Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a circular enclosure no smaller than 15 meters radius. This should contain shelters that SCP-XXXX can hide under or stand between, as this seems to keep it calm and results in the least number of incidents. A light should be on during the times of sunrise and sunset at longitude ██.██ and latitude ██.██ to simulate the sun. Lighting of the room outside of these hours can result in SCP becoming agitated and more incidents may occur. Personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX should apply protective, sound-proof headphones, when entering the enclosure as SCP-XXXX is known to emit a long, high-pitched scream that can cause insanity, extensive bleeding from the eyes and ears, and death when heard. Personnel exposed to the noise without proper gear who do not experience death should be contained for further study.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a chimera-like creature of a dog-deer with no flesh covering the bottom part of its skull. It has a dog-like tail, ears, front legs, and teeth, and deer-like antlers, body, hind legs, and snout. It’s antlers come to a point above its skull that fuses to the exact middle of its spine and its head is tilted towards the posterior, so it’s eyes, which are positioned at the sides of its head, are roughly angled at 210 degrees from the upright position and its teeth are facing roughly 120 degrees from the upright position. It is approximately 1.5 meters in length and 2.1 meters tall.

SCP-XXXX creates an anomaly that was first observed on the 22 of September, 1999 by two hunters passing by a small grove of trees while recording themselves. The SCP-XXXX first appeared to be a wolf hanging from a tree, but when approached it let out a scream that the hikers described as ‘human-like.’ Upon hearing this sound, the hikers began to bleed from their eyes and ears and collapsed to the ground.

Personnel from the Foundation arrived at the grove after receiving the film. SCP-XXXX was still there and became violent when personnel attempted to remove it. After the sun set at around 20:00, SCP-XXXX became calm and allowed personnel to transport it in the dark. SCP-XXXX’s enclosure was designed to resemble the grove of trees with lighting procedures closely following the times of the sunrise and set at the location.

Removal of the SCP-XXXX from its original location decreased the rumors of —- in the area, and the number of unexplained deaths.

SCP-XXXX-A
Personnel exposure to the sound emitted by SCP-XXXX without proper protection are removed from the caretaking of SCP-XXXX and taken for further study. Effects observed in those who are not immediately deceased upon exposure (see SPC-XXXX-B) include uncontrollable bleeding from they eyes, ears, and sometimes mouth, the appearance of agitation and pacing, and mutterings or ramblings that appear nonsensical. Most subjects decease during a period of 3-7 days after exposure, at which time they are transported to the morgue. Dr. ████, who has been placed in charge of the study, has suggested euthanasia for many of the subjects who have exhibited no changes in behaviour since immediately after exposure and did not decease during the expected period. Three subjects who appear to be less severely affected by the exposure have become the main focus of the study. D-870, D-529, and D-661 exhibited signs of psychosis and some physical effects after exposure but appear to be the most coherent of the subjects. D-870 began bleeding from his eyes and shaking uncontrollably after exposure, and can only speak in broken sentences. Dr. ██, who has been placed in charge of studying D-870 due to his experience with mute patients, discovered that he could communicate through sign language and the following conversation has been transcribed from the video recording of the incident.

Interviewed: [D-870]

Interviewer: [Dr. ██]

Foreword: [A discussion between Dr. ██ and subject D-870. Dr. ██ speaks aloud, D-870 uses ASL while muttering incoherently under his breath.]

<Begin Log>

Dr. ██: [Can you understand me?]

D-870: [Yes, I- who are you?]

Dr. ██: [I am Dr. ██. Do you remember what happened when you entered the enclosure of SCP-XXXX?]

D-870: [What I mean by what?]

Dr. ██: [D-870, can you understand me?]

D-870: [Why is it- am I dying?]

Dr. ██: [D-870, can you please tell me what happened when you entered the containment room of SCP-XXXX?]
D-870: [It looked at me, with eyes that went on forever and ever and ever and –]

Dr. ██: [(speaking over) D-870, what else happened?]
D-870: [-ever and ever and ever and ever and –]
Subject continues for █ minutes while Dr sits quietly and waits. When Dr moves to stand, patient yells loudly

Dr. ██: [ (sitting back down) D-870, do you remember anything else?]
D-870: [ It screamed, and I thought it was going to stab right into my head. Aand I felt like I was falling. I’m still falling. Down and down and down.]

Dr. ██: [What do you mean, you are falling?]
D-870 crumples to the table. The Dr jumps to his feet as two personnel rush into the room and check the subject. He is pronounced dead and the recording ends.

Closing Statement: [D-870 was declared deceased 15 days after exposure.]

D-529 exhibited similar physical symptoms but spoke in a continuous, unbroken stream and showed no ability to speak through sign language. She repeated the phrase, “This is mine. Stay away,” every █ minutes. D-529 is currently constrained within a straightjacket, but shows no signs of moving besides rocking back and forth. At exactly 12:00 and 00:00 every day, she becomes quite for █ █ minutes and will accept food and water. After this time, she returns to her previous state. It has now been █ days since exposure.

D-661 exhibited symptoms of severe depression and dissociative personality disorder after exposure to SCP-XXXX. She has been placed under 24-hour supervision. Her three personalities exhibited have been designated D-661A, D-661B, and D-661C. D-661A whispered softly in an unknown language for several days but has since been deemed unresponsive and when surfacing causes D-661 to lay quitely with eyes closed. D-661B is extremely dangerous. Personnel monitering D-661 have been informed to watch for a sudden jerking motion followed by a clap. Having observed this, personnel are instructed to evacuate the room within ██ seconds and lock the door. D-661B will then surface and begin to pace, muttering softly. If left alone, D-661B does no more than this. If she encounters a person, she will begin to savagely attack them with fists and teeth. This phase seems to last only an hour or so. D-661C appears to be the only alter that can provide information and is calm and compliant. Dr. ██ also works with D-661C. The following is a transcribed conversation between Dr. ██ and D-661C.

Interviewed: [D-661C]

Interviewer: [Dr. ██]

Foreword: [A discussion between Dr. ██ and subject D-661C. D-661C is calm, seated with her hands crossed on the table and a slight smile.]

<Begin Log>

Dr. ██: [Hello D-661C. How are you feeling today?]

D-661C: [Hello Dr. ██. I'm quite all right.]

Dr. ██: [Have you remembered anything about your encounter?]

D-661C: [ I - I think so. I had a dream about falling through these deep black eyes and feeling like I was… I think I was underwater. ]
Dr. ██: [Interesting. Do you remember anything else?]
D-661C: [There was… there was a voice whispering… I (D-661C grabs her head and whimpers, beginning to shake) it was saying something… something about keeping out, and staying away -]
Dr. ██: [D-661C, are you alright?]
(D-661C began to speak incoherantly. Dr. ██ stood slowly from the table and began taking slow steps towards the door. D-661 exhibited the twitch and Dr. ██ quickly exited the room. Recording ends.)

Closing Statement: [No further information]

SCP-XXXX-B
Subjects deceased after exposure have been transported to the morgue for autopsy by Dr. █. Subjects have been found to have blood that is 3 times thicker than average and is a dark black colour. This does not appear to be the cause of death. Dr. █ suspects that patients have deceased from [REDACTED], but further investigation is required.
