-XXXX was discovered outside of SCP San Diego front company ‘Simple comfort’s patisserie’ on 20th July 2013. It was discovered by field agent Woods at 10:00.
SCP-XXXX was left inside a box with only a label addressed ‘SCP Foundation’ and a logo of unknown affiliation.
After nearby evacuation, SCP-XXXX was taken into blast room by D-1362, who was then ordered to open SCP-XXXX’s container. No anomalous effects occurred upon opening SCP-XXXX’s container.
After proof of safety, SCP-XXXX was sent to site 19 for testing under the supervision of Dr. Green.
Upon review of camera footage outside Simple comfort’s patisserie at approximately 9:05 an average sized male wearing a store-bought Stormtrooper costume was seen placing SCP-XXXX’s container at the door before walking onward. POI was lost amongst similarly dressed men at nearby Comicon.
