SCP-XXXX: All I Want for Christmas
Special Containment Procedures: Friendly relations to major shopping centers (supermarkets, malls, outlets, etc.) in the United States are to be maintained. Shopping centers refusing to broadcast SCP-XXXX-2 during the SCP-XXXX Active period are to be convinced otherwise. If unable to be convinced, MTF Phi-XXXX ("Christmas Carolers") is to be dispatched to the location and to broadcast SCP-XXXX-1 themselves. In addition, TV and radio advertisements featuring Foundation front companies are also to use SCP-XXXX-1 as background music. All individuals exposed to SCP-XXXX are to be detained, exposed to SCP-XXXX-1, amnesticized, and released.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a hazardous meme integrated within the concept of the "Christmas season" (hereby referred to as the SCP-XXXX Active period) within the United States of America. The SCP-XXXX Active period lasts approximately from the end of Thanksgiving to December 26th. Known vectors of transmission for SCP-XXXX include:
-Buying products with the intent to wrap it as a gift for Christmas.
-Sitting on the lap of a mall Santa.
-Taking a picture of a mall Santa.
-Purchasing a coniferous tree.
-Decorating a coniferous tree.
-Hanging Christmas themed decorations.
-Consuming eggnog.
When an individual is exposed to SCP-XXXX, individuals will become violent towards those they deem "un-festive" and "without Christmas spirit". The criteria for determining these individuals is as of yet unknown, as each infected individual appear to have their own criteria for attacking. In addition, infected individuals tend to dress themselves in Christmas related objects, such as Santa costumes, Christmas lights, ornamental bulbs, and small angels. Another defining trait of infected individuals is the anomalous ability to spontaneously manifest Christmas related weaponry, which is the usual method of attack.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the designation for the anti-meme developed by Foundation memeticists to combat SCP-XXXX. It is known to the public as the song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey. The anti-meme is capable of lasting within an individual's mind for up to 5 weeks, ensuring that individuals would only need to hear it once in order to be protected from SCP-XXXX for the entirety of its Active period.
