Concept: Basically, a "haunted" house that wants to take care of its inhabitants, instead of cliched "LEAVE MY HOME OR I HAUNT" reaction. The entity was a woman in her past life, who always wished to have a nice and loving family, but unfortunately wasn't able to (unsure for reason why yet). While I do want to make her somewhat empathetic, she also gets frustrated easily and becomes hostile when not able to fulfill her wishes of being part of a family.
UPDATE: Suggestions to make her more of a kindred spirit is good, and I'm going with it. Also, trying to leave backstory a bit more open-ended.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a laminate wood sign that reads "Home Is Where The Heart Is" in a stylish white font. After Incident-XXXX-1-A, the word "MY" in bold black font appears instead over the word "The". This phenomenon is only present to Foundation personnel, which manifests in photographic content of XXXX-2 as well.
If no instances of XXXX-3 exists, and XXXX-2 is not brought into a residence deemed suitable, XXXX-1 becomes increasingly irritable and arrogant. After five to seven days, SCP-XXXX-1 becomes aggressive and actively violent, swinging XXXX-2 around at high speeds to injure and decapitate personnel, demanding to be brought into a family. XXXX-1 can make XXXX-2 phase through matter in order to escape physical containment. After another XXXX-3 is created, XXXX-1 goes back to normal behaviour, seemingly unaware of her actions.
SCP-XXXX-1 must be occupying an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 at all times, unless during the process of relocation or setup for surveillance. Only allow creation of SCP-XXXX-3 in households approved by Dr. ████████. SCP-XXXX-2 is to be be safely secured inside SCP-XXXX-3, in a location out of reach by the residents. Once designated, SCP-XXXX-3 must be wired tapped and cameras set up while XXXX-1 and -2 is outside of the area to avoid detection. Surveillance of XXXX-3 is to increase in frequency as time since creation of the house increases.
SCP-XXXX-2 is prohibited, under any circumstances, to stay in one instance of SCP-XXXX-3 for more than 8 months. Begin relocation after 6 months have passed, or if SCP-XXXX-1 becomes unstable, with XXXX-3 being cleared of all furniture and belongings, and the residents being supplied with Class-D amnestics.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Security Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX-1 must be occupying an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 at all times, unless if it's in the process of relocation, or an interview is set up with XXXX-1 and approved by Dr. Hathaway. SCP-XXXX-2 is to be located and secured at the entrance of XXXX-3, again only allowed to be moved for the aforementioned reasons.
Relocation is to occur every year on 23/05, with XXXX-2 being immediately transported elsewhere the day prior. All furniture and belongings inside of SCP-XXXX-3 is to be inspected, cleaned, and moved out with the residents, and Class-E amnestics should be distributed, reinstating the fact that XXXX-1 was only a close family friend. XXXX-1 is prohibited from discovering the amnestic protocol of this procedure, as she is aware of most of it.
Description: SCP-XXXX consists of three main entities: SCP-XXXX-1, XXXX-2, and XXXX-3.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the incorporeal entity identifying as Audrey Miller. XXXX-1 can be heard welcoming visitors when standing on XXXX-2. The entity is only observable to residents of XXXX-3, and to visitors in mirrors, but both will be able to hear her (reports show that residents hear her more clearly, however). The entity looks to be a young woman in a light pink blouse, with blonde hair and an almost pure white complexion. The original Audrey Miller is reported to have died on 23/05/2003 at age 25, with the cause of death unknown/undocumented (see Addendum.1 & Addendum.2).
SCP-XXXX-2 is a coir door mat with a pattern printed around the word "WELCOME". XXXX-1 is only present and detectable within a 10-meter radius of the catalyst. If XXXX-2 is placed at the entrance of a domicile while its residents are inside, a knocking from the door will be audible. The door will open by itself, and the residents will be able to see and hear XXXX-1. The entity will converse with the household, and after judging, she will make the decision to stay or find another residence.
If XXXX-1 chooses to stay at a residence, she becomes ecstatic and claims to have "joined the family", turning the residence into an instance of SCP-XXXX-3. Following the designation of XXXX-3, XXXX-1 is reported to help out with menial houseworking tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, sweeping and mopping, ect. Whenever members of the household are questioned on who did these tasks, most responded "Audrey did it." After four to six weeks, XXXX-1 begins to undertake bigger tasks, such as gardening, moving of furniture and addition of decor, thorough cleaning, ect. Residents of XXXX-3 report a more positive life experience, and some state a reliance on XXXX-1.
After six months, XXXX-1 and the family show significant connections with each other, with the family not wanting to leave the home, regardless of education or professional responsibilities. Residents seem to always be conversing with XXXX-1 at home, and outsiders will not hear her unless holding or looking at XXXX-2. All residents unanimously agree that Audrey is part of the family, with some terrified by the concept of her leaving. After nearly twelve months, the entity becomes more clingy
Every year, on the date of 23/05, XXXX-1 becomes irrational and emotionally unstable. If an instance of XXXX-3 exists, the entity will be convinced that the residents do not actually care about her, regardless of how much time she's been there, and the connections that've been made. This leaves the residences of SCP-XXXX-3 to act uncharacteristic. Before the end of the day, the household takes SCP-XXXX-2 and [DATA EXPUNGED]. XXXX-1 falls into a state of depression, and the family is gone permanently, with no traces left behind of them in XXXX-3. Afterwards, XXXX-1 cannot recall anything that occurred on that day, reports "somehow" having a migraine, and XXXX-3 goes back to its previous state before the entity appeared.
Interviewed: Jonathan ██████, previous fiancé of Audrey Miller.
Interviewer: Researcher Sara Quinn
Foreword: Interview was performed in guise of a police investigation.
<Begin Log, 14:34>
Sara: Are we ready to start, Mr. ██████?
John: Yeah, sure. Let's get this over with.
Sara: You're not comfortable with talking about the subject, are you?
John: 'Subject'? You mean my dead lover?
moment of silence
Sara: …well, we're just trying to find out the specifics, is all.
John: grunts
Sara: Alright, if you want to make this quick, just tell us what you know about Audrey Miller.
John: Fine. It was, like, about two months ago. Me and her, we were─ Jonathan stops, then turns red for a moment.
John: Uh, we had an 'active' sexual life, I suppose.
Sara: I see.
John: Yeah, yeah. Have fun including that in your little 'report'. Anyways, we've been doing this for a while. Me, it was mostly about the pleasure, I suppose. But she wanted kids out of it. And I was fine with it, right? We were gonna get married in three months, it was gonna happen. John pauses, then looks remorseful.
John: …actually, it was supposed to happen next week.
Sara: The wedding?
John: Yeah. She died a month before it. Now, we're holding her funeral on that day instead. This shit sucks, man. John begins to tear up.
Sara: Jonathan, I know you aren't in a good mindset, but we need─
John: Yeah, yeah. I know. The details. John wipes his eyes, clears his throat, then continues.
John: Okay, so we tried this for a while. Pregnancy test after pregnancy test, all negative. Audrey started getting worried, started saying shit like, "What if I can't have kids? What if it isn't possible?" She became paranoid that I wouldn't love her anymore. That isn't true. I always loved her. I still do.
Sara: Was there no discussion of adoption?
John: I tried bringing it up, but she never agreed. Constantly said that her mother would never approve. That bitch.
Sara: What happened on the 25th of May?
John: sigh, that's the day everything well to hell. We drove out near dusk to go see a doctor. To find out if her greatest fears were true. She never let go of me on the drive there.
Sara: What were the results?
John: …she was right. When the doctor told her, of course she was sad, but she kept it together. As soon as we got into the car though, she broke down. Started asking why God betrayed her, if she was a joke. She tried clawing at her stomach, it was awful. I tried to hold her down, begged her to calm, but she wouldn't. She pushed me hard, I smashed into the window, and my head started to bleed. She ran out of the car, out towards a park nearby, and I fainted before I could try to go after her.
Sara: And then…?
John: And then I woke up in the same hospital I drove her to. She went missing, and after three days, they found the body, in a forest near the park.
Sara: I see. Well, I believe that's everything then. Just one more thing, though.
John: What's that?
Sara: Your reports of seeing her at your home. After you knew about her death.
John remains quiet.
Sara: John?
John: …you want to hear about that? Didn't you guys just chalk that up to me going insane, or something?
Sara: All medical examinations you partook in show distress, no forms of schizophrenia or psychosis. We need as much information from you as possible, for the sake of this case.
John: …okay. Well, I woke up one morning, the day after I found out, and saw her next to me. She was standing there, looking down at me.
Sara: She was alive again?
John: No. I could tell, she was dead. But her spirit wasn't. She told me, "Now we can be together, forever." And then I booked it. I ran out of the house, and started sleeping at a friend's place afterwards. I'd only ever see her at the house, nowhere else. I tried asking her how, or why, and she told me that she "made a deal", and now her soul resides in the house.
Sara: Did you believe her?
John: I don't fucking know. I still can't handle the fact that I was talking to my wife as a ghost.
Sara: So what did you do afterwards?
John: I planned to move out. Sell the home, just─ just get away from this, somehow. She was mad, of course, but I couldn't handle it. If she was supposed to be dead, then she's supposed to be dead. I just wanted to move on. One time, when I was trying to get my stuff out, she locked the door, and demanded that I stayed. She was trying to keep me prisoner in our own home. It was surreal.
Sara: How did you escape?
John: …are you humoring me?
Sara: No, I'm being serious. How did you manage to get out of the house, if Audrey seemed to have control over everything inside?
John: Well, I tried telling her that I needed food, but she just made food appear inside the fridge and the cupboards somehow. I tried calling for help, but she cut the wire for the home phone. Eventually, after begging her, telling her that how she was treating me was wrong, she broke. She kicked me out of the house, and told me that if I wasn't going to be apart of her family, she was going to find a new one.
Sara: What did you do afterwards?
John: I got some friends to move the stuff out of there for me. Of course, I didn't tell them about this shit, but I wanted to see if they saw Audrey there too. Apparently they heard the neighbors crying, so that could've been Audrey, but I'm not sure. They got rid of everything, the furniture, clothes, kitchen appliances, even that crappy old door mat my mother-in-law gave us. When I came back, after everything was gone, Audrey wasn't there anymore. I sold everything that belonged to her, left what I kept in storage, and haven't looked back since. Still trying to find a new place to live.
Sara: So you haven't heard from Audrey at any other point, aside from in the house?
John: I think once more, when I was selling the door mat to an old lady. I heard the faintest whisper, "I'm sorry." And that was it. But it left me at ease.
Sara: Alright then. Well Jonathan, I believe that's everything, correct?
Both John and Sara get up from their seats.
John: And then some. I still don't get why you wanted to hear about the "ghost" so badly, do you believe in it or something?
Sara: We believe that it is real, yes. And thanks to your help, we can determine a way to contain Audrey.
John: What?
Two guards enter the room, grabbing Jonathan and escorting him out.
John: Hey, what the─ let me go! I didn't do anything!
Sara: We know, Jonathan. Now you won't remember anything, either.

Pater est infinitus; Mater eodem
Father is infinite; Mother the same
They are opposites, yet They are one
How kind They were to grant us consciousness
Even though we learned of the dark
How kind They were to grant us feelings
Even though we would hate and woe
How kind They were to grant us a purpose
Even though we concealed and forgot
How kind They were to grant us a home
Even though we tore it down
With our negligence and prying eyes
Yet They forgive us, because They love us
Another chance out of countless others
And now that we know what They sacrificed
We must acknowledge Them, for now and forever
And treat all of their Children with respect and kindness
Including the first ones, by them and by us
For Father is infinite; Mother the same
They are not present, yet They have returned
In the name of the Father, the Mother, and the Absolute Truth
