Item #: SCP-4750

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: All information pertaining to SCP-4750’s existence is to be destroyed. If an individual is believed to have been taken to SCP-4750, the location where they disappeared from must be blocked from public access and monitored by foundation personnel. Individuals who have been released from SCP-4750 are to be imprisoned or terminated; the choice of which is to be voted on by the O5 Council.

Foundation personnel who have caused the deaths of upwards of 10,000 people must not partake in any activity which may end in any disastrous outcome (containment breach, deaths etc.) if the respective individual suddenly disappears.

Description: SCP-4750 is a room with no observed roof or walls of an unknown size. The floor of SCP-4750 is reportedly constructed out of concrete. An individual inside SCP-4750 will see that a spherical area with a radius of around 2m around them is illuminated, this light appears to be attached to victims, and will stay present no matter how far they walk away from where they entered SCP-4750. The source of this illumination is unknown. Apart from this, no light is reported to have been observed in SCP-4750. At present, a method of intentionally entering SCP-4750 has not been found. All efforts to find the location of SCP-4750 have failed.

In the aftermath of major manmade catastrophes, individuals will disappear and reappear within SCP-4750. The intervals between individuals being transported to SCP-4750 have no observable pattern between them. With anywhere from 3 days to 8 years elapsing between disappearances. The victims of SCP-4750, however, do have a pattern. All victims of SCP-4750 have committed atrocities of a high magnitude; such as, genocide or another form of mass murder.

While inside SCP-4750, victims will have no contact with any other individual. Even though there are multiple victims within SCP-4750 at one time. It is unknown whether this is because there are multiple instances of SCP-4750 (one per victim) or if SCP-4750’s sheer size prevents any communication between victims.

Victims of SCP-4750 will also not require any form of sustenance, including food and water; and they will not experience thirst, hunger, and by extension will have no need to defecate or urinate. Victims will also not age or experience physical pain while within SCP-4750. Therefore, a victim of SCP-4750 can not die through any available means. The cause of these anomalous effects of SCP-4750 is unknown.

Some prisoners of SCP-4750 report seeing SCP-4750-1, a humanoid entity with no ████ or █████. All prisoners who have seen SCP-4750-1 report that it stands at the very edge of what they can see from their limited light source, and eventually fades back into the dark. No prisoners have reported being attacked or have had any interaction with SCP-4750-1.

After a certain amount of time, victims will be released from SCP-4750. They will materialize at the location they were located at right before they first entered SCP-4750. The amount of time they spend inside SCP-4750 is directly correlated with severity of their atrocities. It has been observed that an individual who caused several hundred thousand casualties will spend approximately 100 years in SCP-4750 before leaving. Individuals who have committed genocides which have resulted in upwards of ten million casualties1 have never been observed to return from SCP-4750.

Discovery: Evidence of the existence of an object with SCP-4750’s effect has been found to date back to 41 CE. When Caligula, Emperor of the Roman Empire, disappeared from the imperial palace. In 1201 CE, a man matching Caligula’s appearance appeared in the ruins of the imperial palace and committed suicide using a sword which he stole from a nearby guard. The foundation has been successful in destroying all historical documentation and literature containing the true sequence of events surrounding Caligula’s disappearance and subsequent reappearance. These events have been replaced with the story of Cassius Chaerea murdering him after a plot involving the army, the senate and the Praetorian Guard.

Similar events have been recorded in later years. The victims of which include, but are not limited to: Tsar of the Russian Empire Ivan IV Vasilyevich (colloquially known as Ivan the Terrible), King of Belgium Leopold II, Fuhrer of Germany Adolf Hitler and Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Mao Zedong. Evidence of these events have been destroyed and replaced with appropriate cover stories.

Details about SCP-4750 were not discovered until 1978, when O5-██ appeared in their office and subsequently told the O5 Council everything they knew about SCP-4750 from their 55 years within. Because the title of O5-██ had been given to someone else after their disappearance in 1923, the O5 council voted to make a special exception for the former O5-██ to work at the foundation as a researcher under the alias Dr. ████ █████████.

Interview Log:

Interviewer: O5-██

Interviewee: The former O5-██

Opening Statement: When O5-██ suddenly returned from SCP-4750, the O5 council decided to allow O5-██, a personal friend of the former O5, to interview them. The former O5 will be referred to as “subject” to avoid confusion.

<Begin Log>

O5-██: How are you, friend.

Subject: Oh… you know. Still a bit shaken up, but glad to be back.

O5-██: You’re not thinking about…

Subject interrupts O5-██.

Subject: Suicide? No. I figured out what happened during however many years I was in there, I knew I must of been one of those bad people who disappeared. Especially seeing as it was soon after I sent that town to SCP-████. I know a lot of us kill ourselves after we get out… but you know me, I’m never that illogical.

O5-██: I see… good… very good. Now, I’ll be glad to talk to you as a friend later, but the rest of the O5 will kill me if I don’t ask you some questions about where you went soon… are you up for that?

Subject: Of course. Not that there’s much to tell.

O5-██: Right… well… I guess, describe what it was like.

Subject: Well… It was dark, really dark. I seemed to generate a light from my body… which was weird… so I could see a little bit. But other than that, it was all dark.

O5-██: What could you see?

Subject sighs.

Subject: Not much at all. Just one, long, endless, concrete floor.

O5-██: What about walls? A roof?

Subject: I walked and walked and walked… never found any walls. As for a roof… if there was one, it out of the little line of sight that I had.

O5-██: Did you ever see any other prisoners?

Subject: No prisoners, although a few times I did see a weird face just peeking out from the darkness. It had no ████ or █████ or ████████ or anything. I figured I was just seeing things… although I never hallucinated other then that.

O5-██: Huh… interesting… we’ve actually found something which matches that description since you’ve been gone.

Subject: Oh? What is it?

O5-██: I can’t remember the number off the top of my head, I’ll show you later… Is there anything else you can tell me?

Subject: Sorry, no. There really wasn’t much of anything in there.

O5-██: That’s okay… I guess we’re done here then.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: Subject was shown a picture of SCP-███-1 and confirmed that it matched what he saw within SCP-4750. At present, it is unknown whether SCP-4750-1 is the same entity as SCP-███-1, if there are multiple instances of SCP-███-1, or if SCP-4750-1 just looks remarkably similar to SCP-███-1.

This document also shows that the time which a prisoner spends within SCP-4750 also correlates to the motivation behind their atrocities. As O5-██’s actions, which were motivated by protecting the Foundation, caused █,███,███ casualties but they only spent 55 years within SCP-4750.

Addendum 4750-1 Interview Log: On the █/█/2003, Former Chairman of the Soviet Union Vladimir Lenin appeared in his former home after spending approximately 79 years within SCP-4750. He was quickly apprehended by Foundation personnel. The following Interview was taken after Vladimir Lenin had been brought to foundation facilities.

Interviewer: Dr. █████

Interviewee: Vladimir Lenin

Opening Statement: This interview was conducted in Vladimir Lenin’s native language of Russian and has been translated into English.

<Begin Log>

Lenin is observed rocking back and forth and breathing erratically.

Dr. █████: Mr Lenin. How…

Lenin interrupts Dr. █████

Lenin: Why… why did I leave?

Dr. █████ appears startled, but soon continues. Lenin’s panting increases in volume.

Dr. █████: Why did you go to that place, or why did you come back?

Lenin: Just… all of it. Please explain…. Just tell me!

Dr. █████: Okay… okay. It appears that you were sent to a place we call SCP-4750… lets just call it the room to make it easy…

Lenin: Why was I sent there… why!

Dr. █████: All the people that are sent there have caused the deaths of many people. That’s all we know.

Lenin: So… so… I was being punished?

Dr. █████: That is… a likely reason… but we simply don’t know.

Lenin stops rocking back and forth and panting and sits still, looking at the floor. Dr. █████ waits approximately 40 seconds before continuing questioning.

Dr. █████: Um… did you ever see a face with no ████ or █████ when you were in the room?

Lenin: Yeah… yeah I did. Creepy motherfucker. He came and checked on me a few times, never said anything, never did anything…

Dr. █████: Okay… did you ever find any walls or a roof?

Lenin: No… but… I did find a █████████.

Dr. █████: A █████████, sir?

Lenin nods slightly.

Dr. █████: Can you describe it in detail?

Lenin: It kind of came down from the darkness… I tried looking up there… couldn’t see anything. And when I tried to ████ up it, I couldn’t, I was just thrown back. The face was there too… just watching me. Oh… and I heard the sound of a ██████ girl.

Dr. █████ is silent for approximately 5 seconds.

Dr. █████: I… see…

The room is silent for approximately 1 minute.

Lenin: How many…

Dr. █████: How many what?

Lenin: How many deaths…

Dr. █████: Oh… estimates show a couple hundred thousand.

Lenin: Oh…

Lenin is silent for approximately 40 seconds.

Lenin: Who… who made that… place.

Dr. █████: We don’t know.

Lenin: Was it god? Was that place hell?

Dr. █████: I’m sorry sir, we just don’t know.

Lenin: I see… can I… be on my own… for a while?

Dr. █████: Of course.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: Dr. █████ left the room. Vladimir Lenin subsequently began repeatedly bashing his head against the table in an attempt to commit suicide; eventually knocking himself unconscious before Foundation personnel could stop him. Lenin was taken to intensive care where he was given treatment for his physical wounds and his mental illness. O5 Council voted to keep Lenin alive under Foundation custody 10-2. Lenin is currently living in Site-88, with no further health complications.2

Addendum 4750-2 Message for the Foundation:

The following message appeared in this file on ██/██/2014. The O5 Council voted to leave the message in the file with appropriate redactions.

To the Foundation.

You have done well so far. But no matter what you do, no matter how much she █████, she is ██████. She’s the only one powerful enough to ever get through the shield. She’s weak now, but that could change. So, keep the door shut.

We will find you when you need us.
An ally.
