Item #: SCP-40??
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-40??'s chamber must have an infrared camera installed and monitored 24/7. SCP-40?? Is to be contained in a 5x5x5 meter container, resistant to any bending or breakage. The outside of its container must have electricity flowing at 75,000 volts. The door to SCP-40??'s containment MUST not have any gaps as it can slip through these areas. A weekly inspection of SCP-40?? must be conducted for any cracks and holes in the container. A temporary container can be provided to aid in recontainment. This temporary container is to be designed to force SCP-40?? into the shape of the container.
In event of SCP-40?? breaching containment, all personnel are required to report any strange behavior from any other personnel immediately such as lack of speech, extra or missing parts, and irregular body movement, assuming it did not touch one of the electrified walls. If SCP-40?? takes on the shape of an inanimate object, Personnel are to search for an object in unusual places (See Addendum 40??-2.) When in transport for testing, SCP-40?? must be stunned and secured within a Class IV Restriction Harness, SCP-40?? must be monitored by no less than four guards.
Description: SCP-40?? in its true from a pale bipedal reptilian approximately 3.35 meters long and weighs 113.4 kilograms. SCP-40?? has four tendrils on its back. The longest always being equal length to the tail of SCP-40?? with the last three tendrils varying in lengths.
SCP-40?? is capable of changing its own color to blend with the background, rendering it invisible without infrared headgear. The speed of the color changing will vary, the change will fade into the color, other times it will be near instantaneous.
SCP-40?? has been observed to change its physical form into anything it has observed. If it were to shift into a small object, it would weigh exactly like the object in question. For example, if SCP-40?? were to change into a paper cup, SCP-40?? will weigh as said cup. Where the lost mass goes is currently unknown as it goes against the conservation of mass. SCP-40?? has been notoriously known for taking the shape of high ranking scientists or guards, making some to think it has breached containment it will however, act differently than whomever SCP-40?? has taken the form of. If SCP-40?? were to take any damage such as a burn or a cut, SCP-40?? will detach the injured part and regenerate the part. After an average of 2 months, the body part will be fully regenerated similar to that of tails of some reptile species.
On terms of intelligence, SCP-40?? is not sapient and has repetitively attempted tried to breach containment by repeating it's successful breaches expecting to break free.
Acquisition: SCP-40?? was brought to the Foundation's attention on ██/██/19██ when CCTV footage showed an amorphous entity attempt to break into a building by taking the form of an employee (assumingly to find food) but struggling to get passed a keycoded door. Frustrated, SCP-40?? grumbled and took to its true shape. SCP-40?? was recovered in the form of a domestic house cat and was caught mid transition in previously given form. SCP-40?? has since been taken into the Foundation's custody.
Incident Report-40??-1 On: ██/██/20██ SCP-40?? breached containment by expanding itself until the door burst open killed █ and injured ██ people. SCP-40?? attempted to impersonate Dr. ████. Electric and bend resistant walls have been added since this event to incapacitate it and prevent a future breach.
Incident Report: SCP-40??-2 On ██/██/20██, SCP-40?? Changed its skin to appear invisible. Upon the door being opened, SCP-40?? has escaped, and disguised itself as a coffee mug found in the armory. SCP-40?? was found and re-contained approximately 46 minutes later.
SCP-40XX prior to containment.
Item #: SCP-40??
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-40XX is to be kept in a 2m x 5m x 5m room SCP-40XX locked in a box no smaller than 30 cm x 30 cm x 25 is to be monitored by one guard of security clearance level 2 at all times at Site-███. Any tests on SCP-40XX are to be monitored by researchers of level 3 clearance.
For obvious reasons this area is still being worked on. Please note I'm a total brick. the description is being worked on. Bare with the future me.
Description SCP-40XX is a small leather notebook measuring at 28 cm x 20 cm with 426 pages some of which have been torn out. The cover of SCP-40XX have the words "Inner Artist" written in a black murky text, with "Journal" written below. The contents of SCP-40XX contain detailed drawings of various objects and animals. Some pages of SCP-40XX contain objects of plant and animal life that have not been identifiable either due to the drawing being smudged beyond recognition or possibly being extraterrestrial. Several drawings were sketched in pencil graphite while others were done in pen. Those that are in pen seem to be in varying styles from free-handed to a more structural drawing. All Attempts to mark or damage SCP-40XX have resulted in failure.
Half way through the book is a page reading "ATTENTION! THE FOLLOWING PAGES ARE TOP SECRET!"Should a person continue to look through the sketch book, the pages have been observed to move or change. While these drawings are made in a similar manner to those before the warning page, these pages appear to have a more rushed appearance. Subjects also report feeling distressed or sickened by the drawings. An entity will rise from the pages of SCP-4XXX after viewing these pages for approximately 5 minutes. This will be referred to as SCP-4XXX-2 from this point forward.
SCP-4XXX-2 is 2.1 meters tall at the shoulder and ape like in appearance. SCP-4XXX-2 is made up a of pitch black liquid, upon chemical analysis it is revealed to be standard pen ink. Once SCP-4XXX has manifested, it will speak only to the viewer who had looked at the restricted pages. To others, SCP-4XXX-2 is mute with the only accounts of its voice being from viewers before death. To the viewer, it has been described as a female voice with an upset and infuriated tone of voice. According to viewers, this voice says "I told you not to look!" SCP-4XXX-2 will solely target the viewer and will not demanifest until the death of said viewer either if SCP-4XXX-2 kills them or any other mean. Given the phrase that SCP-4XXX-2 says moments before a kill, it is hypothesized that SCP-4XXX-2 is the original artist of SCP-4XXX.
Discovery:
The Foundation was alerted to the presence of SCP-4XXX after a pair of paranormal investigators were dispatched to look into a disappearance of a local resident of ██████, New Hampshire. The two that arrived on the scene came to a total bloodbath, a DNA analysis resulted inconclusive as there a corpse was not present to compare to. The investigators asked the neighbors about the resident and was revealed that her name was █████, they noted she had kept to herself frequently and rarely left the house. Investigators had returned to the bloodied house and had noticed SCP-4XXX was completely unaffected. One of the investigators had flipped through the pages of SCP-4XXX while the other stepped back to record any possible results.
The recording investigator had acknowledged the restricted pages of SCP-4XXX and gave the viewer the task of continuing despite the warning, The viewer had ask his partner to take a closer look at the pages and noticed the pictures moving, after which, SCP-4XXX-2 had manifested, the footage of which it appeared showed it emerging in a liquid-like fashion. SCP-4XXX-2 had then mercilessly slew the viewer as the recorder had feared for his life, after hearing his partner's dying breath, he emerged from view and saw SCP-4XXX-2 slump its bulky body back into the pages of SCP-4XXX. The video ends showing the damage done to his partner. According to the footage found, the recorder, out of fear ran out the door and dropped the camera in his tracks. Mobile Task Force Epsilon-6 was dispatched to acquire SCP-4XXX, remove bloodstains and collect any other evidence of the incident.
Experiment 40XX-01 D-48654 is given a pen and is instructed to write in the pages of SCP-40XX, no matter how hard D-48654 pressed the pen, the page had no marks from the pen.
Experiment 40XX-02 D-48654 was instructed to look through the restricted pages of SCP-40XX, once he had gotten to these pages he is instructed to immediately close SCP-40XX, only stating that he can't resulting to Experiment 40XX-3.
Experiment 40XX-03 D-49248 is told to view the restricted pages of SCP-40XX for 20 minutes. After the allotted time had passed SCP-40XX-2 manifested. D-49248 was found with massive puncture wounds afterwards. Reviewing footage of its attack showed that it used tendril-like structures on D-49248.
Yeet Skeet this area is probably not complete.
Item #: SCP-40??
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: No special precautions have yet proven necessary, due to the harmless effects SCP-40?? has, it is currently held in the Light Containment Zone of Site-██
Description: SCP-40?? is a two-speaker stereo CD/cassette/radio with five previously programmed stations. SCP-40?? is 34 cm x 20 cm x 16 cm in length and bares physically no difference to a standard radio of the same make and model. SCP-40??'s properties take effect whenever any human is within an approximate maximum distance of 3 meters.
The effects of SCP-40?? are as follows:
Station |
Effect |
Notes |
92.7 |
SCP-40?? will behave as a completely normal radio, albeit with intermittent static, and has resulted in no notable effects on this station. |
No anomalous effects were found on Station 92.7 no further testing on this station will be necessary |
98.3 "MindWave FM" |
On this station SCP-40?? will within 15 seconds will play the song the closest person's currently thinking about. |
Testing has shown that even if a subject barely remembers a song, it will still play regardless. |
104.9 |
SCP-40?? will start playing the closest users thoughts. These thoughts will sound like the given user with an echo effect. |
Due to staff being disturbed by hearing their own thoughts, Foundation personnel are to avoid the station outside of testing. |
105.3 |
SCP-40?? will play a talk show with a Jamaican male as a host, he seems to be able to know about current events and will talk about such. The closest user can answer and comment on the host's questions. After a thorough inspection, no microphone can be found. |
Vocal analysis to identify the host have failed. As such, the radio show's host is designated as SCP-40??-1. |
310.9 |
Upon first impression is complete static, listeners have reported occasional letters and numbers in a nonsensical fashion. Decoders have not been able to identify the type of code if there is one. |
Foundation Staff have no idea if this station has any greater meaning behind it. Currently, the closest thing we have to compare to is a number station. |
The sources of all of these stations is currently unknown. Staff are divided as some hypothesized that some of these stations come from SCP-40?? itself. Others hypothesized that the sources do exists but are undetectable from standard radios originating from an unknown location
If any given subject were to get closer to SCP-40??, it will stop playing the original user's song and switch to next closest subject regardless of the station. On a similar effect, if the current user of SCP-40?? were to place a CD or cassette into the respective player the radio will begin playing the contents of the media inserted until either the user removes the media or changes SCP-40?? back to any of its radio functions. The entire process of doing this has not shown any reaction that may provoke any other effect and will otherwise function as an ordinary radio player.
Experiment 40?? 1 One D-Class is placed in the same room as SCP-40?? and is instructed to stand 2 meters and tune SCP-40?? to station 98.3. After 16 seconds, SCP-40?? started to play "Your Bones - Of Monsters and Men"
Experiment 40?? 2 Another D-class personnel was added to the room and was set at equal distance to the first. Keeping the station at 98.3, SCP-40?? played two songs at once occasionally transitioning to static. After which, the second D-class left the room
Experiment 40?? 3 Multiple Personnel are brought in at equal distance to SCP-40??. Similar to the result on the previous experiment, a culmination of multiple songs to the point it was unrecognizable what was playing. Personnel used during this test were instructed to vacate the room.
Note: Let's not do that again… -Dr. █████
Experiment 40?? 4 The same D-class personnel was asked to tune the radio to 104.9, upon completion, SCP-40?? immediately began playing the exact thoughts of the D-class in a similar sounding voice to his speaking voice, although with a slight echo.
Experiment 40?? 5 Dr. █████ enters the chamber with SCP-40?? with a list of questions and tuned SCP-40?? to 105.3
The following interaction transpired:
Time of Interview: 13:48 [Dr. █████ is reading the list of question]
<Begin Log:>
SCP-40??-1: Ah, welcome friend, how are you this fine day?
Dr. █████ : I'm okay. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?
SCP-40??-1: Of course, lets begin shall we?
Dr. █████: First of all, do you have a name?
SCP-40??-1: Nah man, you can call me whatever you like.
Dr. █████: Where did you come from?
SCP-40??-1:(Slight Pause.) I am not sure what you mean. I've come from many places.
Dr. █████: I meant where were you born?
SCP-40??-1: As far as I know, I don't have an answer for you.
Dr. █████: Are you sentient?
SCP-40??-1: Yes, I do have emotions if that's what you were asking.
Dr. █████: What is your purpose?
SCP-40??-1: My job is to provide entertainment for those around me, I like to talk to people and make them happy. So I guess you could say my purpose is to make people happy.
<End Log, [Time End: 13:52]>
It looks like SCP-40??'s talk show is as far as we know human, as for point of origin it's unknown.
Experiment Log 40??-6: Dr. █████ tunes SCP-40?? onto one of the stations and inserts "My Head is an Animal" Album into SCP-40??. After it has read the disc the first track "Dirty Paws" began to play. Contrary to Dr. █████ beliefs, he was pleased to see no major reaction was caused by this experiment.
Experiment Log 40??-7: Dr. █████ asks one D-class to enter the room and tuned the radio on to 104.9. SCP-40?? began to play the thoughts of the D-class in front of it and was asked a few questions. SCP-40?? whilst playing D-Classes own thoughts managed to humiliate himself by revealing the rest of the D-class's crime. Afterwards the D-class left with an awkward state of mind.
Discovery: SCP-40?? Came to the Foundation's attention at ████, Nevada. A citizen of this this city had returned to the Batteries Plus at which it was sold, stating the radio had been acting like it had a mind of its own. Further investigation of the radio revealed that unlike any others produced by the brand, it would pick up on five stations that were not detectable by any other radio. The employee of the Batteries Plus noted that it always played the song that was on his mind. Comparing it to another radio of the same make and model, it was noted that the stations would not precede 95.5 and exceed 109.7,most eerily of all was when the employee tuned to station 104.9, records show that the employee had froze when he heard his own thoughts while inspecting a broken radio. It was at this point that the Foundation had purchased SCP-40?? for experimentation.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a 4m x 4m x 4m chamber with light bulbs with a minimum of 700 lumens. The chamber of which SCP-XXXX is contaned must be powered at all times to reduce risk of a breach. Because of this, solar panels and a generator are to be attached to SCP-XXXX's container. Should SCP-4XXX escape, all personel are instructed to report an irregular behavior in personnel and any out of place shadows. If the instance of SCP-4XXX-1 is encountered personnel are to stun and carry SCP-4XXX-1 into it's container, after which a poisonous gas is to be emitted into the chamber on order to effectively neutralize SCP-4XXX-1.
Description: In its true nature, SCP-4XXX has no physical form although is able to cast a shadow, SCP-4XXX is able to change the shape of the shadow to aid any chance of possession. SCP-4XXX is capable of entering a living being and use it as a host. The majority of SCP-4XXX's abilities come forth when it resides inside a host. This host will be referred to as SCP-4XXX-1. When it has not chosen a host, SCP-4XXX can be capable of climbing vertical surfaces and teleporting to another nearby shadow any darkness touches it.
SCP-4XXX-1 serves as the physical form of SCP-4XXX, when inside of a host, SCP-4XXX-1 has been shown to have exceedingly increased speed and strength, Those who have been affected by SCP-4XXX pose an extreme threat to Foundation staff. SCP-4XXX-1 can be any living body of the animalia kingdom, the host can vary from family, ranging from those in the Lepismatidae family to those of Hominidae. If SCP-4XXX were to inhabit a human, SCP-4XXX-1 has shown to have extreme aggression to other people, for the abilities of SCP-4XXX-1 see Experiment Logs 4XXX-1.1-?. Recorded speeds of SCP-4XXX-1 vary from what SCP-4XXX has taken as a host assuming it accepts the host. In event that it does not accept the host, SCP-4XXX will cause the host's head to shake violently until the host's head bursts apart. SCP-4XXX prefers to use large animals including humans as a host.
Experiment Log 4XXX-1
Object: SCP-4XXX.
Subject: One (1) D-class Personnel.
Result: SCP-4XXX immediately absorbs into the D-class resulting in an instance of SCP-4XXX. The D-class was able to run at a top speed of 24 km/h when paired with SCP-4XXX, he was able to reach 56 km/h. Becuase of the aggression it shows towards others, MTF were dipatched to neutralize SCP-4XXX-1. This had resulted in the death of 2 guards and injured 3 more.
Experiment Log 4XXX.2
Object: SCP-4XXX.
Subject: One (1) feeble D-class personnel
Result: SCP-4XXX accepted the host and the D-class's muscle mass rose by 30%, aggression was not displayed and SCP-4XXX left the subject muttering "Puny" as it left. The D-class was admitted to the psychiatric ward of Site-██ for analysis.
Experiment Log 4XXX.3
Object: SCP-4XXX
Subject: One (1) Brown Rat
Result: SCP-4XXX entered the rat and semmingly accepted it. After 10 minutes, SCP-4XXX rejected the rat and burst the head. SCP-4XXX escaped the testing chamber by teleporting from the rat's shadow and reappearing behind a guard. SCP-4XXX then proceeded to enter a guard causing an instance of SCP-4XXX-1. This instance was neutralized and SCP-4XXX was placed back in containment.
Notes: SCP-4XXX may have noticed the guard (Look. IDK how to flesh this bit out more. gimme time…)
Experiment Log 4XXX-1
Object: SCP-4XXX.
Subject: One (1) Pigeon
Result: SCP-4XXX realized the speed at which the insect can reach and resulted in the several times faster than that of a standard Pigeon. This reaction had resulted in an injury of a researcher in which the SCP-4XXX-1 instance sped into the researcher. For more details on the event see Incident Report 4XXX-1.1.
Experiment Log 4XXX-1
Object: SCP-4XXX.
Subject: One (1) Wooden Block.
Result: SCP-4XXX did not enter the block. Testing terminated.
Incindent Report: SCP-4XXX-1.1
Date of Incident: 04/06/2001
Description of Incident. SCP-4XXX was introduced to a dragonfly, and accepted it as a host. SCP-4XXX-1 was created, and reached a top speed of 120 km/h. The instance then ricocheted off of every surface of the container until it had punctured the walls.
SCP-4XXX's at its cave, prior to containment.
ATTENTION READER: This SCP is based off of the monster in The New Great Deppression - The Moth and the Flame. I would suggest watching that before this to get more of a reference, With that said, enjoy.
Item # SCP-4???
Object Class Euclid
Special Containment Procedures SCP-4??? is to be held in a 7m x 5m
chamber void of windows or surveillance cameras. Foundation staff are to ensure that SCP-4??? is in containment through pressure sensitive pads underneath the container. Heat sensors are also to be installed to further ensure the containment of SCP-4???. If SCP-4??? needs to be removed for testing purposes, staff are to avert there eyes to reduce the risk of SCP-4???'s effects taking place. If SCP-4??? is to be used for testing purposes, it is to be hauled in a 7m x 2m chamber like that of its containment to the destination.
Description SCP-4??? is a timid but docile humanoid creature completely covered in long shaggy hair standing at 2.3 meters and weighs approximately 95.2 kilograms. SCP-4??? has a pair of large yellow eyes that can be luminescent in the dark. the functionality of this is unclear. The horns located on the side of SCP-4???'s head are composed of dermal bone, covered by a thin epidermal layer, and lastly a thin layer of keratinized cells. It is theorized that staring into SCP-4???'s eyes lead to the effect of SCP-4???
SCP-4??? upon first siting, will begin appearing in the viewers personal life, attempts of a viewer to show SCP-4??? to another has resulted failure to see SCP-4??? leading them to think they are overreacting or insane. SCP-4??? is described as an intimidating presence during the first interaction and the visions of SCP-4??? will not stop until the viewer returns to the location of which it as first viewed. It is after this, SCP-4??? will allow the viewer to touch and interact with SCP-4??? and may present it to others. Touching the fur of SCP-4??? will result in a cooing response.
Discovery
SCP-4XXX walking with Floyd.
SCP-4??? was brought to the Foundations attention on 5/12/2004, a boy by the name of █████, Floyd, Age: 11, had gone exploring at approximately 3:35 p.m. which was normal to his mother. When Floyd had returned later that day he was stressed and was apparent he was crying. After which he started seeing SCP-4???. Floyd was reported to have been trying to make others see SCP-4??? but could not see anything, as it did not cause any harm, this had his mother put it off as an imaginary friend.
She had gotten worried about this when Floyd started to have nightmares of SCP-4???, when she rushed in to calm him down, Floyd started to see SCP-4??? in his room. It wasn't until a few days later he had returned to the cave at which SCP-4??? was spotted and brought it home. His mother took it in as one of it's own. SCP-4??? played with Floyd and It wasn't until a few days later SCP-4??? was making a mess of the kitchen while Floyd had asked repeatedly for it to stop. SCP-4??? displaying child-like mannerisms at the time ignored the plea and continued to make a mess. His mother walked in to see her son in the kitchen who had claimed it was SCP-4??? who was no longer present by the time his mother came in.
Floyd's mother tried to take him to a pediatrician, while Floyd was trying to explain himself. The mother had gotten in a car crash, killing her on impact. Floyd has been taken into the care of a foster family of which he had run away from and returned to SCP-4??? It is from here on reported that SCP-4??? was seen carrying Floyd. Foundation personnel went to the cave described where SCP-4??? was first sighted and relocated it to Site-██ where it is to be held to this day. As for the location of Floyd, it is currently unknown where he may be. Police and Foundation Staff are on watch for any reports of the boy as he may be needed for future experimentation.
Item: SCP-4??
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Any instance of SCP-4???-2 is to be located and exterminated as part of Foundation protocol. A live instance of SCP-4???-2 is to be kept in a standard human containment. Physical contact of SCP-4???-2 is not advised depending on the character it is representing.
Description: SCP-4??? are masks of various female characters from the anime genre of entertainment. The effects of the mask will result two similar outcomes, if a subject is to put on the mask without a costume similar to that of the represented character (See Ex-4???.1) they will be transformed into the given character and compressed into a two-dimensional version of the character and will behave as such. The secondary will take effect if they are wearing a costume like that of the character the mask represents. The difference for this outcome causes the subject to transform into a three-dimensional model of the character like that of the 2D version, they will behave like the charcter presented. Both of these outcomes are to labeled as SCP-4???-2.
These instances of SCP-4????-2 will vary in height both on the original wearer and the resulting character. The transformation process of the first listed outcome is painful however the wearer is not able to express the pain by any means as by that point SCP-4??? has taken control, <— Too similar to 035?. Both tranformation of both versions of SCP-4??? have the same process and follows as such.
- Subject puts on the mask.
- Subject turns into a white color as between 4-7 tendrils sprout from the back.
- The aforementioned tendrils will then envelope the subject as mass begins to shine. It is at this point SCP-4??? takes control and renders the subject dead.
- SCP-4???-2 is created as the tendrils withdraw.
^Probably should flesh this out^
Addendum Locations and distributors of SCP-4??? is primarily that of [REDACTED], located in ████, Japan, this company manufactures approximately 89% of the SCP-4??? instances. When questioned about the behavior of these masks the owner expressed great confusion stating that "When we test our products, the effects of which you are describing never took place."
Experiment: 4???.1
Object: One (1) Instance of SCP-4??? of which is representing Madoka Kaname
Subject: One D-class personnel
Result:
- Phantom Limb Syndrome - Arms/Legs floating in place and in sync with owner of limb as if it were still attached.
- Resin Insects - Bugs in resin (Like the keychains and paperweights with a bug in them) that move and behave like the living thing.
- Mechanimals - Self explanitory
- RID - Transformers figures that behave like the character they represent i.e. One that looks like Starscream will act as Starscream
- Respawner - Person that will respawn upon death and will have the scar of any injury he died from.
- Amulet of Telekinesis - Again Self explanatory.
- The Albino: A humanoid creature that is extremely sensitive to light
- "Beethoven" A humanoid creature that must have music playing at all times (use of Radio?)
- The Silence Kills: Creature that needs total silence contrary to above.
